Needed 3 pairs of pants hemmed. Called and she quoted $10 per pants, which I thought was a bargain. Took the pants in and she said it would be ready the next day. Good service, good price. The parking lot is really small but they do have a stall reserved for their business, street parking is also available. Definitely recommend this place. They are rude and they will actually blame you for what they damage. They actually created additional spots without taking any responsibility. They will not take any responsibility for their own actions and they will not compensate you in any cases For their own fault. My wife's expensive evening dress was ruined from this dry cleaner. The tailor woman who works here is amazing! I brought a lined dress that needed to be hemmed up. Not only was it exactly to my specified length but you couldn't even see the stitches for the hem. I was looking for a place to get some clothes tailored for myself and my husband, we both needed some pants to be hemmed and he wanted to get a pair of Levi's tapered. They took time measuring everything out, they listened to my husbands requests of what length he wanted the pants and especially tapering the pants. My pair of pants turned out great! And my husband was very pleased with the way his pants turned out! It was a difficult pair of pants and double stitched and she did great work! ~~~Alterations~~~ Yes, I am guilty of bargain hunting, stretching my dollar, penny pinching, etc. I am not faithful to just one establishment for my needs. This place isn't the cheapest place in town to get your clothes altered. The lady behind the counter doesn't seem to care about giving outstanding customer service. She can be quite intimidating. The plaza it sits in is a bit tricky to enter/exit. Then why do I find myself here, periodically, you ask? Well, the quality of her work is up to my standards for what I'm willing to pay, sometimes. A fitting room is available so the lady can make sure she gets your proper measurements. *Big Plus Here! There's some wiggle room for negotiating the final price and delivery date. I factor in how much I paid for my garment and the difficulty of the work that needs to be done. Even if I could do the work myself but feeling lazy, I'll come here. There have been times where I wasn't able to negotiate for a more fair pricing so I've taken my garment(s) elsewhere. If your alteration cost more than the garment you want to alter, it's not worth it unless you see yourself religiously in it. One of these days, I'm determined to crack a smile on her face. I love the couple that run Classic Alteration and Cleaners. In an effort to look less dorky and in the fear of tripping over dragging pants, I had been hanging onto a handful of slacks and a pair of jeans in hopes of finding an affordable and reliable alteration place. When I was unsuccessful in my quest to have Shin Sen Gumi ramen for an early dinner last Monday, it led me down the street to Classic Alteration. I'm kind of glad Shin Sen Gumi was closed during that time period now. Down the street I went with the pants that have been sitting in my backseat. I took one pair of slacks in first to be the test run. She said it would be $10 for slacks with lining. There's a normal turnaround time of 2 days. When I picked up my pair of slacks, it looked great and left 2 more pairs of slacks and a pair of jeans. This time it was $25 for these 3 items. Unbelievable! $35 for 4 pairs of pants. I must tip them next time. I haven't tried their dry cleaning service but I trust them. I'm not sure if the Classic Cleaners on Artesia is owned by them also. Alterations $10 Slacks with lining $8 Slacks without lining $7 Jeans So if you're looking for cheap, reliable, quick alternations- go to Classic Alteration & Cleaners! read more

Great place to get your tailoring done! This place is a bit small and can be hard to find, but the service was not bad. Came in here to get one of my office pants altered because it was too short. There is a language barrier between the lady and I, so best to be patient. A day later I was very impress, she was able to lengthen my pants in about a quarter in a half long. I tried another place in Gardena, but found that they priced high but the quality churned out was mediocre at best. What to do what to do? Ah yes lets check out Yelp. I That's how I found Classic Alteration & Cleaners. It's a small little store off of Redondo Beach. Blink and you may pass it by. Owned by a husband and wife team, they are the nicest of people I have ever met. Very courteous and helpful. On my last trip (this morning) I picked up a pea coat that needed dry cleaning but also require some minor fixes. One of them was a hole inside the pocket. I checked it to ensure that this as fixed and found that it wasn't. Even though there were other customers in the store, the wife promptly went to fixed the pocket immediately so that I could take the coat with me that day. I don't think I've ever been to a cleaners who did that. It really speaks to their dedication to not only their work but to keeping their customers happy. The prices for the dry cleaning are also a bonus. I've spent less having my items dry cleaned here then even my old cleaners. Just a win win all around and am very grateful that I found them. read more

I only started going to this place once the new ownership took over maybe five+ years ago. I primarily took my jeans there to get hemmed and it was around $7 to $8... a GOOD DEAL if you ask me. (Because now that I'm in Chicago, alteration shops want to charge $16! wtf). So, each time I come back home I bring pants/slacks here to get hemmed. Nowhere else! Not happy with this place. Found it in Yelp after I moved into the neighborhood. I brought in a pair of $200 designer maternity jeans for original hem and got back a pair of overly thick, regular hemmed jeans with the bottom half inch sanded down. I wanted to get the hem back to take it to my go-to guy, Thien Tailoring, from my old neighborhood, but they'd already thrown it away. I was extremely disappointed to say the least. I haven't tried their other services - dry cleaning or other alterations but I would not recommend them for denim. read more

So I was a little skeptical about this place only because I had never done my own dry cleaning. My aunt had bought me a Michael Kors leather purse that I love but I had gotten it really dirty inside and outside. So I checked the reviews but I didn't see anything that dealt with leather. So I decided to give it a try. I went to the place and met the owners that work there regularly (cute old Asian couple) and told them I needed help with this and they took care of me. It took about a week and when I got it back, it was just like brand new! As part of a men's choir, I often have to get my suits cleaned and I've had nothing but excellent experiences at this fine establishment. Today I dropped off a full suit, two tux shirts, two dress shirts, and a tux jacket; where normally I would expect to pay between 50 and hundred dollars for them to be cleaned by tomorrow evening, I was only charged about $25. WoW! I recently came here and brought two of my jackets to have her cut and sew them together. What i mean is, she took one of my old jean jackets and added leather sleeves from one of my other old jackets. I wasnt for sure how it was going to turn out, but it was worth a shot. 7 days later and WOW...mission accomplished. She did an incredible job. It looks like the jacket came this way. As someone who's had multiple items both altered and cleaned here, I can speak for the exceptional quality of their work. I'm both unapologetically particular and fiercely loyal, when it's comes to those talented individuals I've been fortunate enough to be able to entrust with my garments-a critical component and reflection of both my livelihood and personality. So much so, that I'm more than one should me willing to pay a bit more and drive a bit farther to achieve that end. Her extensive experience in alterations shines through with her more than obvious meticulous attention to every detail, concisely explained and realistic options available, and the completion of all work done in an impressively timely manner. What's more, I find her prices are not only comparable to larger more well-known establishments, but routinely overtake them in both alterations and cleaning. Clearly one shouldn't expect Rome to be built overnight, so that being said don't unfairly expect your wedding cummerbund emergency to be remedied in a hour. Went there last week after 6pm, Esther had already left (alterations last call is 6pm by the way) I needed some pants altered so her husband called her and she came all the way back to take the measurements! THAT's excellent service! Not saying they're gonna do that all the time so please respect their time! Came in for the first time because it's close to home. I brought my comforter in on a Monday. The lady upfront said it would be done at Wednesday by 5pm at the latest and she would call me, Wednesday rolls around and no call. I call back on Thursday and the man that answered said they 'forgot' and that it would be ready the next day. I pick it up on Friday and when we took the comforter home we couldn't even tell if it had been dry cleaned..it had been there for 4 days & it didn't look any better! Never again. read more

Classic Alteration Embroidery fails at the Embroidery part of their name. This is my first review, and I was motivated to join Yelp due to my experience. Summary - I brought two things to be embroidered. They switched the embroidery and embroidered the wrong thing on the wrong garment. When I went to pickup the pieces, I was understandably upset; but I was even more surprised on the lack of a solution or customer service for fixing the mistake. The gentleman behind the counter kept blaming me for the mix-up; and would only consider fixing the mistake with an extra charges. In the end, I didn't like his confrontational tone or his lack of customer service. While I was disappointed with the service, I finished the transaction and left an unhappy customer.
