Extremely poor service, insurance invoicing was wrong and there is never anyone to speak with about it. All customer service is handled through an AI agent that isn't very good, even when I provide the correct insurance information nothing was sent to the insurance company. A representative from the insurance company tried calling Clarkson and had the same problem, no way to exit the AI agent and talk to a human. Horrible experience. After waiting for a month to get in they claim they gave away our appointment. Even after we received confirmation text the day of the appt. This is a poorly run location. It took me weeks to get an appointment and the only time available was during working hours. I made arrangements so I could take this appointment. Then they called me to cancel because the optometrist now wouldn't be there. Fine, not happy but fine. Got a Saturday appointment (which they don't offer on their website scheduling) lo and behold they changed on me again, at the last minute they asked me to come in earlier the same day, fine, go in. Several people in front of me for the same time for ONE optometrist. I came in earlier at their suggestion only to be made to sit and wait. They lost my business for good. And I didn't get the sense that they really were concerned that I was unhappy. read more

I have several issues with Clarkson Eyecare, so I will keep it simple and leave out my personal anger. You can decided for yourself whether you want to risk involving yourself, or loved ones, with this company. A year after my appointment, Clarkson called me EVERY week day at 8:00 am to make an appointment. I called the office to have this reduced, and nothing was done. I sent an email to the company asking them to stop harassing me with these phone calls. They finally stopped a week after I sent the email. My son wanted new glasses before leaving for college on August 11. Knowing that it takes 10-14 business days to get our glasses' order, I took him to an appointment on July 23. I called their office on August 5th, and asked for the status of my son's glasses. The office informed me that they had lost his order, but they would get it sent in that day. Knowing that I would probably not get my son's glasses until after he had moved into college, I planned on mailing his glasses to him. I called on August 13, to get a status update on my son's glasses order. I was told that the Lab had "misplaced" my son's order. I called again on August 15th, and was told that the Lab had no idea what the status of my son's glasses were. Because I had no information, I asked Clarkson to cancel my son's order so that he could go to an Eye Doctor closer to him at college. Clarkson told me that they couldn't help me over the phone and needed me to come in to have the order cancelled. After a very long 4 hour wait sitting in the Clarkson Eyecare office (while the Manager Marcus made small talk to the other customers about how difficult I was being and that I was "ruining his Thursday"), long story short, Clarkson had lied to my insurance company, saying that the order was sent to the lab the same day as my son's appointment on August 9th. I sent a copy of my purchase receipt to my insurance company which proved that I was telling the true story. My insurance company was able to help me find a solution based on this complicated case. Never going to Clarkson Eyecare again!! When you check in they take your insurance and check your benefits, however they proceed to add on a bunch of tests and checks and features and never tell you that these things aren't covered so you're surprised by the HUGE bill at the end of the day. This has happened to me twice and it's such a dishonest practice. And then the snowflakes in the office act surprised when I'm upset at the amount of the bill. It's all a scam to get more money out of people. Additionally, you automatically get added to an auto-scheduler without your consent. They randomly made an annual appointment for me and texted the info without even checking with me. I ignored the texts but they kept coming. I finally told them I never consented to this, they had no business making automatic appointments for people and I would not be keeping that appointment. When I didn't schedule another appointment, then they started calling. Many, many phone calls over several months to schedule an appointment. How dimwitted can they be? Worst place ever!!! read more

The Optometrist performed a fantastic eye exam. The opticians were lazy and rushed me out the door. I was not offered any assistance with eyeglass selection and no one offered me a warranty. When I picked up my glasses, I asked about a warranty or repair service. One optician didn't know warranty pricing and another didn't explain the coverage. They seemed more focused on getting off work. I hope they stop making appointments close to quitting time. I will not be back. read more

Just joined Yelp. Four years ago, ordered new glasses from this Clarkson. Tried them as my usual LensCrafters was now closed. Asked the optometrist NOT to rush my eye test. She said, "We don't do that here." She rushed anyway. After I returned home that first day, the salesperson I originally spoke to called me to state she forgot to charge me for some feature that I wanted that costs less than $6.00. She would not allow me to verbally authorize the additional, and would not let the glasses be made until it was paid, so I had to drive back eight miles in person!!! These glasses were to cost around $450. Took two weeks for my new glasses to come in, but they were TERRIBLE! My eyes were re-tested, new made, waited two more weeks, still not right! They tried again. In the interim, went to the next nearest LensCrafters. New glasses made in less than four days AND over a weekend. Great glasses! No problems, exactly what I wanted and paid for. Went back to Clarkson intending to ask for a refund. Before I could ask, showed my new glasses to them. They asked to examine them, then before I could ask for a refund, they offered one! But, wouldn't refund eye test which was wrong at least two times. Filed complaint with BBB who said since I received at least a partial refund, they indicated that I must be satisfied with the result and closed my complaint. Learned Clarkson had MANY complaints, but all were supposedly resolved. Wrote a letter to Clarkson, got the remaining refunded. Then, Clarkson kept calling me to try to get more business from me. Told them to stop calling OR ELSE before they finally stopped. Still get advertisements, but mark them "Return To Sender" to make someone pay to receive them. I am never going back, and will actively discourage anyone else from doing the same. Can't list a negative star, so one star is all I can agree to. John Q read more

2nd time something happen with my order. I decided to call them each time. I never received a call from the company. First time they said the frames were backordered but never called me and told me. This time they said something happen with insurance and I needed to come in pick new frames. If I wouldn't have called they wouldn't have said a word. They are very unprofessional! read more

I went to this location for the first time for myself and I'm absolutely coming back!! The office was nice and clean and up to date!! ( if you've read any of my reviews that really big to me!!!) I noticed they were really fast w getting people in and out. The staff was really nice too!! My 2 year old daughter was with me and making a lot of noise like 2 year olds do. And they remained nice and professional! The doctor!! Dr Parker ( not sure I caught his last name. Pretty sure Parker was his first name!) he was awesome. Gave me a lot of info, he was very personable, and asked me at least 3 times if I had any questions. And I didn't have many because he explained everything for me! I haven't been consistent w any eyewear place because it just seems like they try to get you in and out and not really give you thorough information about your eyes! But I will make this my eyewear home!! Oh. The selection!!! At other places I feel like I pick my frames just so I can have glasses to see! This is my first time ever being excited about my glasses. I loved the frames I picked. Once I saw them I didn't have to look anymore! I will definitely be adding this review to google so ppl can know! read more

They don't stand by their products. When they mess up your order they leave it up to you to figure out and they tell you their going to give you a partial refund but they never do. Instead they charge you more. I have never been treated so badly or had such awful service. Please don't waste your time or money here there are far too many places to go to for anyone to go thru what I have. In the end I left with the messed up glasses because I was tired of trying to get someone yo help me when no one cares. That includes there corporate office. read more

I was very disappointed when I came here hoping for a good experience . They promised contacts within 7-10 business days it took over a month and a half. Then when we received them they were not correct and are still waiting on the trials they promised . As an update Clarkson has since sent us the contacts in the correct prescription and even though it took way longer than expected I am glad they fixed the situation . read more

I felt like the staff was only there to sell me products without concern about my eye health. I saw the doctor for about 3 minutes. Most of this time he was telling me about a test he wanted to do that cost $30 and isn't covered under insurance.Only read one line on an eye chart. When my glasses came in they were wrong. They reordered and the glasses were still too strong but I took them because I wanted to be done with this awful place. Recently they sent me a bill for an additional $14- months after I was at the store. Thinking about getting 28 rolls of pennies to pay them. read more

Now I know how African Americans get accused of things they did not do and before you know it they are in the legal system. Here is my experience today. I went into Clarkson Eye Care to try on glasses. I tried on about 4 pair. I decided not to purchase any so we left the store. A little later while driving around, I got a call from one of their reps saying, you were in the store, when you left there was a pair of Marc Jacob glasses that left too. She said we looked at surveillance video and it shows you put the glasses in your purse. Of course being shocked, I said you see who on video? She said yes, we see you putting them in your purse. She said we need you to come back to the store. So not being far I went to the store. After I got in the store, I asked the associate what she was missing. She said we saw you put the glasses on, then put them in your purse. Then, one police walked in a few minutes later a second police walked in. The police walked back to look at the surveillance video, one of them asked to see my drivers license and said we got to get to the bottom of this. Now, knowing I did't take glasses, I started looking for the glasses knowing they had to be out of place. In a matter of 5 minutes, I found both pair of the missing eyeglasses that they were accusing me of putting in my purse. I said, you mean someone could not have looked for these glasses before the police was called, and I was highly insulted? My husband said to the police that they need to come out and apologize. He came back and said "they say they don't want to apologize". Can you imagine that? I guess all black people, regardless of who you are, are guilty until proven innocent. They were going to send the police to my home and I would not have had the opportunity to find the glasses. I don't know what would have happened. Thank God I went back to the store and found the glasses. I do much business at Clarkson Eyecare on Lindbergh but they don't have to worry about my business any longer. Our money is green too.
