Overall, I came here for my daughter's Volleyball game and it is a beautiful school with a small gym but very clean. I like how there was also a food truck there as well. The only reason why I did not give it a 5 star is because the parking stalls are a bit compact (and being that I am originally from Hawaii, we have compact stalls there) and someone scratched my car when they opened their door.

At first glance, it checks some important boxes: clean buildings, a decent variety of after-school programs, and a lot of buzz about being "one of the better schools" in the area. The campus is well-kept and looks great, and my kids have genuinely enjoyed a few of the clubs they've tried. I'll also say that some of the teachers are passionate and communicative. You can tell they care. But unfortunately, the strong ones feel outnumbered by the ones who seem to have checked out. And that's where things start to unravel. Too often, we've seen teachers point fingers at students or parents instead of taking ownership when something clearly goes wrong in the classroom. That mindset makes it hard to trust the process. Meanwhile, the people running the show? It feels like their main goal is image control. Even when serious concerns are raised, the focus shifts to silencing criticism instead of solving problems. Don't even get me started on the pickup line. It's pure chaos. Traffic spills into the streets, everyone's blocking everyone else, and there's no system in place to fix it. You'll spend 30+ minutes in your car daily, just hoping no one gets into an accident. As for academics, it's hit or miss. In some cases, the material seems to come straight from pre-made internet templates--no adaptation, no passion, and sometimes, no clear understanding of the topic from the person teaching it. Honestly, I've found better explanations on YouTube. Other things worth noting: There have been situations involving extremely unprofessional conduct between staff members--yes, during the school day. I've also seen confidential student information passed around carelessly, which is incredibly upsetting for any parent. And the school's reaction to these concerns? Defensive. Instead of addressing the issue, they turned their attention to the parent who spoke up, even threatening to revoke their campus access. That says a lot about their priorities. Bottom line: There are bright spots here, but they're clouded by serious problems in leadership, culture, and accountability. If you're considering this school, go in with your eyes wide open. It might look good on paper, but reality paints a more complicated picture.

Normally events like this is like herding kittens. The school seemed well kept and clean. I did also have experience with the children pick up and drop off. There are many dedicated teachers and staff at this school..... but overall the community is very "clique" and if you're not cool enough then you won't have the same experience as the "favorites".... Class sizes are huge and the teachers are overwhelmed. My sons classes last year both had 30+ kids..... The school building does not allow for that many students but they over pack the school to get more money. For example there is a lower grade wing and an upper grade wing but b/c of over crowding the 6th grade classes are split up with one being in the upper grades and one being next to kindergarten.... The SPED resource room is shared among 4-5 adults trying to simultaneously "teach" core subjects all at the same time with dividers in the room. The room is often more chaotic then the actual classroom. The other interventionists use pillows on the floor to pull kids for reading intervention. None of the specials(art/music/PE) teachers have a classroom. They travel to the classrooms on carts. There is no true self-contained classroom as they are trying to do some sort of full inclusion model.... so children with extreme disabilities are in the same room as their peers for the majority/entire school day. This is a disadvantage to the students who are trying desperately to learn but are constantly distracted by the outburst of special needs children. In order to pull off a full inclusion model the school would need to actually hire much more SPED staff to assist within the classroom. The way they currently operate is not safe for the students with adverse behaviors nor the typical peers within the classrooms..... It also often leaves the students with higher needs receiving less quality instruction and more "glorified babysitting" to just pass the time during the day...... The current SPED staff do not have an in house leader either... The split second, in the moment decisions are left to the teachers and staff b/c the SPED director is not in the state of Nevada. All in all when it came down to wanting to feel a sense of belonging and community, this school did not fulfill our family's needs. Really thought that the sports program would bring more to my kids lives but my sons didn't connect with the coach they way I had hoped. Was really hoping for a solid male role model for them but it didn't happen. My most recent issue with the school was that my older son has severe emotional disorders..... which is the ONLY reason I enrolled him at this school.... The promises to my son were not kept. They are not doing right by my child as promised and that is literally directly related to the "clique" situation and I'm not a favored parent anymore. He will be leaving the school as soon as I can figure ANYTHING else out.... like this weekend..... especially since the sports are expensive and he didn't make connections the way I had hoped. I'm disappointed b/c I trusted that this school truly had my family's best interest at heart..... but that is not the case. All in all, do your research before deciding on a school for your child(ren). I personally believe in charter over most CCSD schools, however it all depends on the staff and policies. I visited Escobedo Middle School for a CS training class through RPDP. It was my first time there…read more I did not see more than the 800 building, but what I did see was nice. The front parking lot is large and it was easy for me to park the truck. I walked in and the halls are wide and tall and decorated with positivity and team pennants. The colors are light and bright. The room we used for our class was well equipt to accommodate plugging in a couple dozen Chromebooks/ laptops. Chairs were comfortable. The big screen computer on the wall allowed us all to see the slide decks. Sound system was great. Bathrooms were large, clean and appreciated. The building manager was able to make sure the water was on for us right away when the class started. It was a good day! Thank you Escobedo MS for lending us your facilities.

Not acknowledgment. Not follow-up. Not even the courtesy of a reply. When school leadership chooses silence over action, it sends a clear message about priorities. Because the principal failed to respond, I was forced to escalate the matter to the superintendent, a step that should never be required for a parent advocating for their child. The lack of communication, urgency, and responsibility shown in this situation reflects a broader problem with administrative leadership. Parents should be deeply concerned about how issues are handled when they arise and whether school leadership is willing to do its job. This experience was disappointing, alarming, and entirely avoidable.
