First I will say I had 1:30 pm grooming appointment, but realized I need to chk to see if anyone canceled the day of , due to a conflict in timing, so I called that morning early, I got a call back stating they could move Salvatore apt up to 11:30am remind you it's 11am when the call came thru, I stated Sure I can but it's gonna take me at least 30 mins to arrive, I told her I could leave in about 10 min, ,I also said if I'm a few mins behinds schedule will it be ok, remind you they done this to me once before an I had to restructure my already set plans because I now have to take Salvatore back home, she replied get here as soon as you can , I replied ok leaving in a few mins, as I get near the store I see I'm already 6 min past 11:30am so I call , I said mam I just at the light by the lowes home imp store, I said I'm just let I g you know that I be there in a 2/3mim soon as this light change, she tell me I'm sorry we're not goin to be able to take him now , I gave you 30 min , I said mam, I told it i live 25mins away frm ur location, I explained that to you when you called me, she said sir I'm sorry your to late, so I go any way since I'm now in the parking lot, I go in she tells me the same thing again , I got very pissed off because no , they have given his 1:30 original apt away, so not only do I have to reschedule ,I know have to drive 30 min back to my house be cause my dog can't go to my dentist apt with me, so things got a lil out of hand when I spoke my mind, that was very wrong on their part , an they thinking I'm over reacting, I let it slide the first time 3 mo later same thing this time I spoke up and my dog Salvatore and I got bared frm that location, and as you see I shop there a lot all it's clothing food grooming was all at that store location ,sad been a loyal customer at that location since picked him up at 2 mo old I will say this , I can't speak for all pet smart location, but the Athens Oconee connector Athens store , the mgr an grooming mgr are racist an very rude to other nationality especially blacks an the minute you stand your ground ,you and your pet are instantly bared frm the location for life, I still use per smart but instead of driving 25 min to the Athens location I now have to drive frm Colbert ga, , even if the issue is on they're end, they will make it be your own credit that got you bared when all along it's them creating issues, sad an unfairIm not out to ruin anyone day I'm sure there are many others that have been wrongly treated by those two mgr, they both need to be fired, my drive changed frm 23 min to the Athens oconee location to 46 mins to the Bethlehem location, jus so my Salvatore can get a descent cut,,#FIRE/THEM/TWO/MGRS we need race /less mgrs when dealing with people other than they're own

I took my dog, for the first time, to the Athens grooming salon. Lizzie, the salon leader was recommended to me. I am beyond impressed at the services provided. I do believe she went above and beyond to take care of my dog. Thank you so much Lizzie and to the entire grooming staff. We will most definitely be back

This is the best PetSmart I've come across. It's clean and organized with extra friendly staff. I enjoyed that one of their staff members was sitting on the floor with me while we were trying on different life jackets on my fur baby. Another staff member offered my dog pieces of dried 100% beef liver during check out (which my choosy little guy loved), and she gave me a handful to take home, too. Definitely sign up for the PetSmarts treats loyalty program (for free),and you get major savings (like 15$ off a doggie life jacket)!

They cut my toy poodle, and didn't even say anything about it when I picked him up. Found out only after getting home when he kept licking his inner thigh. I was already displeased with the service today because they had him for three hours but didn't trim his nails, do his pad shaving, or sanitary trim. How can you ignore some of the most necessary parts of the Bath & Brush service? They took him back to finish after I pointed it out, and I can only assume that's when he was cut during the sanitary trim. The groomer, Miranda, was neither present when I came to drop off and pick up. Today's appointment just seemed very careless and poorly done.

A cut under my poodle's ear which was attempted to be covered up.

When I entered the store I immediately saw empty shelves and display cases where, purportedly, the bakery items were stocked. I saw no other "boutique items" that were touted on the website. Since the store clearly didn't have what I wanted, I asked the employee if they could recommend somewhere else I could find a dog bakery; "no, sorry, I don't know". I'm willing to accept that a merchant would not want to send business to a competitor, but, this potential customer will not consider returning to this store for anything I the future. I cut people a lot of slack, but when a business owner creates a website to generate business, I find it inexcusable when the website is not maintained with accurate information. I have a large, full coated OES who is groomed professionally once a month; I was considering using the grooming services at Bark Dog Spa, but, this first encounter was so disappointing that I've decided not to do business here.

The side room for cats is very small, with too many cat kennels in too small an area. The folks who work here seem friendly; Luke, in particular, was very kind to me and my cats. But the reception desk is in the dog grooming area, and chaos reigned during both my drop-off and pick-up visits, with too many people trying to do too much in too small an area. Super frustrating and inefficient. My cats were boarded at the Dawghouse for 5-6 nights. When I picked them up, the cat room was filthy, smelly, crowded with cats in individual kennels. I was told all cats had a chance to rotate in and out of their kennels for exercise time in the cat room at large. I have no way of knowing if/how this worked, but it seems a hard thing to manage with so many cats of different ages, temperaments, and health situations. At pick-up time, my two little boy cats were obviously stressed, they had lost weight, and their eyes & noses were goopy with upper respiratory infections, which required a trip to the vet. I will need to do a lot of traveling in the next several months, and I will be looking for a new boarding place for my cats.

The groomer shaved her nipples off the last two times. She developed scabs and we told them about it after the first. But it happened again. A part of the pad on her foot was shaved off as well. She has been shaking, lethargic and extra sensitive to gentle touch. I called to let them know, they apologized over the phone, they said this never happens. But I can see now from other people's reviews similar carelessness and negligence has happened before. The manager asked for a third try to show they can do a good job. After giving them the benefit of the doubt once already and how hurt our dog is, we've lost our trust and won't be bringing her back.

Yesterday, the day I was supposed to pick her up, I received a text saying "Good Morning! We came in this morning to find that Bella had what looks like some pretty bloody diarrhea over night. She doesn't seem to be acting any differently but there's definitely a significant amount of blood. She did get get groome yesterday so that may have stressed her out some which could cause something like this. We have her on the schedule to be picked up today but wanted to go ahead and reach out considering how it looks. Let us know if you'd like us to do anything for her." I told Muddy Paws I couldn't pick her up immediately but called the vet and made an appointment to have them check her out. The only appointment they had was 2:30, but since Muddy Paws told me she was acting normally I wasn't too concerned. While I was waiting for them to bring Bella out, I asked how Bella behaved while she was there. The girl at the front desk said that Bella barked but otherwise was well behaved. The first thing I noticed was how badly groomed she was. Worst cut she has EVER had and not correct for the breed. Her coat felt dirty and she smelled dirty. As I was driving home it was obvious that Bella was larthegic and moving strangely. I took her to the vet immediately and they were kind enough to check her over early. She had lost 4 pounds (18% of her total weight) and was extremely dehydrated. The vet gave her both IV and subcutaneous fluilds. He ran blood work and found nothing obvious in the labs that would explain her symptoms. He asked that I pick her up before they closed so that we could watch her overnight and to bring her back tomorrow for more fluids because he did not want her to be alone. As I was leaving the vet, it was clear that Bella was still having trouble walking. Upon further inspection the vet determined that that the skin between Bella's toes was damaged due to prolonged contact with the bloody feces which he cleaned out from between her paws. I took Bella back up to Muddy Paws to explain the vets findings. The girl at the front desk stated that she had not worked during the time that Bella was boarded (interesting that she knew Bella barked if she wasn't on the premises) and had not worked there in two months. She went to get the manager. I once again angerly explained Bella's condition. During this conversation I stated that an adult male human could not lose 4 lbs of their body weight in a day much less a 22 lb dog. She clearly was not not eating or drinking and had been sick for longer than a day. I stated that someone should have notified me sooner so that I could get her the care she needed. The manager agreed that I should have been notified, but also said he had not been working until today as well. Later he admitted that she had been sick the day before but assured me they had immediately cleaned the cage. Which directly contradicted his statement that he had no knowledge of Bella being sick until the day I picked her up. I explained that they also needed to clean the feces off her feet (I paid to have her groomed which should have included shampooing her.) The manager said he had never heard that prolonged contact with feces could damage a dogs skin! She has recieved IV fluids for two days; she is on both a oral and topical antibiotics. All 4 paws are infected, and she is still has difficulty walking due to pain. Bottom line - they knew my dog was sick, and waited to notify me until until then day I was supposed to pick Bella. They endangered senior my dog's health and showed no ownership.
