Wheelchair friendly!! We stopped by and were very happy I could access in my wheelchair. They also had bathrooms I could get to, but they are not handicapped accessible. I'm a light eater so I was excited that the shrimp cocktail came in a 1/2 portion. It was so refreshing on this hot day. I think there were about 15 good size shrimp in it. It came with saltines and tostadas. Hubby ordered 2 shrimp quesadillas which were generous! He then went to the salsa bar and added a bunch of toppings and sides. Hardly ever I repeat a restaurant during a vacation trip and today I am planning to visit this place for the third time. Claro Fish by far, is one of the most authentic and delicious seafood restaurants in La Paz. Incredibly priced, abundant portions, and you will eat surrounded by so many locals that you will start feeling like a real Pazeño. Any of the fish or shrimp tacos are winners, but my favorite by far is the coconut shrimp: Crunchy, sweet and sour. Uhmm Uhmm. Please do not forget that after being served your tacos, there is a cart in the center of the restaurant waiting for you, full of delicious toppings for you to decorate your plate. At your table you will find a variety of hot sauces and I consider myself a hot sauce fanatic, but the "Capitán Picante Negra" was a fantastic discovery that you must try. It was disrespectful to La Paz. The fish tacos was 90% batter and 10% thin dry fish. The shrimp taco was dry and flavorless. Not even the toppings and salsa made it appetizing. We were planning on trying Taco fish but it was closed. The ambiance felt weird.The waited came up to the table stared at us for about a minute then walked away. No customer service at all. Walked by a couple times and it was dead, but the night I decide to stop, it was packed. Not speaking Spanish wasn't a blocker, but didn't help me. I asked someone in line if I needed to put my name in and they said yes, so I went up and no one came to the podium after 6-7 min, so I put my own name on the list and waited my turn; I was sat about :10 later. After being sat, I waited a good :15 for a waiter, when I mentioned I didn't speak Spanish, he was going to go get someone, but I told him I could just point at what I wanted. The food came fairly quickly, didn't look like the photos, but looked tasty anyway. There was a center cart that I originally thought was a salad bar, but after looking at my naked tacos, i thought maybe it was a toppings bar and that's exactly what it was. Upon paying they didn't take Amex, so I gave a MC and when it came back the printout was so small I could barely read it, but I didn't see a line to add a tip and the waiter couldn't speak English, so I just signed and left, but felt bad I didn't have any cash to leave. read more

Too bad we didn't find this place until our second to last day!! Amazing food and service. Was skeptical as outside said best seafood around. It really was compared to all the places we ate at for the past 6 days. I never get shrimp cocktails on this side of the border as their ketchup is different. This place had Heinz ketchup so I ordered it and was one of the best I've had! The torre was also just as good and a huge portion! More than enough for two people. More like a full table appetizer! The fish and shrimp tacos were plentiful and tasty. Self serve condiments had everything from the basics to several types of salsas cucumber sautéed onions limes and cabbage. Bathrooms were clean and fresh. Salt shakers and all the various bottles of hot sauce in the table were clean. If I had to complain about anything would be the flies. But every establishment in La Paz that was open had this problem. So good we came back the following day just before heading to airport. Will definitely be back!! For affordable seafood in a casual, covered patio setting and just across the street from the water (not on the water), Claro FIsh Jr is a great spot. Especially if you're in a large group, so you can order multiple plates and taste it all. Marlin, apparently is what they serve up best (according to our server). And note that there's a marlin cartoon on their logo/sign. We ordered everything from marlin tostadas and ceviche to the seafood tower suprema (share this!). I was curious about the crunchy fish tacos, and I highly recommend those. I can only assume they are made with a batter of crushed Cornflakes (yes, the cereal), because there was an employee that walked in with a big bag of the cereal. Maybe the problem was reading the reviews from trip advisor because they were mostly good. I'm giving two stars because the tacos were full of meat/fish and my wife loved the ceviche. The other star was for the service, they were pretty quick and attentive. Other than that the food was not calling out, the carne asada it wasn't nice and greasy and the deep fried fish was just that, fried. I also had the planchado fish and that looked seasoned but was too dry. I also ordered two drinks in the hopes of getting a good buzz but nothing. The ambience is calm but you have too many flies trying to land on your food. FYI don't come to La Paz in May-September. It is miserably hot. So like I always say, everyone's taste buds are different but for me this place is no bueno. read more

It was pretty good. I had the crunchy Camaron taco and I had the Coyote ptacos which is the scallops. They were 65 pesos per taco, which is kind of double the price but they were almost double as delicious. A must while you are in la Paz. This was recommended by one of the locals, and across the street from whale shark tours. The whole restaurant is outdoors so perfect during covid times.
