On July 8, I picked up two dresses from your store after having them cleaned. One dress was black, so it was difficult to tell whether it had actually been cleaned, although it did not have the usual green cleaning tag attached. The second dress was orange, and it was obvious that it had not been cleaned at all. In fact, it appeared to have even more stains than before. I paid $40 to have both dresses cleaned, and I regret not inspecting them before leaving the store. This was extremely disappointing, especially considering the cost of the service. Based on my experience, I will not be using this dry cleaner again. I would recommend that others inspect their garments before leaving, or consider taking their clothing elsewhere. read more

This place deserves 0 stars! Don't not take your clothes here unless you want them ruined and then blamed for it. I took a pair of brand new pants with tags on to be hemmed, when I went to pick up the pants I noticed 6 small holes that were not there before. Based on how the seamstress hemmed them when I got fitted, the only logical conclusion is that the holes were created by the large safety pins that the seamstress used during my fitting. Mind you, he was going to be removing about 6 inches from the bottom causing him to pin way above the hem line. At the time of pick up when I brought this to the attendants attention, she too agreed that he made a mistake, apologized and offered to have them looked at by a manager to see what could be done to fix them. When I called to follow up on the status of my pants, the attendant Rosie proceeded to tell me that my pants were ready for pick up and that there was nothing wrong with them based off her "camera footage" that was checked. I was given the run around and then was told again that they wouldn't be assessed by a manager until next week. After that conversation, I received a phone call from KARLA who began to tell me, based off her "initial assessment through photos," that it was not possible that they created the holes in my pants and that they would not be taking responsibility for that. She then blamed me for creating the holes myself. Not once during either conversation with Karla or Rosie did I receive an apology for the service that had been done to my pants. Nor did either one of them offer a solution other than blaming me for the holes and said the "least" they could do was steam my pants as a courtesy. In addition, they used "reviewing camera footage" as a form of proof that they did not create the holes, yet when I asked if they could review footage from the initial day I had my fitting to see that the seamstress pinned my pants well above the hem line which created the holes, they said "no they wouldn't do that for me." In the end I decided to pick up my pants immediately because I didn't trust them to be in their hands any longer. So now I'm stuck with brand new pants with "holes that I created." I needed to find a new place to get my dry cleaning since my previous place in Ontario closed, so I visited Kona Cleaners for the first time a couple of weeks ago after finding out that my significant other uses them regularly. I needed to have a nice winter coat and formal gown dry cleaned, so I stopped by after having called them and getting quoted over the phone. To my surprise, the actual prices were significantly higher than quoted over the phone, particularly for the dress. I was told that dresses started at under $20, but when I arrived, the person told me that ball gowns are $85. The coat was $35. I decided to only drop off the coat and hold off on the gown, which I took to another place down the street. To my surprise, the other place quoted the coat at $30 and the gown at $35! I can understand the small price difference for the coat, but am still baffled at the enormous difference for the dress! Anyway, the coat wad ready the next day, and it was very nicely presented. The customer service is good, and I like thar you can pick up and drop off after hours. I may be using them again, should I need to utilize their after-hours services, but for now, I think I'm sticking to the other place I found. read more

I came to Kona Cleaners needing to have patches sewn onto my daughter's jacket and bag with only 24 hours before her karate tournament. Rosie at the front desk was very helpful and accommodating. Luis even came over on his lunch break to take a look and make sure he could complete the job within the tight timeframe. The patches were intricate patterns, the jacket material was thick and tough, and the locations on the bag were difficult to access. Even still, Luis completed the work same day and everything looks amazing! They even sewed on an additional patch (free of charge) that I had, very sloppily, done myself. Rosie and Luis were professional, quick, and showed excellence in their craft. The price was also very reasonable. I would highly recommend Kona Cleaners and Luis for any sewing work. read more

After speaking with Karla, I brought the dress back in for their team to investigate. Karla communicated with me throughout the process and they were able to determine the stain was not a food/coffee spill, nor was it a solvent. They were able to launder the dress and eliminate the stain completely. If I can give them 0 stars I would. Worst service ever!! I dropped off my son's suit on Saturday and picked it up Tuesday. Came home and found out they gave me the wrong vest which was missing a buckle on the back. I went back to show them and provided them with pictures of my son in the vest. The lady said she needed to view the cameras from that day. Took her awhile to get back to me. She stated that's the vest I brought in, which is incorrect. The video also shows the buckle was attached to the vest I brought. She then proceeded to inform me they will fix it and to come back tomorrow. She didn't apologize for misplacing the vest or the buckle missing. I came back today to pick up the wrong vest with the attached buckle. They attached a buckle that's bigger than the one I brought in and they sewed it without my knowledge. Unfortunately, there is nothing I can do at this point. I just know I won't be coming back here again. Responding to your response.. No where in the video that was shown to me showed the employee put my vest in a bag or that a barcode was placed on the vest. I always have a hard time finding jeans that fit me to my style, there's a store at the Montclair mall that has what I like but the length is always too long so I struggle to find someone to do the alterations. I was so glad to find out that Kona has a pro alterations lady now her name is Ani. She pinned my jeans while I was wearing them just to the way I wanted them to fit and when I went to pick them and tried them on at home it was exactly how I wanted them, and of course they were dry cleaned and fresh for my next outing. Kona Cleaners is located off the 210 and Baseline in the same plaza as Whole Foods Market 365, Corkys and Starbucks. This is a fairly new plaza with plenty of hot spots. They are brightly lit with high ceilings and pretty innovative for the most part. For those who are always on the go, Kona Cleaners offers a 24/7 drop off and pick up system. I think you just need to prepay or set up payment with them for picking up after hours. They have a inside cage door that comes down when staff leaves, but you can still go through the front door to access the 24/7 drop off/pick up system. I recently came here to drop off my favorite work Blazer. I felt like it was collecting dust in my backseat since I haven't been in the office. Usually I have it in the car incase I get a last minute *important* meeting I want to look fancy for. Since I have not been in the office lately, I just wanted to give it a nice dry clean before hanging it up. The price with tax for a Blazer dry cleaning was $9.88. I think that's affordable. I really like their clear labels. My name and the item's brand and description was on the tag, so it doesn't get mixed up with other people's items. I am saying this as someone who has had their items mixed up at dry cleaner prior. Their system here was reassuring. The ONE thing I felt was very backwards on technology was when they told me to write down my information on this post card size paper. Considering how automated everything else was, I imagined an ipad where I can enter my information. Anyways, my Blazer was quickly available and I came to pick it up at my next availability. Service was nice enough. They are a family owned and operated business so I really like supporting that, especially knowing how the pandemic has effected the small business owners. Didn't love their policy on men's shirts. When I dropped off 3 mens shirts, there was no mention their policy is to only launder 100% cotton white shirts - everything else is dry cleaned (at twice the price - $7.30 each). This is contrary to their website which says, "SHIRT CLEANING - Whiter whites. Brighter colors. These are what you get when you trust your dress shirts..." which suggests colored shirts can be laundered. (Also - what cleaners won't launder colored shirts?). $18 for 3 shirts (2 dry cleaned, 1 laundered) was a bit steep. I don't think I'll be coming back. read more

Good business idea you drop off after hours and pick up after hrs as well I knew it was to good to be true for the perfect dry cleaners I got charged for some extra pieces of dry cleaning for clothes that were not mine. When I went in the customer service was horrible they did not want to give me my money back but they wanted the clothes back . I left immediately without returning the clothes I got charged for I'm sure they will call back when the owner finds out this place lost their clothes . Anybody that knows military uniforms knows that they can be very tedious to take care of- and have to be perfect with creases here and there and differ from piece to piece. Kona has always done a great job getting our pieces done quickly (99% of the time, before estimated pick up which is already quick.) Vivian is always courteous and super helpful! She walked us through the after hours automated pick up (incredible resource by the way, especially for last minute pick ups when they're closed), seems to always be the one to help us out during business hours, and is always kind easy to chat with when stopping by. On Tuesday (09/05/23) I came to pick-up my clothing after hours. I input all of my information into the Kiosk to have the machine dispense my order. Unfortunately, the kiosk did not dispense my order. I composed an email to have the discrepancy reviewed and resolved the following business day. Luckily, an evening driver ( A. Gomez) had arrived to pick up the clothing for his route while I was still in the parking lot. I kindly asked Gomez if he knew of anyone he could contact in order to assist me with the immediate issue at hand. Gomez immediately contacted the manager A. Marquez. Marquez asked me for my information in order to find the tag number where my order was placed. Marquez directed Gomez to locate my order manually. In collaborative efforts Marquez and Gomez were able to locate my order as it was misplaced onto a different tag number, therefore my order was unable to be dispensed by the kiosk. I am extremely thankful and grateful for the efforts both these gentlemen expressed. This certainly is worth the 5 star review. Kona cleaners has been my go to cleaners for the last 2-3 years and have always taken care of me, although this was a problem it turned out to get resolved in a professional manner going above and beyond! read more

Went for a simple jeans hem, paid full price for original stitching, and they took a shortcut and bunched up the excess jeans material on the inside of the jeans instead of cutting off the material and doing an actual original hem. This makes the jeans look bulky and heavy at the leg opening. Had to get it fixed at another tailor. The interior of the store is fancy and new but the actual services suck lol read more

First time going to Konas and I downloaded the app. The very kind lady was helping me with an alteration for a coat. On the app there was a coupon section and I claimed the $10 off for first time downloads and she said the total would be $30. I come back 2 weeks later and someone else working told me that code did not work for alterations even though the lady said she'd honor it this time. I'm not gonna make a big fuss over $10 so I paid the full price and asked if I could redeem that same code for a dry clean service and they said they couldn't do that either since the code was "used". Lost out on a good discount both times! Probably won't come back. The place is neat tho and the alteration on the coat is perfect! I dropped off a shirt and pants for dry cleaning. Was told it'd be done by the end of 2 days from then. I was pleasantly surprised when I got a notification saying my order was ready after only one day. Also, the 24/7 pickup system was great and it made it easy to pick up my items just before I needed them. However, the pricing is a bit expensive at around $11 for just the two items. Otherwise, great experience and I would use their services again! read more

24 hour automated pickup? Lies. I went to pickup my husband's work shirts last night, and the door was locked with no way to get in. The open sign was lit and I could see the automated pickup kiosk, but again, no guidance anywhere on how to get in. I checked the emails and texts they sent me - nothing. I looked on the their website - nothing. Download the app - nothing. Looked at my pickup ticket - NOTHING. I eventually got in because they happened to mention the access code to my husband when he dropped the shirts off. I've been there several times and I was never told a single thing about an access code. I now have three mosquito bites from standing outside their door trying to figure out how I can get in. It's just ridiculous. They also charged me $22 for the last dress I brought in to have cleaned because they said it was designer. I told them it wasn't designer (I paid $7 for it at a thrift store and if you Google the label nothing comes up). Yet they insisted it was designer, so $22 it is. On another occasion, I brought my wedding dress in to be cleaned. I asked how much it would cost, and she said there were two prices for wedding dresses - one for a simple dress and one for a more elaborate dress. She proceeded to read me the description of each. Elaborate dresses had lace, beads, sequins, etc. My dress has none of that. It was plain white synthetic fabric so she said it would be the "simple" price. I get a call the next day saying that the dress is fluffy enough that it's still considered elaborate. Okaaayyy. I need it cleaned so I tell them to go ahead anyway. Except they won't clean it until I come back in and sign a waiver releasing them of liability. I'm an incredibly busy person. I asked them if they could email me the form and I could sign it and send it back. They said no. Why wasn't I given the form when I dropped the dress off? It's just been one thing after the next. I'm giving two stars instead of one because all the employees I've interacted with have been very sweet and polite. I appreciate their kind service. read more

I have been a consistent customer of Kona Cleaners for the past 2 years. We have provided a lot of business while we have been customers and I am disappointed the way our latest cleaning was handled. I had an all white, almost new comforter that I sent in a few months ago to be cleaned. The comforter was cleaned and came back in a Kona cleaners bag. When the same comforter needed to be cleaned again, I folded my comforter in the clear comforter bag previously provided by Kona cleaners. As usual, I placed the comforter bag and an additional Kona cleaners dry cleaning bag with clothes outside to be picked up. Both items were picked up from my doorstep as usual. After over a month of not receiving my comforter, I sent an email to customer service. I worked with Karla who explained to me that they had no trace of ever picking up the comforter. I explained that an additional bag with clothes was left outside with the comforter and that bag's contents had already been cleaned and returned. She continued to explain that there was still no record of my comforter. I then received an email with a picture of a white comforter that appeared to be similar to mine. I was sent a photo and thought that it must be my comforter. When I received this comforter, I was disappointed to see upon opening it that it was not my comforter. The material was completely different. The comforter has been returned back to Kona and I will not use Kona cleaners in the future as there are now two comforters missing that they cannot identify the owners and as stated in my email there was no initiation of compensation for my lost comforter. This email received no reply from Kona cleaners. I was happy with services until this incident and I'm very disappointed in how it was handled. read more
