I chose this hotel for my son and I while we were in town for some doctors appointments and shopping. We checked in with a wonderful reservation desk clerk who was not professional, but friendly and helpful. It was a very hot day, and the room on the second floor was a welcome respite from the searing temperatures. I really appreciated that they have the room already cooled to 68° when we arrived. The refrigerator was also chilled and ready to go, even though it didn't keep its temperature after I put my items inside. One of the reasons that we chose this hotel was because guests had raved about the breakfast offered free with stay. The next morning when I went down to look at it, it was the same average hotel breakfast; a bit disappointing with the powdered and reconstituted eggs and greasy sausage, and make your own waffles. I have definitely seen better at other hotel chains. So, we skipped breakfast and I opted to get a burrito across the freeway at a hole in the wall Mexican joint embedded in a gas station. The room itself was comfortable and clean, but definitely needs an uplift as it is pretty dated, especially the bathroom. That's said, I would stay here again based on the good service and the well air-conditioned rooms. read more

The room itself is okay at best. Seems pretty outdated and the bottom of the tub was dirty which isn't ideal for anybody especially my two kids. The pillows were comfortable but the bed was a little shakey, the pull out couch bed was absolutely terrible. The microwave pretty much didn't work but the fridge did get very cold. No front desk employee present in the AM which is concerning, what if somebody needed something? Also breakfast options weren't great, bread was going stale but the employees working the breakfast area were attentive and friendly. Overall it's fine I suppose for the price, but for the same price you can maybe stay somewhere better. I can say as a tourist, it's in a convenient spot. read more

This place is a little outdated but nice and clean, beds were ok and breakfast pretty standard, my biggest complaint is the AC unit we had, even in April where the day temperatures was about 80 it struggled to keep up at night, I would hate to deal with that in the summer. read more

Clarion Suites in St. George what's a nice place to stay at for what we paid. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. There were a lot of options for the complementary breakfast. Such as a waffle machine, oatmeal, sausage, eggs, and cinnamon rolls. Lots of people have complained about the noise. The hotel was very full when we were there and we had zero issues with the noise. It's close to the freeway, so it was easy to head out on our adventures quickly. read more

The rooms are spacious with a love sofa and larger fridge to hold plenty of food and microwave. The bathroom is also really big with massive counter space and the basic amenities. The only downfall staying here is the noise from the freeway, when I stay I have to wear earplugs otherwise you can hear the cars all day and night. When the tv is on it filters the noise a bit. Really wish there was better sound proofing in the rooms. You can walk right over to black bear diner if you choose not to eat the continental breakfast which is really convenient. read more

It's not bad, but it's definitely not the best. The hotel is a just above average. First night of getting here, my wife and I were actually liking the room and service. That was until I found one of our pillow sheets that was covered in makeup. Called down to the front desk and got an immediate response however to fixing it. The girl seemed liked she was alone for the night, but she was very nice and very professional about it. She even brought us a new pillow. Second day was pleasant. We came back to a clean room. Third day was again very nice, came back to a clean room, but one of our pillow sheets had a blood spot on it. Fourth and final day we went to breakfast and a child spilt hot coco all over a table. Of course with this new generation that takes no responsibility nor seem to care about etiquette and manners, the child got up and walked away from the mess without trying to clean it up themselves, or notifying an employee. Though there would have to be an employee around to notify. That spill sat there for a good 15 minutes, before a woman walked out to clean the mess with a mean look on her face, while yelling out, "Oh my God!" When she saw the mess. If you're looking for a place that is fairly well priced and cheap, considering our current day and time with how expensive everything is, I would recommend this place. You will have to understand though that housekeeping is somewhat good, however, their attention to detail is lacking. And the food services for breakfast look like they're all pissed off at something. Now I get when a child spills something and it's a big mess that will make anybody mad, however, even in those situations you do have to have a little bit of professionalism and not yell out. I made a res on Friday 10/4 through Priceline. One hour later I had to cancel because I found out that the funeral we were going to had been cancelled due to the people doing the memorial service had Covid. I had paid for Travel Insurance. Both Priceline and the Clarion Hotel in Bakersfield North refused my refund. Priceline said they would send me a claim form which asking for twice I never received. This is a scam. How can you make a reservation and within 1 hour cancel and not get a refund. No one was out anything except me for $108.00. Clarion insisted that we would have to get a refund from Priceline and Priceline said if we got a refund it would have to come from Clarion. Stay away from Priceline and Clarion as they are scamming people, especially since I paid for cancellation insurance and am also now out that money also. read more

First I want to give a big shout out to Kaitlyn C. She worked the front desk. She was so nice a friendly. Remembered us when we came back 2 days later. Showed concern because I had fallen and had to go to the ER. She made the stay much more pleasant! Clean room and comfortable bed. Everything was nice. The hot tub and pool area was nice. We used the hot tub and enjoyed it. They had breakfast that was sufficient. Eggs, waffles, potatoes, sausage, cereal hot and cold. Toast, yogurt, french toast dips etc. Restaurants a few feet away. We had the king suite with jetted tub. My husband used the tub and said it was not good. Kinda like a bubble tub. I couldn't try it due to my injuries. Other then that we had a good stay. Stayed 2 nights and booked again for 1 night 2 days later. We'd recommend. read more

Value: we got a pretty good price through Priceline. $62.00 per night plus tax. Staff: very friendly and helpful Room: large room and bathroom. We had a king bed and sofa bed. The bed was fine, a bit on the firm side. Cleanliness: I feel like this could be improved. The couch in the room really needs a cleaning. Our room wasn't stocked well. There wasn't enough drinking cups and I am pretty sure the lotion bottle had been pre-used. Overall I felt like the place could have used some TLC. Pool: big pool and spa. We didn't swim, but it looked clean. Breakfast: there were a lot of choices! Scrambled "eggs". Pretty sure they were made from the liquid eggs from out of a carton, waffles, oatmeal with toppings, sausage, biscuits and gravy, potatoes, then the usual continental breakfast stuff. Overall: if we can get a good price again, we would stay there again. It's great for traveling through and staying a night. read more

Planed a last minute trip to St George easter weekend, so there wasn't many options in hotels. Chose the Clarion because I saw the reviews were pretty good and we planned on being out most of the day. But I am very disappointed. We were driving from Las Vegas to Zion national park, and needed a place to stay in between. I considered next door Springdale, but found St. Georges at half the price. No need for directions as the Clarion Suites sign could be seen from the freeway by even the most daft driver, so says the wife, getting tired of me asking for directions. First impression: two story building, one block from the freeway, exterior corridors, plenty of free parking surrounding the building, built like a motel but with parking a ways away from your room. Well landscaped lawns and plants. Older structure, as the newer structures favor interior corridors with outside balconies. It was 84 degrees when we arrived, tongues hanging out of our mouths, panting thirst. Front desk, not wanting two bodies on their doorstep, got us two complimentary filled water bottles, along with a bag of microwave popcorn. While I was there, I picked up the free copy of USA Today. This was a 'free' room acquired through accumulation of points, using our comfort inn credit card. Not free in a real sense, but as a reward for staying at comfort inns in California. I've stayed in 'free' rooms before at comfort inns, and this one assigned to us was no different: ground floor room, under the stairwell, near the ice machine -the rooms nobody else wants. They assume you won't complain, as you don't pay for the room. I always try to avoid first floors -less secure, easy for strangers to look in, noisy with footfalls from the floor above, dark due to the second floor exterior corridor blocking out the sunlight, and hard to get a good night's sleep, due to cars arriving late and leaving early right outside your window. So I expected the worse, when I opened the door. Extra room with a suite area including a full length sofa in a reading area right next to the front door, separated by a short 'vanity' wall for changing your pants next to the bed. Rug on floor was clean, but commercial grade, and uncomfortable to walk on with bare feet. As usual they cut corners with no padding underneath the rug. The usual amenities: flat screen cable TV, microwave, mini refrigerator, free wifi, iron with ironing board -they expect you to iron your own clothes and make yourself presentable in front of all the messy kids during breakfast! Tight fit into the bathroom -more room could be made by having the bathroom door swing outwards. Sink, toilet and whirlpool in one room. Yes, you heard right -a whirlpool! Hallelujiah! Comfortable bed, but the built in wall AC was a previous century version -loud enough to wake the dead, let alone drown out the noises of the nearby freeway, or the riff raft horsing around in the pool. Several restaurants within walking distance, including a Big Bear Diner next door. Complimentary hot breakfast, including scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, waffles. Excellent orange juice. We were just in time for breakfast, with me grabbing several oranges for the road. Now if my ex was here, she would have filled a shopping bag with the apples and oranges, before leaving. Was disappointing for being "all suites", the generally very high reviews around the internet and the prices they tend to charge. When you first enter you see customer service awards all over the place ... I didn't find it to be that, exactly. If you're in Choice Privileges they also put you out on front street at the front desk with a "welcome list" that has your full name on it ... yeah I really didn't care for that. Aren't there laws about hotel desk clerks not revealing guest names to randos? Got to the room and it smelled like mildew. The old, busted carpet the likely culprit. Rooms are also only a "suite" in the technical sense, it's a pretty standard Clarion / Comfort Inn type room with a half-divider and a sofa. Their TV system is the same one the Caesars casino properties have, lol. But this one has HBO. It's an OK system, but I notice the more middle-upper Choice properties always seem to have worse TV selections than the more budget ones (Econo, Rodeway) for some odd reason. Aside from all the other stuff, the biggest problem is that the floor (and bed) shakes when someone walks near your room outside and steps heavy enough. The walls are pretty thin and you get banging from the room next door too. Had a crap night of sleep. It's an older roadside motel building that I don't think was really suited to an upper-midscale brand. Breakfast was better than usual, as they usually are at Clarions for whatever reason. That's about the nicest thing I can say about it. Probably not going back. First Clarion I really didn't like ... but even if I did, them putting people's business on blast at the front desk like that is enough to keep me away. read more

My mother, son and I stayed at the Clarion Hotel in St. George, UT for the Senior Games. The room was clean, the free breakfast had lots of variety and the food was great! Customer service was great as well. My mom left her jacket in the closet. I called the hotel to see if they found it. They did. I asked if they could mail it to my mother in Nebraska. My mom received her jacket a couple of days after I called Clarion. Thanks to the staff and the manager. We will definitely stay there again the next time we're in St. George, UT. read more

This is a pretty good hotel. Room is kind of small and so is the bathroom. Your would probably expect the coffee maker to be somewhere by the microwave, right? Well I found it in the bathroom... The room was very cold (in my opinion). The elevator to the second floor only holds two people (because of COVID) unless you are a family. Receptionist at the desk when we got there seemed very nonchalant and was not the most welcoming. Breakfast was served downstairs and you could take it up to your room. They were serving scrambled eggs, potatoes, French toast, oatmeal, and sausage. The oatmeal was pretty good and so were the potatoes. Moving on to the parking... You can park right by your room and there were a lot of empty spaces. Overall, I would go back here again! read more

We selected St. George to overnight in based on our mileage for the day, and I am sincerely glad we did. While we are not new to the Choice Hotels chain - we have about 70 nights lodging with their chain alone the past couple of years - this was by far the finest place we have stayed in that time. The rates were more than reasonable, which is why we made the selection to begin with. The room was clean and absent of the usual wear and tear, the complimentary toiletries very welcome, and the breakfast... well, let me say this: we left a nice tip for the attendant. We have paid for brunch buffets in restaurants that were not that good. Besides the usual 'hot breakfast' items of waffles and biscuits and gravy there was sausage, bacon, eggs, hash browned potatoes, french toast strips and more. This was well beyond the cold cereal and maybe a hot starch most places offer. This wasn't a continental breakfast, but then they do have to compete with the Black Bear Diner next door, which is normally a favorite of ours. Glad we decided to check out the hotel's offering first. it saved a lot of travel time for us and satisfied us well. Not to mention diabetics can stick to their plan. We have been through St. George before, and now we know where we will be staying in the future. Great value for the money. We often have to pay more for an Econo-Lodge stay. This place is a credit to the Choice Hotels brand. read more

Gotta love a place who loves dogs! We specifically stayed at this hotel because they were pet friendly. Upon check in they give you this cute note with a dog treat "addressed to your pet" stating best practices (great execution). And they place you in the back of the property so there's some grass and waste disposal bags and trash cans for easy potty breaks and quiet from neighbors. The room itself is standard decent hotel level, nothing outstanding but definitely a nice room. There's a microwave and fridge which is always a plus in rooms. Docked one star because the tub wasn't draining properly and backed up showers are a huge travel pet peeve of mine. But they definitely made up for the experience with the best free continental breakfast I have ever had. So much variety and different options than other hotel offerings like french toast sticks, along with great scrambled eggs and standard waffle maker and pastries. My father made reservations with their central number and noted that he's bringing his dog, a shih tzu. No one informed him that there would be a problem and didn't mention an additional fee. When we arrived here we informed the desk clerk that we had a dog and she sternly informed us that they do not accept pets. My father calmly stated that he mentioned his dog while making the reservations. She insisted that they DON'T accept pets and was talking to my father like he was the one in error. Then she informed us that we were not going to get the room he had originally reserved and placed us in a different room and also charged him an additional $200 for his dog. Umm...didn't she just say they don't accept pets? Yet she gave us a small pet pack with a treat for the dog that the hotel provides. This place is a joke! We entered the tiniest hotel room of all time and it smells like a cheap beauty supply store. The closet is also broken. Thanks Clarion Suites for the upmost crappy service. read more

It was a good hotel, but did not live up to my idea of 4-5 stars. The lighting in the rooms is pretty bad, and they're pretty dark. The water pressure in the shower was also pretty bad and the shower head was broken and wouldn't change settings:( The breakfast was good, and the staff all seemed very kind! Just needs some improvement! Also was not exactly in the cheapest category, so having these problems just made it a little more frustrating. Overall a good place to stay but just not the highest quality! read more

We were very pleased with our stay here. We came down for the dickens festival because we were vendors. They had a special, and it was a nice location. Also, they accept pets, which was awesome, with a reasonable $10 per fee. We had to extend our stay and they were very accommodating. They always had fresh baked or heated up ha food at the front desk, and the breakfast was very nice. It only went till 9:30 but that's okay. We will stay here again. Highly recommended. This is a mixed review because I'm not sure who to point my finger at just yet. I used booking.com to reserve my 2 night stay here. My reservation cost $216.01 but upon check in I was charged $277.94. I really didn't think anything because I assumed there were additional fees. But my first morning I wake up and my card was charged 3 times with 3 different amount, totaling $492!!! I talked with front desk and they released one payment, which is fine. Then I call booking.com and they tell me it's the hotel charging me. Although booking.com is saying they will get my money back, let's keep in mind, it's a Saturday, I just started my vacation and I'm out $500 unnecessary dollars which we all know I won't see til we'll after my trip is over. The inconvenience of either booking.com's error or the hotels error is a vacationers worst nightmare. Besides that, parking is ample, rooms are a nice size. My mother booked a room of her own and had dirty glass cups with lipstick stains on them, she reported it and was told someone would clean and replace the next day. I've been booking hotels through booking.com for over 5 years. I'm not sure if I will stop using them or just not stay here again or suggest this hotel. I wasn't expecting much for a quick stop-over while exploring Zion, but we actually had a great experience with this hotel. The room was huge - in addition to 2 queen sized beds there was a pretty big couch - and everything was clean. The beds were comfortable, the shower was hot, and most importantly, the place was QUIET. I was a bit nervous with the location of our room - facing a big open courtyard - but honestly we slept like babies and didn't hear anything all night. Hotel staff was pleasant, too. We didn't try the free breakfast because we walked down to the little cafe across from registration (which was really good). The only negative for me was the front window; our drapes couldn't close, and I don't think anyone else's could either, judging by what we could see looking around the courtyard. The thin gauzy white curtains shut, but the thicker ones didn't. While I appreciated the outside of the hotel being well-lit, as it definitely made me feel safe, we were a bit put-off by the light flooding into the room. Luckily we wound up being able to clip the two sides of drapes together to block out some of the light while we slept. I would definitely recommend this hotel. For the price, you can't top it. read more

Stayed here while we took a trip to Zion National Park. The rooms were very clean, the beds & pillows were comfortable. They have a heated pool, which my kids liked. Their included breakfast was really good. We ate breakfast every morning we were there. It wasn't one of those lame continental breakfasts with just fruits & breads. They actually had waffles, cereal, eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, muffins etc. Etc.... and much more! I was impressed with this place with their accommodations & with the lower prices per night. The lady at the front desk was very nice & was always asking me if I needed anything. They never hesitated if I needed something or asked for an extra towel or had a question. Hotel first, I stayed her for nearly a month moving into the area. The spaciousness of the room was nice even though I paid WAY too much for the time that I was there. The water pressure in the showers is HORRIBLE, but the bed was VERY comfortable. FYI Utah is acting like the pandemic is no longer an issue and no one wears masks. Overall it was a comfortable stay but is overpriced. I'm heading to my next motel and will review it at the end of November. read more

Checking-in was fast, front desk staff are friendly, We noticed soon as we enter our room it Smells fresh, room cleaned, has sofa also microwave refrigerator & coffee maker, ac good, very close to parking we were at the ground floor, close to restaurants, less than 2miles so as Walmart and Costco is around 5miles from the hotel, only thing is above us we can hear walking and someone stamping on/off till very late in the evening, reported it to the front desk and offered us to move to another room, used the laundry room, softener out of stock so i lost 0.50cents but after i called front desk they gave me what i needed. Mostly all tourist spots are very close from the hotel. Free breakfast was great there's lots of choices i.e. sausages; scrambled and hard boiled eggs, pastries, fresh fruits, all kinds or cerials, oatmeals, yogurt, coffee/tea; tater tots; french toast sticks; muffins; bagels, etc. and kitchen staff are also friendly, daily housekeeping and she is also friendly.
