Her instructions were easy to follow with regards to bike safety and she was able to keep our group of 6 (4 in our team plus another pair) together throughout the entire tour with no issues. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone, regardless of their experience level as it can likely accommodate any rider with even just a basic knowledge and familiarity. The tour itself was relaxing, beautiful, and educational. We frequently stopped for historical and contemporary updates on the places we visited while traversing the city and islands. The fact that there are effectively no cars on the island itself really enhanced the experience and made it feel like being out for a serene Sunday bike ride with the family. We really appreciated that at each stop she already had a nice spot picked out to take group photos and helped position and arrange us for optimal configuration and angles. This was such a wonderful way to explore the Toronto Islands, I highly recommend this tour and our guide Mariana!

The chute entrance into the canal is suited for anyone - but especially useful for elders or those with mobility issues. But the best part of Erie Canal Boat Company in Fairport is the owner Pete. He wants everyone to love boating and get the best experience possible. First he has and knows everything about the equipment and will get you perfectly situated for what you need to have an amazing time out on the water. What really shines is his personality though... Pete is a giver and is generous with his time, expertise and enthusiasm for paddling. He not only runs the shop, but helps get you in and out of the boat and safely in and out of the canal. He loves what he does and he loves helping you get out and enjoying the canal. His enthusiasm is contagious. He is simply THE BEST!!! The water was clean in some parts and not in others. There were a few large branches we had to avoid. We got a quick good lesson on kayaking before we went into the water; it was very helpful. Our kayaking journey was absolutely beautiful. We passed a whole lot of ducks. They really kept us entertained. We passed a cute park, went through some gorgeous neighborhoods. Overall, there were a lot of trees on the shore by the canal so it felt very serene. I would recommend kayaking here! :)

The owners even do a complimentary service of picking up your wines for you from the wineries so you do not have to carry them.

The shuttle pickup and drop off location were excellent for us (an easy bike ride from our car's parking spot to the pick up - we found some free parking.) My wife and I were the only ones traveling that day. The bike rack in the trailer even accommodated the front wheel rack on my Surly Disc Trucker. The driver was pleasant; we made good time. All in all, it was a very favorable experience. If we were to ride the canal again, we would use their shuttle service.

WomanTours' tour specialists and tour director were unreasonable in not refunding my tour cost or offering me a credit, when I had a valid medical reason for cancelling. Do not book a tour with them for their unreasonable policies!
