I brought an expensive clothing item with a tough stain that these folks suggested I allow them to do additional work to attempt to remove the stain. I brought in a tailored jacket to have dry cleaned, and they pressed it so hard it singed and marked the front of the jacket. They also tore one of the lapels and the front welt pocket in the process. I had to discard it because it can no longer be worn. The manager tried to rectify it, but the woman with short hair, glasses, and piercings was always so sour every time I went in there and not very friendly. I will not be going back there and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. read more

Another comforter incident. After a decade Im finally done with this place. I was quoted $29 to clean my comforter but when I went to pick it up it was now $44. They just flat out lied and when I resisted they called me a liar. LOL. The gals that work there need customer service skills, but that's not my problem any longer. The service was not friendly at all and the amount of time it took to have 3 pieces washed and pressed was not worth the price or time. I don't know how some place can miss all the check marks of a good dry cleaner. They refused to wash a dress I had previously dry cleaned because of the fabric tag. Stumbled in this dry cleaning because it was inexpensive in the high prices dry cleaners world in Palm Springs. It was a bit odd that they do not do any dry cleaning on premises. Brought in a women's jacket and a 100% cotton collared shirt that had foundation makeup on one of my sleeves. Much to my dismay not only did the make up not come out of the shirt, the actually laundered the shirt instead of dry cleaning the shirt. To say the least I was not pleased. My recommendation is to spend a bit more money and go to a dry cleaner that does better work. read more

The worst cleaners in Palm Springs! They totally do a "bait & switch" and charge you for "dry cleaning" instead of basic "laundry" like I asked for. It was two shirts and a pair of pants: $11.50!! Horrible experience. Do not go unless you plan on them losing your clothes and overcharging you at the same time. We tried them out by bringing a bunch of shirts to get laundered and pressed. Needed them back rather quickly for a vacation. The day they were ready, we went to pick them up and one shirt was missing from the bunch. They told us we needed to come back tomorrow. So we left the entire order there and went back the next day. The next day when we returned they still hadn't found the missing shirt. The woman said she needed to speak with the manager who was coming in later in the day. She said to check back the next day, (which was the day before we were leaving for two weeks). So the next day I walked in to pick up all the shirts and hoped they had found the missing one. Nope. The lady said she had to look for it at the site where they do the dry cleaning. I informed her we were told the manager was supposed to have done that two days ago. She told me that she In fact was the manager and hadn't heard about this issue at all. Wonderful! Upset at the situation, I asked her to just give me what they had and I'd deal with the lost shirt when we returned. I could see my shirts on the hanger right behind her. But when she went to get them, she walked all the way in the back and came back with my shirts. The "lost" shirt was on the rack behind her. I had no idea at that point which shirt had been lost. But the shirt I saw behind her was a bright yellow shirt with a unique pattern, so it was easy to spot. I told her I can see my lost shirt. She went and got it and it had a tag on it that said "missing". LOL. She didn't want to give it to me since it didn't have my ticket number on it. I had to prove it was mine by showing her a picture of me wearing it. Also, it was the exact same brand and size of all my other shirts. Ugh. It was like pulling teeth trying to get the damn shirt. But I finally got it and was charged an exorbitant amount. When I questioned the high amount, she said all the shirts were DRY-CLEANED not laundered and pressed. They charged us double even though we asked for launder and pressing. I simply paid it and ran out of there NEVER to return. read more

Wow. Took three suits for press and clean. Took weeks later I was transferring to my own hangars when I noticed two jackets had huge bubbles on the front as well as misaligned creases. Took back and got major attitude from clerk who said how do I know you didn't wear it. It was quite obvious the jacket was well pressed everywhere else and even if I had worn i, it would not have created that huge mistake. She tried to tell me she remembered it being ok when she reviewed it before going out which is either insane or she has the best memory in the world. Pay the extra and avoid the hassle. read more

The staff are friendly and attentive. The dry cleaning is good, but the laundry is lacking. Shirt buttons get broken but are not replaced. And shirt collars are rarely folded correctly, so only half of the turndown is showing. This happens consistently. I briefly left them and went to Regal cleaners instead. They had the same problem, but were much more expensive. So I'm back at DDC. read more

Friendly staff but sometimes they are slow to help (if they are chatting with each other). I have been going here for years and they have never lost anything and for the most part the services are pretty reliable. I do have one complaint; I send my sheets to be laundered/pressed and sometimes they have many hairs in the sheet (and I don't have long black hair and neither do any of my bed-mates) so they come from the laundry personnel. Also recently there was a shoe print on one of the sheets (they cleaned it again for free but still....) ANYONE KNOW OF A GREAT CLEANER around Palm Springs?? read more

I should have written a review sooner, but what has compelled me to write one now is the OUTSTANDING SERVICE that the two women who work here have been providing during the COVID-19 pandemic. I am an essential worker and have been working five days a week during the Stay Home Orders over the last 2-3 months. Throughout that entire time, the two women working at this location have been polite, efficient, concerned about customer safety and because of the two of them I have felt comfortable coming here during this somewhat challenging and uncomfortable time. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this dry cleaning company because of the two women who work here! My clothes are always cleaned and pressed professionally and their time estimates of when my clothes will be ready are always 100% accurate. I am a regular customer and I tell all of my friends at work that they should use this local dry cleaning shop for their cleaning needs! read more

The Palm Springs branch of Desert Discount Cleaners on El Cielo Rd has gotten absurd with their pricing and should lose the 'discount' in its name. They are now charging a 8.5% surcharge and another 8% enviro charge to each bill. There is zero choice in the matter. That is more than the customary 15% restaurant tip! In addition to this shameless price gouging they are nickel and dimeing every order to over charge the maximum amount. Think you're getting a shirt laundered for @2.99? Surprise! On the bill they've concocted a reason to charge up to $6.95 a shirt. Ditto for dresses and pretty much women's anything. They will find a way to up the price which has never happened for the same exact garment at other cleaners. So BEWARE OF PRICE GOUGING at this cleaner. It is false advertising and uses a severe involuntary price index and crazy extra charges. There is no discount to cleaning here whatsoever and it is cheaper to take your clothes elsewhere. read more

Every time I've taken something there it comes out just fine. Every alteration came out fine as well and I have no problem with the ending bill. Yes, I notice the tip jar and who cares. It's really petty to mention this. Just don't leave one, though considering how little these people make, maybe it's a nice idea. As far as the other complainers here, just have them redo whatever isn't right. I've done that and never encountered a nasty comment. Why is it so difficult to find good dry cleaners in Palm Springs? There's always something WRONG. Desert Discount is probably the fifth dry cleaner I've tried in the area. The cleaning and pressing is sort of acceptable here, but I'd advise against this spot. Reason being, they are adjacent to Taco Asada. I just spent $35 to have my shirts cleaned there, and while they do a passable job, ALL MY SHIRTS REEK LIKE TORTILLA CHIP GREASE. Not exactly the result I paid for. I will try another of their locations that doesn't store my clothing near a grease pit. read more

I used them for the first time last week. I can't comment on the quality of the work, since I haven't looked at the clothes yet, but I was a bit taken aback to see a TIP jar on the counter? A tip for what??? And the word TIP was written in big black letters. That irritated me a bit.....I'll try other places to see if they also have. I have used this Cleaners for years in PS but recently. Everything has changed my FACONNABLE shirts that I wear daily to work come back with rips in them. Was told I should go over every item before leaving. So now 5 five shirts ruined no reimbursement. Most of the staff are very nice but there is one woman that wants to argue and be rude.
