This review is only for the alteration service the dry cleaner provides. Back story: i needed to cut the length of my bridesmaids dress. I called ~8 different places to get a quote and specifically said it's a length alteration for a chiffon bridesmaid dress with two layers. The range of prices I got quoted was $50-80. When I called here, they told me it starts at $19 but can go up to the $40s. With that info, i brought my dress here since it was the best price - even though this place was a bit far from my house. The customer service was excellent, dress was altered within a week, alteration was perfect. However, when I went to pay, the total was $86. I was a bit taken a back since the price was extremely different from what I was quoted. When I brought that up, the girl working was apologetic and let me know she will pass this info off to the owner. Tony called me back the next day to apologize for the misinformation and made it right by refunding me a portion of the cost. I know we PAY for the convenience but I also pay for honesty. even before committing to the job, my husband went in person to get a quote since it could've cost him $50+ depending on the cost and repair needed/stitching, he was told then $10 if only needing the services rendered: zipper latch Tab. Our Lesson Here: Maybe ask for a quote in writing if doing business here, I feel like we live in a new age where as consumers we can't believe everything we're told unless it's in writing. I have been here for a couple of years and I truly do think they run a tight ship. Recently though the past two times they have been late to return my clothes. I came in with one shirt for it to be dry cleaned and it was supposed to be done on Monday at 4. It was not ready. I came back the next day on Tuesday at 1:30 the shirt was still not ready. They called me 20 minutes later that day to tell me it finally came in. I made three separate trips to get my dress shirt. I just had my first experience with Tony's Dry Cleaning and, overall, the service is top notch. I presented Tony with a tough job in trying to mend a merino wool sweater which had been attacked by a moth or two. There were some sizable holes but Tony took on the challenge and his seamstress did a much better job than I was expecting. Does it look good as new? Not quite, lol. But it is at least wearable now. I spilled coffee on my curtains and brought them to Tony's because they are dry clean only curtains. The stain proved to be very difficult and Tony had to soak them to get the stain out. I've been to Tony's Dry Cleaners a few times and had no issues with their service--until recently. About a week ago, I brought in a newly purchased jacket. The jacket came with a handkerchief sewn into the pocket, and I requested pressing only, not dry cleaning. When I picked up the jacket, I noticed the handkerchief was missing. I brought this up with the owner, who asked me what color it was. I admitted I didn't remember the exact color since the jacket was brand new. The owner's response was, "How could I find the handkerchief if you don't know the color?!"--which I found quite dismissive and unprofessional. He went on to suggest that the handkerchief must not have been sewn in securely, implying it was my fault it went missing. I left the conversation feeling frustrated and even a bit foolish--not only for not remembering the color, but also for feeling like I had to defend myself for something I didn't cause. They promised to contact me if they found it, but it's been a week and I haven't heard anything. To be clear, I understand that mistakes happen. What I didn't appreciate was how the situation was handled. I still paid the full price for the service, even though the handkerchief was lost.
