Eem in Laos/Thai means 'I'm full' and this is how I feel whenever I'm done here!…read more If I had to pick my last meal on Earth, it would be at Eem. I've been coming here for nearly 10 years, and it never disappoints! My must-orders are the White Curry with their burnt brisket 10/10, the Mushroom Fried Rice 10/10, and the Carpaccio Crudo 10/10. The white curry is unbelievably rich and savory - the burnt brisket completely makes the dish unique! I genuinely dream about it! If you're visiting Portland and only have time for one meal, this is the restaurant I'd recommend without hesitation. There are no reservations, so you'll need to put your name on the waitlist and be patient. Seating is limited, but it's 100% worth the wait! Don't skip the drinks either - they're served in the cutest mugs. Eem continues to be one of my favorite restaurants in Portland and I can't recommend it enough!

We stayed, and while the food was absolutely delicious (the Massaman curry with lamb as well as fried chicken were absolutely delightful!), the portion sizes and the Thai iced tea beverages were smaller than expected. The service was prompt and accurate. Next time, we would take the food to go rather than endure unfriendly wait and seating arrangements. One of my favorite bakeries alongside berlu bakery and babcia bread. Their croissants (butter,…read morealmond, chocolate, savory) are my absolute favorite thing to get. If you can't finish the croissants day of, make sure to retoast them in the toaster oven! It will still be buttery and flakey and delicious! I love getting their bon bons as gifts for others (too expensive to just get for myself ) and my favorite pastry is their snickers bar. Gosh, not much else to say because others have such a good job with their reviews. They're currently looking for a new location and I'm sad to see them leave their old spot on Williams.

As I stated in my last review, JunJu is a stop I will always make while visiting Portland. This…read moretime around, the day we after we arrived in the city, the owners announced that they would be closing permanently as of Dec 28, 2026. Sad times! JinJu is my favorite bakery of the year and we had already planned a visit over the weekend before the news ever hit. We drove on over on Sunday for one last hurrah. Oh my god the line. We got there a bit over 15 minutes before opening, figuring that things wouldn't be too bad, but by that time the line stretched down the block, around the corner, and almost to the alleyway. I counted 70 people in line ahead of us. By the time the bakery opened at 8AM, there were at least another 60+ people in line after us, marching further down all the way to Vancouver Ave. Insane line. We didn't reach the door until after 9AM and then it took another 10 minutes or so to get to the front of the line. Our total wait was 1.5 hours and it was still worth the effort in my opinion. By the time we got to the front, the Ham, Bacon & Gruyere and whatever was in the bottom left case (Almond?) were already out of stock. The Butter and Chocolate were both running low with perhaps 10 pieces left of each. While the operation is winding down, the quality is still as high as ever. We went with our old standbys - the Butter Croissant, Chocolate Croissant, Spinach Feta Tart, and Morning Bun, all just as good as I remembered. I'm not even going to describe them again since they were pretty much 100% identical to my first two visits (for those curious, refer to my previous review). Portland is really losing something special. I hope Jin and Q take a well deserved long vacation and then open another concept in the near future! PS: After our multiple visits, I was never able to obtain their Almond Croissant. That's definitely my white whale, never to be achieved at this point!

This beautiful ham & cheese croissant is so delicious. Better than the pastries I had in Paris tbh.
