Absolutely delightful afternoon tea at Claudia's. Do yourself a favor and enjoy this special treat tucked into a quiet corner of North County in Carmel Valley.

We celebrated our daughter 10th birthday at Claudia's tea house, they decorated a cake and it was amazing. Ms Claudia is amazing with kids and all the kids were loving the delicious food, lemonade and the activities. Highly recommended for birthday parties. Thank you Ms Claudia for a perfect birthday

Claudia delivered a wonderful experience in a very trying time for our family. Our mother passed away unexpectedly and Claudia did our catering for her celebration of life. Highly recommend her. She is very professional, compassionate and she delivers! Loved her too

Claudia's tea house is a perfect place to have a special event. My mom and I hosted a baby shower for my sister here and it was wonderful! Claudia is so professional, kind, and very attentive to detail. The decor is beautiful and unlike any other tea house I have been to. The food is home made and absolutely delicious! We had a wonderful time and our whole party remarked how beautiful everything was and how much they enjoyed the food and tea experience! Thank you Claudia! We can't wait to come back !

Went here on Valentine's Day and had the best time. Claudia and the team did so much to make our morning special and the food was all absolutely amazing.

Amazing service and amazing food! The establishment has a smaller tea selection but they are very tasty, I came here with my husband for Valentine's Day and since it was a few days after - we had the whole place to ourselves! The food was incredible - really fresh and homemade - and the tea was lovely! The atmosphere is so sweet and the interior was pretty. It's in a residential neighborhood tucked away in the hills. I would definitely recommend this tea house!

I wanted to celebrate my 51st birthday at a tea room and was looking for a good place to have it. I came across Claudia's Teahouse on Instagram. The tearoom looked exquisite and was exactly what I was looking for. Decorated like what I envisioned a tea room should look like. Claudia made my birthday cake and it was absolutely beautiful! Nicely decorated and ample enough room for party of 15! It's a family owned business, and they provided us exceptional service! All my guests enjoyed themselves and will definitely seek out this tea room for any gatherings they may have in the future. The venue was challenging to find as it's located in a residential area. I assumed the business is located in a building not a residential area. There is ample parking on top of the hill and bottom of the hill nearest the property. I highly recommend this business!

We were looking to have a last minute tea party for my daughter's 6th birthday and we were so happy to find Claudia's! She was so accommodating! The little yellow tea house and garden were so cute! All the details and decorations were so fabulous: a pink phone booth, trinkets, tea sets, art. The food was incredible and all homemade by Claudia, our gracious host; she attended to our every need and was so warm and welcoming. The whole vibe of the place was so relaxed yet classically elegant and by the end of the tea party we felt like family with the other tables and Claudia. There were so many amazing photo ops too! We can't to go back for more tea parties, summer camps, and events. What a treasure!!!

I wanted something a little extra, and this spot delivered. I ordered a custom lavender iced matcha with honey cold foam and wow... it was such a good call. The lavender wasn't overpowering, just light and calming, and paired so well with the earthy matcha. That honey cold foam on top? Chef's kiss. It added the perfect touch of sweetness without making the drink feel heavy. Every sip was smooth, balanced, and honestly kind of addicting. What really stood out though was the service. It was my first time and I had zero clue what to get, but the girl at the register was so sweet and patient. She took her time helping me figure out a combo I'd love and made the whole experience feel really welcoming instead of rushed. You can also customize your milk (coconut, etc.), which I always appreciate. The shop itself is adorable. Think soft pink, super cute, aesthetic vibes all around. There's even an upstairs area that's set up for tea parties, which is such a fun touch and makes it feel a little more special than your average coffee spot. They also have pastries and small bites, so it's not just drinks if you're feeling snacky. Overall, this place is such a vibe. Great drinks, genuinely kind service, and a space that makes you want to hang out a little longer. Definitely coming back to try more of their menu.

So we decided on Nonna's for their variety of pastas and pizza. The evening was packed with people up and down the streets. However, when we arrived at Nonna's we only had to wait no more than a couple of minutes before being seated. We thought most italian places would provide some sort of complimentary bread, but this place did not. We ended up ordering the Carbonara, Fusilli Alla Vodka, Pappardelle, and Salsiccia pizza. Each were fantastic, but the family really enjoyed the Fusilli and the Pappardelle the most! The short rib meat was extremely tender and flavorful. Portions were a little smaller than expected, but it was enough to feed each of us with a couple slices of pizza to spare. Ambiance was nice and the staff was great. A drink we ordered was forgotten, but it's understandable since it was quite busy. Overall, great experience and glad we ended up at Nonna's even though it wasn't part of the batch of recommendations provided online. (Sorry forgot to take photos as we were so hungry and didn't realize it until after we ate!)

My friends and I were just looking to get a coffee in Little Italy, but when we walked in and saw all the delicious treats we had to try something else as well. The latte was good, and my friend bought a kitchen sink type cookie with chocolate, coconut, and macadamia nuts. It was warm and gooey good! Another friend tried the gelato and said it was very good. There are a few tables inside and tables out in front outside. We sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful San Diego weather. The decor and tables definitely gives you an old school Italian neighborhood vibe with Italian markets right next door. If I am in the neighborhood again, I would definitely come back here to try the gelato and/or a piece of an excellent looking lemon pie bar I spotted.

I'll start with the positives: the coffee was pretty average, but the price wasn't too bad. They also have a great selection of breakfast sandwiches and pastries, and the outdoor patio is a nice spot to sit and enjoy your coffee. That being said, I do think there are a few areas where this coffee shop could improve, especially when it comes to customer service. Unfortunately, the atmosphere didn't feel particularly warm or inviting. Several of the employees seemed to simply stare at customers rather than greeting them or offering any assistance. With coffee and dining out becoming more expensive, I think customer service can really make a difference in whether someone chooses to come back. When employees take the time to get to know their regular customers, make recommendations, or simply make you feel welcomed, it adds so much more value to the experience. Overall, Portal has some great food options, a nice patio, and reasonably priced coffee, but I think improving the customer service and creating a more welcoming atmosphere would make a big difference.

We used to come visit here when we come to San Diego. On this summer day - the restaurant doesn't bave any AC on so it made it a bit uncomfortable to enjoy our desert when it is a bit cooler to sit outside. The other thing that got to me was that the men's restroom was out of service so they did not announce it or anything but the women's bathroom was to be used by both genders but it was crowded so a bit uncomfortable. Service wise we got our deserts and the deserts are still very delicious. We were a larger party and they were able to accommodate and get all of our orders correctly.
