The shop is maintained beautifully, and my group was greeted warmly by Catherine who was working the store during my visit. She gave my group a thorough explanation of all the specialty salts available, and explained the differences in cultivation & flavor profiles of fleur de sel, sel gris, flake, smoked, and shio salts just to name a few. I loved trying the chocolate salt! We also learned about all the different origins and makers of the chocolates available as well. Catherine was extremely knowledgeable and attentive to detail, she made the shopping experience feel fun and comfortable. We ended up purchasing the black truffle salt, sel gris, hana flake salt, the meadow's own backyard blackberry patch & strawberry dark chocolate bars, a few other dark chocolate bars, some of the delectable small individual chocolates at the counter - and we couldn't resist also buying the cutest tiny fairy star salt spoon, too. Amazing experience, and everything was so delicious - I would definitely visit again!

There were so many things to try and a lot of gourmet treats. The Mississippi district can be a parking challenge so look for parking on the side streets. Also plenty of things to do around here to include shopping, eating and drinking

The the combination of smoky, tender barbecue with the creamy Thai curry was so good. The burnt ends brought that deep, savory, slightly charred flavor, while the curry gave it a completely different dimension. The flavors worked well. I just wished the burnt ends were more fatty. We also tried a pork belly dish, which was another highlight. The pork was rich and flavorful, and I loved the crispy fried egg, green beans, cucumber, and fish sauce with it. If you're visiting Portland and want something playful and different, Eem is absolutely worth checking out!

Drinks: I cannot handle day drinking anymore, but I couldn't resist... - Acid test: bourbon based - Separation anxiety: rum based, tiki; I was hesitant about the lychee (not a fan), but it was very well balanced. This was my preferred cocktail Food: family style - Sweet and sour chicken: even the small was a big portion. Flavor was great on this, and it had a crisp, crunchy batter - Wok fried yu choy: great wok char - Smoked pork krapao: crispy pork belly pieces, a fried poached egg (literally deep fried). Break up the yolk to dip with the pork. The cucumbers and green beans are a nice clean accompaniment; spicy fish sauce was great - White curry with brisket burnt ends: I've never had a white curry, but the white curry and cauliflower was a great match for the super rich brisket pieces. I love the interesting combination! Note: pretty much everything has some spice to it, so for kids, the jasmine rice and yu choy are the main items, though my older daughter did ok with the fried chicken and brisket! Music was great, and all of the food flavors were bold. Though flavor combinations were unique, everything was cohesive. They were packed on a Wednesday for lunch, so I'm glad we got here before noon to snag a table. I wish the Bay Area had more interesting fusion done right like this (I feel like fusion is a bad word in the food world...)

But even then the vibe is still really elevated with the interior feeling clean and giving off an industrial vibe. Everything about the food was beautiful. The Heydey milk bun is so most unbelievably soft brioche-esqe piece of bread and really made the breakfast sandwich. We got it with pork belly and it was beautifully cooked. It was soft and fatty but still held its structure. We did also get a longanisa silog. The longanisa was a little more smoked and cooked than I liked, but the pork sandwich more than made up for the silog. The silog was still good, just may try another protein next time.

Mine was made both df/gf to met my dietary restrictions. The sigig was made with pork belly and had an egg on top. You can choose to upgrade to sun rice which my boyfriend did. He enjoyed it but not sure if he would get again. I got the mango peach hot sauce which had a kick to it with tons of flavor. 10/10 I would love to buy a bottle and use on my eggs in the morning. I ordered the matcha margarita which to be honest I didn't have high hopes as matcha to me tastes only just okay. However, I was impressed with this drink as it tasted like a less sweet margarita which i enjoyed immensely. Other notes, you pay up front and get a number. Some seating in and outside. Also street parking which could be challenging depending on the time of day you are here.
