The clerk was knowledgeable and friendly. The pricing is average and the checkout was fast today. Very knowledgeable about the specifics I was looking for basketball hoop. Although they didn't have it on display was able to refer me to 800 number sand also handle the assembly. Since everyone is hiding out was perfect day to stop in. There were a few other customers in the morning so there was plenty of help from the employees, but at busy times I have seen it difficult to get help. We typically stay to the sale rack and can be some really good prices, but other than that can buy things much cheaper at other stores. Took in my bike today because the rear brakes were locked up and was informed that unfortunately their main bicycle technician is out of town and there is about 2 weeks of back log. The gentleman who informed me of this asked me what I was bringing it in for. I said the rear brakes were locked up, so he helped me disassemble it, find where the problem was, and rectified the situation within 5 minutes. Shook my hand and told me to enjoy the summer weather. Will definitely be shopping at Dicks again due to their kindness and the fact that they go above and beyond. Thanks!

Tried to buy a pair of Hoka's 4th pair total from Dicks Sporting. This time at the Naperville, IL…read morelocation on 75th street. The shoe had a sale sign for $101.99. Original price was $179.99. Got to register and it came up as the original price. Had to get a manager "Josh" involved and he offered $10 off because he could not lower the price and admittingly made a mistake on the sticker. They even made accusations that someone in the back had already spoken to us about the "wrong tag" price. In order to cover for their mistake by someone in the shoe dept. In my experience as a loyal customer in other stores, More than often said store will acknowledge their mistake and honor the stickered price in order to maintain a good relationship with their loyal customers. Needless to say we walked out and they lost a sale and possibly a customer going forth. I at least will NOT be patronizing the Naperville store again for my needs.

So this women's medium was at best a women's small, maybe an extra small. Anyway, I wanted to exchange the T-shirt for the proper size. At this point I notice the fine print on the receipt that states that customized T-shirts cannot be returned or exchanged. I didn't see any warning to this effect when ordering. You would think that they would make that very visible, unless of course they don't mind screwing over their customers. Apparently, screwing you is fundamental to their business model.

I tried returning a pair of shoes I purchased 11 days ago (I'm returning them because I repurchased them $35 cheaper 2 days later). She won't return the shoes for me at the higher price - only the lower price. She said that's how it works when you "BOGO 50%", etc. - you always get the lowest price back. No... I have 2 separate orders, 2 different order numbers, purchased different days and 45 days to return the shoes. She says she can't "find" my order so she can't return them. She made a snide comment about how paying the extra $35 wouldn't be an issue for her. Must be nice to make bank working at finish line. I stood in the store for 45 minutes on hold with customer service only for them to just call her. She told them she has a limited system and can't see my order so the only thing I can do is come back at 2 when he manager gets in (after she already told me she was the manager and there's nothing else she can do). I'll make sure to call after 2pm to let her manager know how rude and unprofessional she was (long dark hair, piercings in her lip - I think her name was Celina). Not only that, but I asked about this sweatshirt (before all the shoe stuff happened) and she told me there's no other piece for it (mind you, there were multiple). I showed her the tag where it says it's a 2 piece outfit and told her it's selling as a 2 piece outfit online for $25. She basically said oh well and walked away. If you're a good employee, wouldn't that be something you check into? What a joke. Update: I went back and the manager, Ashton, was able to return the shoes no problem - looked up my order number (which above employee refused to do - she would only use my email and claimed no other way would work) and BAM, done. Situation rectified; however, I did explain to him what happened earlier and he didn't seem to care at all - no apologies for my frustration and time wasted. He alluded to the fact that he wasn't there so he doesn't know what happened but I was probably giving her the wrong order number (which 100% wasn't the case. I'm an avid shopper and I know my sh*t lol). I'm also a customer service rep so I know how people should be treated.

Second, the shoes are fairly priced compared to the boutique shops in the mall. But my friend purchased a pair ofr Steve Madden sandals for $40 here, which were the same price at a smaller shoe store. I don't really get how that's competition. Third, it doesn't look like they do sales. Compared to DSW (coupon promotions) and Shoe Carnival (always a BOGO sale), they don't offer anything at all. Last, the customer service here is non-existent. We waited in line for a very long time behind a mother and daughter and a group of 3 teen girls. One of the girls needed to charge her phone and actually asked the cashier where she could plug it in. The cashier had her unplug what looked like a carbon monoxide detector so she could plug in her phone. Here's a tip girls, stop taking photos of yourselves in the store and you won't suck up your battery. Once we got to the cashier, she seemed irritated with US instead. I'd have to be on a desperate shoe shopping mission to come back here. But you aren't going to find the impossible in these aisles, so what's the point?
