We called Clark yesterday fearing the worst of the worst in bug infestation. Within 5 minutes of my wife's panicky call to the central office & us spraying the bedroom, Lorraine the inspector returned wife's call. (Fortunately, I had captured the ugly dead little critter & saved it in a small jar.) Lorraine asked me to text her a picture of the ugly little critter. PRAISE GOD! It was not what we feared. Ugly? Definitely! A bed bug? NO NO NO!!!! Ahhhhh.... peace of mind. Thank you, Lorraine!!! Thank you Clark..you were there when we needed you! Clark could have charged us unnecessarily...but they didn't. We couldn't have had faster, more knowledgeable or friendlier service!!! ...Ohhhh...the ugly dead little critter?...probably a hitchhiker from recently picked roses. read more

If you want services that you do not need and bad customer service, this is the place! I reached out to Clark's Pest Control at the beginning of January. They came to my home and advised the first step would be to set up some traps/poison and have someone from their team come look at our home to see if any additional work needed to be done which would come at an additional cost. Additional costs we were prepared for. The first service provider who assisted us sold us a plan which covered the initial appointment/set up AND the recurring visits every other month as follow up, a one time payment. When the second guy came he took a look at the foundation of our property and didn't even want to inspect it because the job was a lot bigger than anticipated and he advised the traps would do nothing. At that point we reached out to a contractor to see what needed to be done and at the end of it all we spent over $12,000.00 on repairs and kept the pest services because our issue was repaired and the traps and follow-up visits would bring us peace of mind AND they were already paid for. In March I received an invoice for recurring services from Clark Pest Control which threw me for a loop because I had been advised the recurring services were paid for at the beginning. I called their 831-442-5184 number on the invoice and spoke to a manager and that's when it all went downhill. The manager I spoke to was still in training, don't remember his name. I explained the situation to him and he would interrupt and try to catch me in a lie or go back on my words as if I was trying to lie to him. He would constantly interrupt me and say "did you read the contract? did you read the contract?" I have never ever felt so disrespected by an employee anywhere. I called again a few hours later to speak to a second manager and let them know about my interaction and explained the situation. He advised they couldn't do anything because the follow-up appointments are conducted by a third party that needs to be paid out but he advised he would see what he could do and that he would try to have at least half of the bill covered. I gave him a few days and never heard back. I followed up again given the same response and I never heard back again. My last call was an attempt to follow up, I left a message with the person I spoke to and they advised they would give the manager a note to reach out to me. Still haven't heard anything and received another invoice. I genuinely think this is the worst customer experience I have ever had because I was treated like a liar who is trying to pull a fast one and as a grown adult who pays all their bills on time this was a complete slap to the face. Just be careful they'll have you sign contracts for services that will nottt solve your problem and the second a hiccup comes up they will interrogate you and treat you like a liar and never call you back. read more

Be wary of using this company. They don't know how to identify termites even though they are professionals. They are cheap for a reason. Very untrustworthy and not worth the headache. Horrible company to deal with. If you are a customer and have auto pay make sure you are watching your bills - they increased ours on a few occasions with zero notification. Their rodent services are questionable- they won't go under your house so be aware of that if you are needing that service. I was a customer on their termite program for many years and would NOT recommend them based on my experience. I was a Clark customer for about 9 months until my monthly bill doubled without notice. I contacted the office and asked for them to send me a copy of the new contracted price and all I was given was the new invoice. I was enrolled in auto pay at the lower rate so out of no where I received a past due statement even though Clark was taking my original agreed upon monthly payments out. The 1-800 staff was very nice and couldn't understand why I was being charged a higher rate and transferred me to a local office staff to resolve the issue which she didn't and was very rude. Clarks has been TOP NOTCH through and through. We had a serious mouse problem, and got multiple quotes from other local pest companies. We were blown away by Omar, who did our initial inspection, and his work ethic/diligence was much appreciated. Richard, who did the work/sealed the holes, is all smiles and clearly loves his job. And then there is Johnny, our delightful technician, who comes by at a moment's notice to set traps and makes sure all our concerns are addressed. Signed and agreed to work agreement and pricing with Clark employee who was very knowledgeable. He cleared work agreement with headquarters. Technician came out to do work and said could not do work as agreed for that price. Needed to check with "headquarters." Never heard back until I reached out by email one month later. Said they could not control gophers even though it was in signed work agreement! Very disappointed. Never even tried!! Never even said what they could do. Not good customer service at all. UPDATE: after my review owner reached out and went well beyond normal responding and correcting their internal communication. The managers came out personally and apologized and took corrective action. Appreciate their response and renewed my work agreement with them. They care about their customers and service. read more

I have been using Clark Pest Control for close to 20 years, so you could say I'm a satisfied customer! We hired them to get rid of ants and spiders, but after talking to the technician, we also went for the weed package and spraying for fleas. More than happy! If I happen to have a weed explosion in between visits, I just call them and they are back that day or the next. read more

I have no idea which location served me, they came to my house. Originally, many years ago, I was solicited door to door by Clark. They did a decent enough job as long as all I needed was the basics. However, I recently started keeping bees in the back yard. They were fine with this and I confirmed with them that the chemicals they use are bee-friendly. Then, a few months later, I called them because I was getting a large number of yellow jackets in the yard. I don't know where their nest is (I can't find one in my yard and neither can my new exterminator), but they were aplenty and since yellow jackets are aggressive (unlike bees) and nasty, I didn't really want them. When I asked them if they had a way to get rid of the yellow jackets without harming the bees, their suggestion was that I "call a beekeeper". Literally, word for word, that's what they said. When I explained that I _WAS_ a beekeeper and that's why I cared about not harming the bees, they basically told me that I should call a more knowledgeable beekeeper but they wouldn't help me. I'm now using Alta and they seem to be doing a great job so far. The yellow jackets have (mostly) disappeared, the bees are happy and productive, and things are back to normal, so I guess, Clark, I don't need you after all. read more

We recently changed over from another pest control company whom we were with over 12 years to Clark pest control. They have done about three service calls the first bring the most expensive. The first service call I guess went ok. The second time they came out was a day it rained. (Saw it on our surveillance cameras) I called and asked them if it was still ok to spray although it had rained? The answer was everything was fine. Ok. We have been having more and more issues with spiders indoors and outdoors. My wife and I are more concerned of the indoors because we do have children and a new born. I also noticed the heavy spider webs on our shed, eves and fence. From my understanding when we signed the contract that was one thing they would do every time, removal of spiderwebs. I have left two messages at our local office with no response back. I'm wondering what's going on or weather they even care that I have called with concerns. If I can't get this resolved, I will be asking for our money back and going elsewhere. read more

The saga continues (you should be able to see my previous review below). Still no call from Clarke, so I called the 1-800 number hoping to get someone higher up. No, it connected me to the Salinas number. After a description of what has happened so far, the office offered to connect me with the technician. This time I asked why I have to chase him down. Why don't they have the information. The office said he hadn't turned in the paper work and they offered to connect me with him again. Several attempt to explain that I am the customer and that I shouldn't have to chase after one of their employees, I just gave up and let me connect me. Turns out, that after always being asked for and giving my address, slowly and clearly, the address they sent the technician wasn't mine, so he thought everything was completed. When he began to describe my minor rat problem to me, I could tell something was off. I had to remind him of all the entry points he said he had found and indicated on his iPad. That's when he discovered the discrepancy in the addresses. So did he call the wrong house on July 3rd? If the customers were confused (surely they would have said something about not having called the company), why didn't he call the office and check the account or ask for the phone number I left? Again, we come back to the dreadful lack of communication. So now he is supposed to send me a PDF of what he sent in. He says that he already sent it in to the office. If so, why haven't I received any estimate or any kind of contact from them at all? You would think my frustrated calls would give them a clue that they've got something wrong. But instead of looking into to it, the office has me try to track down the problem. That makes no sense at all. - - - - - - Update, he did not send me a PDF of what he sent in. He has sent me the the work order, which is good, but there is no diagram of the entry points and so the work order is too vague. read more

They removed two large families of roof rats from my home and secured many entry points into my attic and lower crawlspaces, and replaced all of my roof insulation. Just be very clear in what you want and make sure the local rep is very clear in what they are offering. the local rep quoted one price for one job, not the yearly service. He asked if we wanted the yearly service, we were explicitly clear we didn't want it...just the one time rodent removal. so we moved forward and made arrangements for them to return, when the rep returned to set the traps he said he wouldn't move forward without us signing up for the 1-year service. Ugh. We said no thanks, we'll find someone else. There's nothing worst than feeling mislead. He wasted his time and ours. I called and spoke with a supervisor at Clark and he explained how it works and handled everything well. Hopefully a case of 'miscommunication" and not a practice. read more

We have used Clark Pest Control for ten years with decent results -- adequate work, accurate invoicing (for which we paid sent in payments through bill pay at our bank, i.e. we initiated the payments). Then, in April, we ran into a considerable financial snafu, caused by a computer error that debited our account multiple accounts, and an intractible office staff, unwilling to recitfy the situation. We had to get the bank involved and have the wrong amounts re-credited. The regional manager learned what happened, contacted us, and the situation was rectified, including offering us an incentive to stay with the company. So, while we were frustrated for a while, all worked out fine, and we decided to stay with the company. read more

I am not 100% sure if they came from this branch, but I can tell you the service was terrible. Not only they didn't cover the whole house, but a week later we were still invaded!! So we called them to request the "between services guarantee". Same guy came....he didn't touched a thing and when I started looking for him to ask him how were things going I realized he had left!!! Not only he didn't mentioned he was leaving and he didn't say a word about the situation, but he had left the main door wide open!!!! Cancelled my 6 months program straight away.... This business rips off homeowners and makes big promises that it doesn't deliver. I hired them to get rid of rats inside and outside of my home and to spray to prevent termites. They charged me close to $4000. I got scammed. They have not caught a single rat. Hell I caught 4 of them before I called. They have done nothing about the rats and mice, I'm skeptical about the work in my attic, and they made me take everything out of two closets, including closet poles and shelves. Then they told me that they didn't need to use the crawlspace in one of those closets. Fucking idiots! And most of the time the employees who show up look to be less than 20 years old and have no clue what theyre doing. My only regret here is that the lowest rating is one because that is definitely not low enough to adequately rate this company and their service. We recently needed a termite inspection for a refinance. We had bought the home 6 months prior and it was inspected, tented and treated at that time. Due to the short time frame we didn't want to wait for them to come out and called Clark. HUGE MISTAKE! They sent an inspector out and he said he found several problems and that it would be about $3,000. for the repairs and another $2,000+ for the required tenting. I told him that the other company had just made all the repairs a short time ago. He didn't care. Due to the expense I called two other companies, including the original one. They neither one found issues and the original company did the inspection and said things were fine and issued the report at a total cost of $180.00. After spending $295 with Clark, I took the time to write to the owner and explained the situation and what we had been through. Evidently he was to busy to call me but had his little boy call. He wanted to know what they could do to make me happy. I told him to refund the cost for the so called "inspection" that was confirmed by two companies to be wrong. He said he would do that but only if he sent yet another inspector and did the inspection again to see if they could find things wrong! When I told him I had no need for that and would certainly not let them inspect again. He said he couldn't take anyone's word for the work unless he had one of his "experts" re do the inspection. Incompetent once and he wants to come out and do it again. I told him I didn't need the money that bad and suggested what he could do with it. I WOULDN'T USE CLARK PEST CONTROL TO RID MYSELF OF AN ANT LET ALONE FOR ANY OTHER WORK. THEY ARE TERRIBLE AT WHAT THEY DO AND THE OWNERS STATEMENT OF THEIR GOALS ARE CERTAINLY NOT ACCURATE. I CAN'T IMAGINE HOW THE SERVICE COULD BE ANY WORSE. AFTER WRITING THE OWNER AND TALKING TO HIS LITTLE BOY I CAN ASSURE YOU THE STATEMENT "THE SNAKE ROTS FROM THE HEAD" IS ABSOLUTELY ACCURATE HERE. I called to remove a wasp nest in my front yard. They said they would give me an estimate when the guy came (he came late). He said, $450 dollars---really? I called another company and it maximally would be $250 (still high but a whole lot less). Pin them down first before waiting to get something that needs to be removed sooner than later!! My response to my response from Clark: My reply to you is, yes another certified company came and removed them and also returned a few days later to ensure they were gone for $200 less than you!! read more

We have been Clark Pest Control customers for over 15 years now and have quite a history with them. (We did have another pest control service prior, but switched.) Clark Pest competently services our yard for snails, ants, spiders, weed control, and rodent control. Indoors, they have taken care of infestations of ants, mice, and Indian Meal Moths.The Indian Meal Moth infestation was a particularly challenging situation and each technician worked with us to provide helpful information and suggested preventative measures we could do. In fact, the area manager came out to personally help us out at one point. Thankfully, those pesky little moths are gone now.We find each service tech to be well trained, respectful, and timely. Our current man, Jason, is knowledgeable and is a hard worker to meet our needs. We are serviced every other month. From the start, we requested a call the day before so we could unlock our side gate for backyard service and every technician has done so without fail.We also have Clark's Termite Control yearly inspection protection and have been treated once. They have our confidence that their personnel know what they are doing and we couldn't be more pleased. Our Clark's chief termite inspector comes out each year and does his tap, tap, tap routine and provides us with a timely detailed report of his findings and recommendations. I need help on how to get rid of Clark Pest Control out of our lives. We had a flea problem from our cat in August 2014 so I called this company for help. That one treatment was around $200 and they offered a year's service for $101 every 2 months which includes treatment for almost all pests problems, including that flea treatment. I was told that I could cancel anytime. Come December 2014, after that one flea treatment and 2 outdoor spider sprays and 3 payments of $101 each, I called them and wanted to cancel. I was informed that the contract that I signed was for one year. So we paid their bills religiously and trusted that they were doing the outside spider treatments every other month. But I when I saw spider crawling inside the house and also outside, I called them again in March asking to cancel their service and I was told again of the contract that I signed for one year. We stopped paying and they threatened sending us to Collections and at the same time they stopped their service. Because of their threat to our credit, we were forced to pay their March invoice and they told us that it extended our contract to November 2015 because of skipping payment for a 2-month service. November 2015, my husband paid their invoice and tried to cancel but was told that when we re-opened our "contract" (this was when we paid their outstanding March 2015 invoice and asked them to do a treatment of the inside, which was supposed be included in their package), our "contract" was extended to March 2016. I NEED HELP GETTING RID OF CLARK PEST CONTROL OUT OF OUR LIVES!!! ANY SUGGESTION???? Please!!!! And warning - DO NOT USE CLARK PEST CONTROL. YOU WILL HAVE A HARD TIME GETTING RID OF THEM. read more

This is my second review of Clark's. My first review posted in Sept. 2016 was a "D" due to a rodent problem that returned as a result of their lack of proper servicing with change in staff, etc. I was contacted by regional management and local management immediately after posting my review and decided to give them a chance to fix the problem and earn my continued business. They came out to assess my property and put a plan in place. Additional traps and bait stations were added and repairs were made to areas of entry. After a couple months of monitoring, the problem seems to be under control again. I am updating this review because Clark's responded immediately to my poor review and they have been very responsive to address the problem. They waived 2 months service fee and made the necessary repairs and adjustments to my service schedule -and now the rodent problem seems to be under control again. It's only been two months, so time will tell if they continue to effectively service my property. However, I will say I have been impressed with how responsive they have been and feel hopeful that they will be able to continue to service my property long term. read more

Clark is sneaky, they tell you they do a great job then lock you into a year long, non-cancellable, contract with crappy service and unnecessary billing. They come out every two months when the products most pest control companies use last 3-6 months, why? Because they want to bill you more often and get more money. Don't go with Clark, go with a more local business, do your homework and find the best local guy, it will be worth it. read more
