Been going to classic for 10 years. Recently I watched an irate customer exit and went in to meet the same fate. I dropped off shirts for launder and dry cleaning, with itemized bill received. When I went back the bill was double. Apparently they decided patterned shirts as opposed to solid shirts will pay a higher fee. So they changed amount owing on outstanding order. Fine to raise rates but not after a contract has been formed. The irate customer I encountered on the way in was threatening legal action. I just won't go back. Apparently long-term tourism is down in Palm Springs so business is down at Classic. So they have resorted to theft. read more

Be careful - this place slams you - which is illegal in the State of CA. You bring in shirts to be laundered and pressed for a cost of $4.50. When you are to pick them up they've decided that they can only dry clean some or all of them (even though they are cotton or cotton blends) at a cost of $7.50 - WITHOUT notifying you to get permission. This is ILLEGAL in California. I think a class action is needed here. read more

Dropped off 5 shirts to be laundered and when I picked them up, was surprised at the charge. Now, they are charging not only by the material (which I understand) but now are adding a surcharge for "high end" shirts - the high end, in my case, were a Ralph Lauren and a Tommy Bahama. It would have been nice if I were told about the surcharge before I dropped them off. This is no way to treat their customers - when I said something to the clerk, the only thing she could say was "we are the cheapest cleaners in the valley" and, maybe, the most underhanded one. I am new to Palm Springs an have used this company several times, we have come back with stains on shirts, No starch (Even after there all tagged), My pants come back double creased. While this is unacceptable the lady that works the Morning shift is very CUSTOMER SERVICE ORIENTED. Yep. I should have read the Yelp reviews first. I took an expensive designer wool rug (Jonathan Adler) to this cleaner on a Friday, and I was promised it would be back the next Friday. When I went to the store to pick it up, it wasn't ready. The guy at the counter said he'd call me when it was ready. Another week passed, so I called. After he checked, the guy on the phone told me the rug was at their central plant and would be delivered that day. I'm not sure what would have happened had I not called. But the worst part of this experience was that the rug came back with stains that weren't there originally. I called to complain and was told I'd get a call from "customer service." The customer service guy called me this morning, but he just wanted to argue. There was no offer to try to actually clean the rug or refund my money. Just excuses. Its not the employees fault for how dirty you bring your stuff. Its a dry cleaners not a miracle stain remover. This is a horrible establishment. They LOST a suit jacket and will not take responsibility. I have spoken to Christina( manager) after leaving several messages for the owner. She indicated that Tom (owner)does not return calls . Staff told me that my order was marked incorrectly at drop off and that could be the reason. Staff also told me the stray shirts hanging on a rod were shirts that didn't have tags. Now the manager says that the staff members were new and had the wrong information. This is a complete hassle. Manager is rude and offers no reconciliation. Will never use them again. Trust me this is not about the money this is about being a long-time customer and being treated as a criminal. Wish I had read the reviews of this place before I went there. Three weeks before vacation, I called to ask if they could dry-clean my nice (fabric) suitcase. The guy on the phone said he would have to see it in person, so I brought it over. Right away he seemed very flustered and irritated, even though there was only one other customer there. When it was my turn, he said he couldn't tell by looking at the suitcase if they could clean it, and he would have to send it to the cleaners and let them decide. Not sure what that meant--aren't you the cleaners? I asked him to please call me as soon as possible if they couldn't clean it, so I could take it somewhere else. The suitcase is pretty dirty and I wanted it to look nice for my trip. He assured me he would call me. Two weeks later, I hadn't heard anything so I assumed they were able to clean it. I dropped by and nope! It had just been sitting there behind the counter dirty for 2 weeks! The guy (same guy, same flustered, agitated demeanor) mumbled that it's the owner's responsibility to call me. I don't care whose responsibility it is--this is just awful customer service. Just picked up my white polos from Classic Cleanres in Palm Springs. It was kind of them to offer to redo them but I didn't want them damaged further. They were very expensive and were only worn once . They were returned with black marks on them and the material was damaged in some areas. read more

SMH!!!! I should have read yelp reviews on this place before dropping off my clothes here!!!! I'm new in Palm Springs and finding a great dry cleaners is like find a great barber shop, do your research! I dropped the ball by not doing just that! I brought in my designer shirt, Louis Vuitton to be exact. When I brought it in I made sure to explain to the girl at front what was on my shirt (make-up and cake icing) and said to her that I would rather have it sent out and seen by the actual cleaning people and see if it's a job they can take on before handling it and possibly ruining it and she assured I would get a call when she got an answer and see if I wanted to proceed with get it cleaned, that call NEVER came. Day of pick up on ticket I come and according to their times they were supposed to be open till 6pm, I was here at 530pm and they were all locked up, lights out! They rarely answer the phone to begin with! Today finally I managed to get the older bald guy on the phone who was a complete rude a hole! So I rushed in to get my shirt and make sure everything was done properly, after examining my shirt in front of him, the make-up was not removed, my shirt (white in color) had someone's pubic hair on it!!! Which I had to pick off in front of him! There was a ink stain on the bottom of it which wasn't there when I dropped it off and some other markings on it. The guy seemed to really not care at all and says ok your total is... omg I looked at him and asked if he really was going to charge me for a shirt that came back the same and with more on it than I brought it in with?!?! All he said is well I can send it back out, really ?!?! What the hell would it come back with next time?! He said , all I can say is, it's like cleaning a carpet, you won't know how clean it'll get till you try it. Omfg I lost my sh*t! I said to him this is why you guys have such horrible ratings on yelp and I definitely wouldn't come back and he was insane to think I would really leave my shirt here with them again. Came here a couple of times and each time the girl was so unpersonable . This last time I waited at the counter for a good 5 minutes while she kept talking to another women towards the back. Prices are comparable to my usual dry cleaners so I'm going back. They didn't even fully get out something on my husband's pants, while I was able to get it out with a damp cloth. My grandfather retired from the military and I took the american flag that was draped on his coffin when he died to this cleaners. It was stained from the recent floods we had and they said "No problem"in cleaning it. Several days later I received a call that they had torn it in the process but would repair it. When I picked it up there was a patch 10"x11" in the blue & stars section of the flag. The colors did not match and there were threads everywhere. They had cut the stars from the original flag and poorly sewed them on the patch so the reverse side of the patch has no stars. This was to be displayed at pour family home and can not be replaced and I am broken hearted and I will never trust them with anything of mine again. read more
