I'm staying here in Claremont and decided to drop off a few things.i should mention that I am of African American decent and I believe that's the reason why I was treated unfairly was due to my race . As I was dropping off my things, a white man came in behind mw and immediately worker helped him instead of finishing my transaction me., I didn't appreciate rhe unprofessional treatment. BJ, the owner has misplaced a pair of expensive JOES jeans that cost me $100 and denied it. I had came back to give him this jean to add to the other clothes I just submitted to him mins. before at the same time, and he said I didn't need a receipt for the add on became he was busy with a customer and would add it the order later. I gave him about a month to find it, and he still unapologetically denied I ever gave him the jeans. I was polite in inquiring about my missing jeans with him the whole time. 2012 Update: I received a message from someone related to this business, calling me a bitch. After I replied, they deleted their Yelp account. Just saying. - - - LAST UPDATE EVER...! As it's been for the past million weeks, the worker told me my purse would be ready by yesterday. I knew it wouldn't be, because it was a holiday weekend, but I was SO over it, I didn't even bother saying anything. I called AGAIN, and of course, the bag wasn't ready, because it was a holiday weekend, and I was going to get 5 free articles of clothing to clean, because they somehow figured I'd want to go back to their store... I hung up and decided to call the Claremont Police to see what my options were. They told me to go talk to the owner first and if nothing worked out, then to call them again, so I went to the store. The owner wasn't there, so they sent me to the other store on Benson and Arrow. The owner was polite, but he told me leather bags take 3-4 weeks to clean, and he didn't seem to believe me when I told him that his worker told me 2 weeks, which was also reflected on the receipt I got. After telling him how unprofessional his workers were, he told me the bag was in Huntington Beach (what?!), and that for sure it'd be ready by today, and if it wasn't, then I could call the police. I understood (my boyfriend did too) that the owner said I'd be getting the purse for free and delivered to my house, but when he called this morning, he wouldn't be able to deliver it until after 1 pm, so I went in myself. The bag was a darker color than the original color should have been, but it didn't look as dirty as it did. The under part of the handles are still dirty though, and then he said he would charge me $35! I told him we had understood he said it'd be free, but he gave me attitude when he said no, that the only free thing he had offered were the 5 articles for cleaning, but that I had said no to that...Seriously, why would I want their AWFUL service again?? So he lowered the price to $30, I paid and left. If I could give this place -5 stars, I would. They are NOT professional, coordinated, or honest. They don't clean their own pieces, and they don't even keep track of their own 3rd-party cleaning schedules. They don't even have the consideration to call when they know they're doing a bad job. I have been coming here but I am sooo disappointed on how they handled my transaction. They stole 4 of my husband's slacks. I dropped off 8 pants and when I returned to pick them up they only gave me back 4 pants. Their reason was they made a mistake on the ticket when I dropped them off even though we counted the pieces together. What is the point of a slip of even with proof of qty of what was dropped off they still come back and say it's not what the slip says that they made a mistake on the ticket. There is a lovely woman who is very sweet, and she does a perfect job every time whether it is taking in coats, dresses, or taking inches off of pants. I buy a lot of clothes at the recycled clothing store, and sometimes I can't pass up a piece just because it doesn't fit. At this place, they make the whole process very simple and easy breezy. Don't bring your stuff here. This dry cleaners is an epic fail. I brought a sweatshirt here to get tailored, my boyfriend brought a shirt to get cleaned and pressed. My sweatshirt took a week, and then I had to send it back for another week because they didn't have the common sense to bring in the sleeves if they were already bringing in the sides- I don't want wings kthnx. I swear there were stains on it when I got it back the first time. Grand total for an easy, two week tailoring job? $40. I could have just bought a new sweatshirt. I also found out my sweatshirt was sent to a shop in West Covina to be tailored and my boyfriend's shirt was sent to Montclair to be cleaned. This store is just a front for other stores, so you end up getting charged two times more then you should have to pay. FAIL. read more

The people here are so nice. The owner and I have struck up quite a few conversations and she is so sweet. She even commented when I hadn't been in for awhile and asked how things were. As soon as we walk in the staff knows us and gets our record up without asking our name. This shop is wonderful. It's a family owned business and the lady who runs it does her very best to make everything come out lovely for you wether it's the dry cleaning or alterations. I won't go anywhere else. I also know things can come up with all people and we are all human beings and this is a small mom and pop shop so I never wait till the last minute for anything. I had one thing they rushed for me and I am so grateful to them, but I don't want to stress them or me like that again. To the person who complained about a purse in a review this is my opinion on that. I've watched videos on YouTube of purses cleaned by the original manufacturer. It usually takes months and costs hundreds of dollars. The fact that not everyone knows how to clean a valuable purse like yours is evident and sourcing it out to an expert makes perfect sense. They only wanted the best for your item. The fact that person was busy isn't unusual. The fact they then probably rushed it because you got impatient and it wasn't as clean as you'd like or done as well as you'd like you get what you pay for next time send it to the manufacturer and wait months and pay hundreds of dollars. Because in the real world that's what it costs. I've had two vintage wedding dresses done with extreme spots on them and they really surprised me with how amazing they came out. One I made in 1974 the other one was 1992 and had never been washed or really sealed up. I've also started to conserve my mother's clothes that she sewed and some that were vintage designer gowns. The fact too they are now cleaned with environmentally friendly cleaners means so much to me. My daughters and granddaughters are seeing these for the first time. I needed a coat cleaned for an event, and I wasn't able to drop my coat off to be cleaned until the day before (a friday). The guy working here told me that my coat would be ready by monday, and when he saw the disappointed look on my face, made a call to get my coat done the very next day! I had to drive out to a different location to get it, but it was only about 4 miles away, so not a big deal at all. The guy working there (didn't catch his name, I'm sorry!) was so helpful and nice, the next time I need something dry cleaned, I will absolutely be back. read more

Ive been coming to this cleaner for about a year now. I have gotten my jeans, my suits and dresses dry cleaned here and so far so good. I love that they are environmentally friendly. Usually have it within 2-3 days and they give you a bar code ticket with your name and how many items you are dropping off so there is no error. The hours are great too. read more

The people working here are nice enough, but I question their competence. They ruined a brand new $100 white dress shirt by putting it on a rusty hanger after cleaning it. I pointed this out when I picked up the shirt so they agreed to re-clean it. When I came back a 2nd time the shirt still had the rust stains. I gave up at that point. read more

My husband and I frequent this area and I needed to find a good cleaners to take my suits and other work clothes to. I am newer to the area and I decided to try out this place and I'm glad I did! My first and only experience thus far was to have 2 pairs of pants hemmed. They were able to do them both in less than 3 days! I was so happy because I needed them quick. This cleaners is awesome! They have great service. The woman who owns the business is very sweet and makes a huge effort to remember the specifics of each customer. I was waiting behind a few others last weekend and she was able to recall which customer had a button missing, which one needed special hangers, and which one required extra attention for stain removal. She is also the parents' favorite in the village. All of us students love her! Plus we get student discount with FREE pick up and delivery at our colleges. They are expert stain removers and have taken out those that other cleaners have failed to do so. They do great alterations. It's a family business so they take good care. When my long trusted dry cleaner retired over twelve years ago; I tried a couple of establishments before a trusted friend/ business woman highly recommended Acme in 2002. She was spot on! The husband's custom silk suits, my knits, silk blouses, table linens, suede and leather jackets all come back in excellent condition. They are miracle workers on the worse stains. Alterations and repairs are sent out and take about a week to get back. Acme contracts with exceptional craftsmen. My husband's favorite cashmere sport coat had a pea sized whole from moth damage that was prominently visible on the shoulder blade; we took it to the tailor who could not restore it. Rekha, at Acme assured us it could be repaired, provided a quote and two weeks later returned it expertly re-woven. We were thrilled! read more

When I looked at my dress I couldn't believe how cleaned it looked because I knew I had left it really dirty from the bottom. I dropped off a pair of pants that needed patching, and they had some trouble getting the pants back to me when they said they'd be back. More than anything else, I was disappointed that I didn't receive a phone call letting me know that they would be 3 or 4 days late before I went over on my break to pick them up--especially when it was scheduled to take 5 days in the first place. After finding out that I'd come in and my pants weren't done, the owner called me and let me know that she would have them ready for me the next day, and they did a good job with the patch. I'm willing to use them again because of the personal customer service and the fact that the work was done well, but I won't count on them for anything time-sensitive. read more

I visited 3 cleaners prior to stopping here and they are the only cleaner to take the job no fuss or questions asked! The wedding gown was vintage and needed pleats put back into it and a cleaning. Both tasks were completed in a timely manner and executed above my expectations. Rather than doing the whole dress at once they did do a test run for me to come in and see prior to them completing the task which is fantastic I got to see what I was buying.
