Ambiance: minimal interaction with staff left the experience to feel a bit cold, like eating in a cafeteria. Ordering thru the QR code was okay, but we felt the description of the dishes lacking. No option to ask for added spice level, so that was disappointing. No one came to our table to see if we needed anything, after our food was dropped off at our table. Could not catch the waitstaff's attention, so had to wait in line with the to-go customers just to get a to-go box for our leftovers. Norah on Alberta was a pleasant spot to have a thai-fusion vegan dinner. First, the staff was very attentive and friendly as soon we came in. While the ordering process is through a qr code, all of our interactions were delightful. Second, the space is unpretentious but nice enough for a date or semi-special occasion. It gets a lot of light and the colors used on the tables and walls are vibrant. And finally, the food! My partner and I shared the bibimbap and miso corn fritters. The former was definitely on the more spicy side of things. Getting some extra rice helped to mellow out our mouths. I LOVE Norah!!! Grateful for this second Norah location because the Belmont one is always super packed and you pretty much need a reservation to get seated quickly. This location is more spacious with the same great vibes. I ordered the Khao Soi Curry (which you can only get at this location) and it was incredible, an easy 10/10! Dumplings were also yummy but nothing beats the Pad Thai nachos. Looking forward to coming back and trying some new dishes! read more

I am not vegan, but can certainly appreciate solid vegan food. Interesting flavours and dishes for sure that my husband seemed to appreciate. PARKING: Street parking! We parked in the neighborhood and easily found a spot on a busy Saturday during lunch time. AMBIANCE: The vibes are very chill and the plants give this place a nice feel. There is booth seating/chairs. A decent amount of space but a small restaurant for sure. I think they also have some outdoor seating as well. Warm green colours paired with the wood tones was very nice. SERVICE: We were seated immediately and greeted immediately upon entering. You order at the table using a QR code and can even do a group order and keep the tab open if needed. The food came fairly quickly and the gentleman working came and checked in on us. Complimentary water carafes at the tables with glasses. FOOD: Husband ordered the Cauliflower Curry which he enjoyed. I tasted the dish and the cauliflower itself was good with a nice char. As for the curry it had a lot of lemongrass flavour to it which was good but certainly not my fave flavour profile. I also ordered the Pad Thai Nachos which were good. I like that the wonton chips stayed crispy despite the sauce. The chickpeas were fried and gave extra crunch and the soy curls were okay. The description said the soy curls were chilled which I didn't really get because they just became luke warm probably from the sauces? Not sure but the flavours were alright. I also ordered the Masala Waffle Fries which was probably my favourite. The lime aioli gave it some sourness and the fries were crispy and well coated in the seasoning. The crispy onions were also a nice touch. For drinks I had the Thai Iced Tea which was solid and refreshing and I think it had coconut milk. Husband had the hibiscus lime soda which was sour but still good. OVERALL: Like I said I'm no vegan but I appreciated the flavours. Price was decent for the amount of food given and overall the vibes are solid. Would come back to try some other dishes! read more

Excellent good for my vegan mother. She was happy with the Shrimp/Crab Rangoon and the Masala fries. The ordering is impersonal but I think it's unique and cool. Sure, if you have a question it might be confusing but the waitress was there and helpful with any questions. It was cool to see them prepping all the food in the back. Delicious plant based restaurant on Alberta. They have tons of gluten free options that are indicated on the menu. My favorite dish was the Chinese broccoli. *Non-vegan review* This was my first time trying mapo tofu fyi but I thought it was good. The portion was quite large, for $18 it seemed fair value but I recommend sharing it. I ate by myself & I enjoyed the 1st half and then the flavor became a bit tiresome, wished I had some other things to eat it with. It comes w/ purple rice which is nice & also a necessity or else it is too salty. The tofu was excellent - very melty & soft and they used tempeh for the ground beef and it had good flavor & meaty texture. Service is self ordering via QR codes which I am not a fan of but some ppl are, and you can still pay in cash at the end (but still have to order w/ your phone.) Having loved their other location on my last visit, we decided to check out this location for lunch. More of an open-concept, warehouse feel to this location. My wife & I ordered: -Ma po tofu ($18), comes with rice -- delicious, rich flavours, though a bit too salty. Not too far off authentic ma po dishes, but this one was cooked with soy curls to replace the usual pork. Very good but they need to tone down the sodium. -Pad see ew ($15) -- wonderfully cooked, coming with tofu, a sort of candied tempeh that was divine, JUST Egg, gai lan, and of course wide rice noodles. Couldn't ask for better execution of this dish. 5/5 -Gai lan side ($10) -- beautifully cooked, coated in garlic and a rich brown sauce. Fantastic accompaniment to the meal. Big portions -- we had plenty leftover for a sizeable snack each after. Friendly service. All ordering and payment is done via app. read more

Wow, what a delicious vegan place. I came in earlier in the day when I was shopping on Alberta and made reservations, and had a table when I came back that evening, which was nice since I felt like I was confusing when I made them. Food so good, you don't realize it's vegan... well, at least the kids didn't know! Stumbled here after another spot we tried had an hour long wait. We sat here immediately (for a party of 5, that's rare) and the ambiance was already a hit with the 15yo. The interior - with the plants, decor and music - gave full on "chill and trendy" vibes. The staff was super friendly, tons of windows and natural light, heck the bathroom even smelled nice. As for the food.... First and foremost: order the Pad Thai nachos. So. Good. The crisp wonton "chips" were so delicate and perfectly crisp, same crisp with the chickpeas. Awesome sauce, with tofu and tempeh...my fave dish. Spicy holy basil eggplant had just the right amount of heat and plump eggplant chunks. Purple rice was the perfect compliment. See Ew was yummy too, just enough veg and noodle and good sauce. The eldest ordered the Chinese broccoli to top off the meal and it was delish. Try as I might, I may never find the secret to that sauce, sooo good. The youngest topped off her meal with a side of tofu and damnit, even that was good. No complaints at all. Loved everything. I even loved that we could order on our phone and keep the tab open to add last minute tofu and broccoli. I would absolutely come back and recommend this spot to anyone!! read more

Service was cold and dismissive. Despite the harsh tone and demeanor of the waitress/bartender (I assume), my group was eager to enjoy my partner's birthday dinner. We had high hopes for the vegan cuisine, though the food was very lackluster. The sauces were good, however the tofu and Pad Thai nachos were leaving my whole party politely agreeing that we no longer wished to continue eating. The plants in the restaurant are also not maintained, leading to gnats becoming a frequent sight on our table. The crescendo of this experience was having the member of our group that chose the ramen bowl having their meal cut short due to finding a gnat in their broth. We just decided to pay and leave before finishing the full meal. When the gnat was (reluctantly, as we had felt we annoyed her by just existing in the space) brought to the attention of the staff, she offered us to order something else, to which we declined. A very sad way to end our birthday celebrations, and I cannot honestly recommend anyone to this spot. I hate leaving bad reviews, though I felt some moral incline to speak out about this. :( read more

First, I congratulate Norah (both locations) for serving creative and flavorful vegan food in a wide array of styles and flavors. Even my non-vegan friend enjoys them. We have visited both locations. Really enjoyed the Belmont experience in all 3 aspects - Food, Service and Ambiance. However, we recently had dinner at the Alberta location. The menu items we tried: Rangoon, Pad Thai Nachos and Coconut Cauliflower Fettuccini and the experience as a whole was not what we expected after eating at the Belmont location. Foodwise - the Rangoon was just ok, and the sauce was nothing like what is pictured on the website, it was more like ketchup. The Pad Thai Nachos could have been so much better. The wontons were delicate and wonderfully crispy, as were the chickpeas. Soy curls were nice too. Unfortunately, what ruined it for me was the sauce. It was Overpoweringly sweet, not at all spicy and the lime aioli was almost nonexistent. The Fettuccini was on a nice fresh bed of spinach and had a variety of interesting mushrooms. Where this dish could be improved is in overall flavor, the sauce was mediocre and could have much more depth of flavor. Service was great - no problems there. Ambiance - could be so much better. The music did not seem to fit the scene at all, it was very edgy and sort of angry feeling. A style of music more suited to the decor (plants and bamboo) would add tremendously to the ambiance and to the dining experience. Unfortunately, the kitchen noise was fairly loud and is probably unavoidable, this is unfortunate but understandable. This review is meant to be helpful feedback and is hopefully taken as such. We still consider Norah one of our favorites and wish them much success. read more
