Food was pretty good overall, maybe a little on the sweet side of each dish but I'd come back again. We went mid-afternoon on a Sunday so there were only a couple other tables other than ours so vibes were chill. Staff was very nice as well!

I love this place. Everything we ordered was artfully prepared and delicious. I had the hot pot with shrimp and the corn appetizer. So yummy! The menu is full of tempting options. We will be back!

We came here to try out their unique brunch menu. Everything was delicious with tons of flavor! We enjoyed the Thai tea flight that they had offered. We also got two of the dishes, the Mhoo-Hong platter and the Tom Yum potato hash. The Mhoo Hong platter was like a Thai version of avocado toast with pork belly (divine) and the Tom Yum potato hash was packed full of flavor! Highly recommend the brunch and we want to go back for their regular menu!

Sanae is phenomenal. The noodles are so of the best I have had in a pad kee mao. The chicken that came in the dishes was delicious. I ordered to go and it was ready so fast. I can't wait to dine in as I see there are options for hot pot, custom soups and more. Also the crab corn fritter appetizer has the best sauce. This place is great! I will definitely be coming back to dine in as the restaurant is beautiful too.

Always looking for good Thai spots to try and Sanae Thai eatery is a must! Huge menu with delicious food and friendly staff. Quickly sat and we ordered Thai tea, crab rangoons, potstickers, pad Thai, pork wonton shrimp hot pot, and of course can't go to a Thai spot without trying their Khao Soi. Khao Soi was perfect and such a big portion that I couldn't finish it in one sitting. Sadly had to board a plane home shortly after so I couldn't keep my leftovers but that portion could have fed 2 people. I had never had it as a hot pot dish so I struggled a little getting the chicken off the bone without almost spilling the whole bowl. Apart from that the meal was perfect. I can't wait to return and try some more delicious plates, definitely worth the hype!

I went in around 3, because I forgot to bring a lunch with me on a whim. Best decision of my life!!! Seriously this Thai iced green tea was delicious and a lovely experience (it is on the sweet side in line with typical Thai black iced tea). I could have just been happy with my drink, but then I got the curry which could have been a two portion, but I ate it all ;)! The price is right and they have a 12 dollar lunch special for a lot of their dishes! If you're in the area and looking for some good Thai food I think this is a great option. Very nice staff, sometimes if you go in off hours you can tend to be ignored at restaurants, but not here as the food came out fast and hot. Not too spicy next time I go I'll probably ask for a higher spice level).

This was not my favorite Thai spot in Portland. The service and ambiance were nice but the menus we got were so dirty I felt the need to go wash my hands before eating. The cocktail was good and strong. To eat I had the Guay Tiew Rua Hotpot and it was just ok. The meat was somehow a bit dry and the flavor was very much just one note. However the portion was really generous and the pork rinds added nice crunch.

The service is friendly and welcoming. I was able to sit wherever I liked that was available. There were two servers, both were attentive. It was my first time, having seen the photos of food, we got the wings and chicken pad kee mao and crab Rangoon. Rangoons were good. Nothing too different than other Asian places. Spicy Thai basil wings I recommend getting rice with since it was sort of salty to eat by itself. Tom yum wings were AMAAAAZING. very addicting and battered with crispness! Pad kee mao had plenty of veggies but could be spicier. They didn't ask us about spice level though. The setting is cozy but with plenty of space between other parties. Parking can be hard but Friday night around 7 was perfect. Both Thai iced tea and Thai iced green tea were delicious! Will come back to try other dishes!

Extensive manual, with items that you would not see in any other Thai restaurant menu. I decided to be daring, try food, that I have nit had before. Overall solid 4. Ordered Mama Salad, chicken wings with Tom Yum zop sauce, braised beef noodle hot pot, and mango With sticky rica e., Mama hsalad was great taste, but noodle was too warm too eat as salad, but tasty. Chicken wings were bomb!!! we picked Tom Yum... fries perfectly then chatted with sauce... 5++++. Hot pot with beef, was so so. Little too sweet, rice noodle was soggy, and had 5 spice (unusual for Thai soup) and bit too sweet for me. Mango and sticky rice, you can't really go Wrong with that. Definitely would go back and try some other things and try different flavor hot wings!

This place is great. Came here on a cold and stormy Saturday night and the experience did not disappoint. We promptly ordered and the menu is great in that it has all the classics along with some specialty items. The wings looked great even if I didn't get them this time around. Portions were significant and the food was all tasty. Wound up going for the lemongrass pad Thai which came with a great peanut sauce. The flavors were rich and hearty, exactly what I wanted. Overall service was solid and the atmosphere is casual and quaint. Definitely would be a good place for takeout if you're in the area. But would certainly come back and try more dishes!

We ordered Roti Thai Tea Jam (8 Pcs.) for dessert, but what we received had a bitter, burnt taste.

My new favorite Thai place. They took over Mae Ploy a couple years ago & the food is much better now IMO. They have some unique dishes different than your average Thai restaurant like boat noodles/mini hot pot dishes & German pork knuckle (in addition to all the usual classics). Also I love that they have house made Thai chilies in fish sauce as one of their tabletop condiments. - German Pork Knuckle: if you like chicharrones or that Thai crispy pork belly you will enjoy this. Served w/ 3 different sauces for dipping. Very meaty dish & just comes w/ a few pickled bites on the side, best shared w/ someone w/ rice. - Boat noodles: very good lots of flavor and generous big hunks of tender beef. Also had fishballs and tons of other goodies in there. Served in a really cool hotpot dish with a chamber underneath that has some flaming rock underneath to keep your soup nice and warm. - Nam Tok: a unique chicken dish I haven't tried before. Almost like a spicy chicken salad, tho the chicken was warm the veggies were cold making an interesting mix. And the spice was almost a bit more of a dry rub type of spice that was new to me. Served w/ fresh basil. - Spicy Mama Hot Pot: creamy spicy hot pot w/ sour lime flavor like tom yum and filled w/ ground pork, squid, mussels fish ball and veggies w/ MAMA brand instant noodles, very good. Also served in the cool hot pot. - Roast duck red curry: I've tried this at many different places but they do it very well here, nice big slices of succulent duck breast but with the outer skin nicely crisped, not overdone w/ the tomatoes and pineapple. Still many things I want to try like their stuffed larb and chicken wings which I will be back for.

Good food and big portions! Fresh, and clean. So close to Costco, and very fast. We enjoyed the papaya salad and coconut mushroom soup.

5 star food with excellent service - very welcoming and knows how to upsell lol…read more Food Orderd: 1. Fried Chicken Roti Combo - holy fried chicken crispy, combo comes with 1x leg and 1x thigh cut into two pieces. Curry was delicious and balance, excellent when dipped with the crispy roti or fried chicken. Pickled veggies were a great pairing and sweet and sour added another dimension. 2. Pad Thai - glistening noodles served inside an egg omelet. Very solid pad thai - sweet, sour, salty. Don't forget to add the fresh shrimp, these were cooked perfectly and plump. I recommend the restaurant should take the shrimp tail shell off for us. 3. Thai Basil Lemonade - solid lemonade, NEED more basil flavor. Overall, I'd come here again to eat and try other items as well. I'll give it a 5 star for now but more 4.5.

I'll start by saying this place is definitely not big so come with the expectation that you might have to wait for a table. There's only about 8-10 tables in the place and it's definitely geared towards smaller groups. Regardless we ordered at the front and then were able to find a seat. Wound up ordering the combo to try and get a taste of everything. The portions were solid and everything was super tasty. The chicken is perfectly breaded and delicious. It's a bit of a messy meal so just come with that in mind. Have a bunch of different options that also looked tasty. Will have to come back and try again. Service was fine. They were kind and cleared the table. Water is self serve at front of the restaurant and they clearly do a fair amount of takeout. Cool local spot to definitely check out.

Service was efficient on a weekday for lunch. I was very impressed that the woman serving us also cooks. She said she has one other person helping her over the weekend. The food was SO DELICIOUS. This was the best pad Thai we had with such depth of flavor - not too sweet or oily, just perfect. We also had the pad kra pao, eggplant and tom kha. The tom kha had good flavor and with a thinner broth that I'm used to which was fabulous. The eggplant was so delicious - the consistency was incredible. Not too soggy, just right. I also tried the mango sticky rice. For drinks we had the Thai lemon tea which tasted like Thai iced tea without the milk and lemon added - delightful! We even bought an extra dish to take with us to go. Amazing place. Ambiance is casual. I can't wait to return.
