Honestly 3 stars may be a little harsh; I really loved the little store. My biggest complaint is that the store is far too small to move around in. As well, I think their selection might be a bit limited as a result of the confined space. I came in looking for skullcap (I THINK, whatever it was they didn't have it, anyways) and didn't see that it was available. But wow, let me just say, totally worth making the trek over there just to check out the building! I love the mural they've got going on! So bright and lovely :)

Great shop on Alberta with lots of crystals, herbs and other spiritual supplies. Always friendly staff and prices are decent for the area.

This is my favorite herb shop in PDX. Charming lil apothecary space with a good selection of bulk herbs.

And yes, you pay for the quality. But did you know they also have awesome sales? I mean really incredible 50% off sales on highly desirable items! I'm on the mailing list for their weekly ads and when items I love - but don't buy often because of the price - go on sale for 50% off, I stock up. For example, this week all nutritional and protein bars are 50% off. That is a stellar sale since we all know that protein bars are at a premium everywhere. Their sale includes single bars - a great way to try first to see if you like the taste and texture - and on boxes. I'm a huge fan of RX Bars that have just three ingredients, getting their protein from egg whites and sometimes nuts. Typically $12.40 for a box of 5, the on sale price of $6.19 is a steal and a reason to buy several. Throughout the year they have 50% of Rao sauces, the best jar sauce in the market. Also sales on vitamins and lotions. Oh, and around February, 50% off chocolates including the high end brands. So while I shop there regularly for the high quality fish, meat and vibrant produce, I will make a special trip to stock up on my favorite items when the price is slashed in half.

Those Noodles and how they make them there are TOP NOTCH! I LOVE THEM! I mean I could marry them they are so good! There are so many pluses here and glad to have this in Concordia. The store has many great deals and good sales on things, but I have to urge you thats its a good idea to not sit in the eatery area that they just remodeled to make more open. The coffee stand there does okay, but is fantastic when this tall guy is there with a beard. But I have not seen him in a while. So the coffee drinks are okay, and vary from day to day. The Brewed coffee is good however. There is one thing I despise about this location, and its the amount of "extra Helpers" that seem to be right there waiting for you as you walk in. The Tamale lady outside is fine. What I find very uncomfortable is all the people that go there to bum money or always seem to want to ask you a question. The worst part? Some of them come into the area that use to be amazing to sit there, and honest to Abe, they smell worse then walking by the dumpsters. It's got better over the last year, but I noticed a real weird vibe today as I walked in and the large man who looks like a greeter seems to be blocking the entrance way into the store. It's starting to feel like Walmart or Fred Meyers where they have gates to go in and out of the store. Friendly? , I don't think so captain. Stark change from before, but it seems like this is needed more and more today as stores have to beef up security. I understand that there is not much New Season can do about this thanks to local politics in the area, but I WISH this was not the case as I use to enjoy going there for breakfast and coffee. Hopefully, things gets better in 2025.

It could be what I ordered so decided to give 2 stars instead of 1. Drinks ordered: 1. Sore - super simple, not anything special. Personally prefer more spirit forward drinks. This one was light and seemed watered down. 2. Some Cider - fiancée ordered, it was a cider and simple. Food ordered: 1. Ayum Rujak - good flavor and spice level, quality and cook were terrible. You know when a chicken wing is grilled then left in the fridge overnight as leftover, it becomes wrinkly. Chicken came out as if it was pre-cooked then tossed in sauce. The chicken wasn't even crispy, how could it be fried? 2. Sate Padang - overly strong in the curry and turmeric seasoning used, my fiancée couldn't even finish her skewer. The cook was terrible. It came out as a tough rubbery cube that tasted as if it was cooked well done from frozen. Awful. 3. Emie Medan - I don't even know the purpose of this dish. Shrimp chip, medan style noodles, potato, fried tofu, and then emping (another type of cracker). Sorry, I could be completely wrong but I think this dished missed some identity or cohesiveness. Egg on dish served cold, tofu was rubber and also cold. Sauce is super similar to the sate padang - tumeric/curry gravy essentially. 4. Nasi Goreng Tek Tek - this was probably the best thing we ordered ngl. Simply chicken fried rice with the tumeric/curry flavor. Except in this dish, it wasn't overpowering. Quality of the chicken was horrific though, dry/stringy/small pieces - probably leftovers from something. Overall, I'm not an expert on Indonesian cuisine nor do I eat it often. Excuse me if I'm wrong on how things are suppose to taste and I apologize for that in advance. But I do know how ingredients could be cooked better.

This place would make an excellent night for date or just to take someone for a nice quiet night. All the food was really fresh. The fruit salad was perhaps my favorite slightly on the spicy side although you can get it not spicy if that's what you prefer. We ended up with two desserts that were lightly sweet and are excellent for people that don't want a really sweet desserts. Parking was street parking and a little bit hectic so if you're in your parallel parking, take a deep breath. This one is gonna get challenging, but it's well worth it. The staff was really nice. The price was reasonable. Abel will absolutely be back!

These were ok, but not my favorite - Rainbow Flight Milk Tea Flight - I liked the Thai Iced Tea and the Thai Iced Coffee. Wasn't a big fan of Sala Milk as it was too floral for me Somtum Plarah - Lao-Style Papaya Salad - the fermented crab was actually quite good, umami and a little sweet. Fried Chicken Roti Combo - holy fried chicken crispy, combo comes with 1x leg and 1x thigh cut into two pieces. Curry was delicious and balance, excellent when dipped with the crispy roti or fried chicken. Pickled veggies were a great pairing and sweet and sour added another dimension. 2. Pad Thai - glistening noodles served inside an egg omelet. Very solid pad thai - sweet, sour, salty. Don't forget to add the fresh shrimp, these were cooked perfectly and plump. I recommend the restaurant should take the shrimp tail shell off for us. 3. Thai Basil Lemonade - solid lemonade, NEED more basil flavor. I'll start by saying this place is definitely not big so come with the expectation that you might have to wait for a table. There's only about 8-10 tables in the place and it's definitely geared towards smaller groups. Regardless we ordered at the front and then were able to find a seat. Wound up ordering the combo to try and get a taste of everything. The portions were solid and everything was super tasty. The chicken is perfectly breaded and delicious. It's a bit of a messy meal so just come with that in mind. Have a bunch of different options that also looked tasty. Will have to come back and try again. Service was fine. They were kind and cleared the table. Water is self serve at front of the restaurant and they clearly do a fair amount of takeout. Cool local spot to definitely check out.

The wine selection is expansive-- we even saw a few bottles from the Loire region of France which we had the great fortune decades ago to visit family friends. It was the produce area that really made my heart sing and my eyes bug out. The produce section is colorful, artfully arranged. I could practically feel the antioxidants beaming into my body! I have never seen SO many varieties of alliums in my life. They had four different types of "green onion" (scallion, green garlic, calçot, and red spring onion), plus mahoosive leeks. We had a great experience with service which was friendly, helpful, and prompt. Since we were out and about doing other things we didn't get anything that required refrigeration like cheese, meats or produce, but we did have sandwiches from the deli case which were tasty. I look forward to going back for some of the produce and cheeses.
