I got a bunch of excuses. An excuse why they are not answering the phone. As a new customer I could not locate their location for what ever the reason they are not answering the phone. I was told by security their is no vision works in the mall. I decided to just walk around & shop. Thats how I found the location and just 3 minutes before my scheduled appointment. You expect transparency from your eye doctor. Once you pay for glasses, contacts & a eye exam you just expect to have calls returned updated emails something. But you get emails of them trying to sell you things. But none on the customer service end. They don't even call to say your glasses are back. Once you pick out glasses your told this is the date my computer says your glasses will be back. Go to the website and schedule a day to pick them up. Because you can't just come inside anymore du to covid 19. Keep in mind this day may or may not be accurate. It's like ok you can't tell me when my glasses will be ready & yall play with the phone and don't answer it. I think I am not going through this next year. Well at least I got a year to locate a new eye doctor. Normally vision works are extremely good with customer service I dont understand why they just don't hire someone to answer the phone to tend to paying customers.

They refused to extend my prescription and made my come in to get it renewed. I have a have a 4 month old baby and got a babysitter for my appointment at 2:30. I arrived 15 minutes early and they told me my appointment was actually at 2. It was not! They then tell me that they can not see me because the Dr. is seeing another patient. The patient ended up being someone the WORKED THERE. They could have easily seen me. The Dr. was standing there doing NOTHING. Instead she offered me contacts THAT AREN'T EVEN MY PERSCRIPTION. How is that better than just extending my prescription so I can order new contacts?! ALSO I had to call multiple times to make this apppointment and was hung up on twice. WILL NEVER RETURN!!!!!

I strongly advise others to avoid the Pearle Vision store at 1758 S Hanley Rd, St. Louis, MO 63144…read morebased on my extremely poor experience over the past three months. In December 2024, I ordered a pair of progressive prescription lenses, using my own frame. I paid $571 out of pocket after applying my EyeMed insurance benefit, and to this day, I have not received a single usable pair of glasses. The first set of lenses caused double vision and had to be remade--Pearle Vision's own doctor confirmed that my prescription was accurate and suspected incorrect optical measurements. I received the remade lenses sometime in February, but they still didn't work. After another eye exam in early March, I was again told it was likely a lens or measurement issue. I completed a remeasurement on March 6, and was told the lenses would be remade again. When I followed up on March 28, I was shocked to learn that nothing had been done--the staff member who helped me had left the store, and my case had simply been dropped. I also later found out that the original store manager had left, which may explain the disorganization--but it does not excuse the failure to properly hand over customer cases or communicate with me. To make things worse, when I returned to the store to ask for a refund, the new manager told me it was store policy not to give refunds--a policy I was never informed of at the time of purchase. When I asked her to speak with her supervisor, she told me she couldn't make the call because the supervisor was located "in another part of the country." This was at 12pm noon, during business hours across all U.S. time zones, so the explanation made no sense to me. She told me I'd have to wait three business days, despite the fact that I was standing there in the store--having taken time off work and come out in the rain to try to resolve this issue. Rather than showing any willingness to help, the manager simply said, "We're done here," and asked me to leave the store. I did not feel she took my situation seriously or made any sincere effort to resolve the problem. I have already returned the non-working lenses to the store, but I am now out $571, have no working glasses, and have also lost my EyeMed vision benefit. I will be contacting Pearle Vision corporate, EyeMed, my credit card company, and consumer protection agencies to report this experience and request a full refund and insurance benefit reinstatement. If you care about your vision, your time, or being treated with basic respect as a customer, I strongly recommend avoiding this store.
