Legend has it that it's haunted by the daughter, Mary, which the server told us stories about items being moved, flickering lights, and guests seeing a figure on the second level window. Fortunately, I didn't witness or experience anything out of the ordinary but it was interesting to hear all the tales. This place is super cute and charming and perfect for high tea. I love how the teapots have a strap to prevent the covers from coming off as you're pouring the tea and they have tea warmers heated by candles which I've never seen before which is genius. The decor and setup was lovely and we got to sample three different teas of our choice. I really enjoyed the Coral Tree tea and the Darjeeling. It also came with a tower of cute and decadent finger foods such as chicken salad sandwiches, spanakopita, cheddar biscuit, scones, brownie, parfait, etc. Everything was delicious and I didn't think I would get full, but I was stuffed and had to get a small to-go box. Since the place is small, make sure to make a reservation. The sweet old lady that checked us in was delightful and our servers were warm and friendly. There's parking within the park but there was also plenty of street parking. Just make sure to turn your wheels towards the curb since the street is on a hill and the server told me that you could get a ticket for not turning your wheels towards the curb.

We did the afternoon tea, including one vegan and one vegetarian option, and everything was amazing. The tea was honestly some of the best we've ever had, and the food was just as delicious. It was the perfect amount and left us all full. We split the bill 5 ways and it came out to about $76 (included 6+ person charge and gratuity). Booking was easy but make sure to do it in advance! They even planned out the color of the china that was used to match our birthday girl. They made our birthday girl feel so special by bringing out a cupcake with a candle so we could sing happy birthday. They also let her pick out a pair of earrings as a birthday gift, which was such a sweet touch. One of my favorite parts was hearing about the history of the house and the spirit that's said to haunt it. The ladies who work there shared some fun stories, which made the experience even more memorable. If you're into haunted history or the supernatural, you'll love it. The only thing to know is that it's a very quiet atmosphere, so just be prepared to keep your voices down. Parking is easy, however you will be walking up cobblestone to reach the house. This was my first high tea experience, and it definitely won't be my last. I can't wait to come back!

It's not somewhere I go every day, but I love it as a special-occasion spot. The tea room itself is a lovely, feminine space full of antiques, and their mismatched china is charming. Their tea menu is extensive, high-quality, and always changing. The Afternoon Tea is delicious and surprisingly filling. Each item on the three-tiered tray -- the little crème brûlées, savory scones, finger foods -- is tiny, but there are so many of them that it adds up to a lot of food. I've never managed to finish it. They offer two seatings a day, and the Afternoon Tea is the only one you can reserve. They also have a Cream Tea, smaller and less elaborate but just as tasty, available on a space-available basis. They don't have a kitchen certified for gluten-free, dairy-free, or vegan preparation, but I know from experience that if you call ahead, they'll do their best to accommodate special diets. They also host special holiday events -- a Mother's Day tea, and a season of holiday teas from late November through just after the new year. My one wish: I'd love the ability to reserve something smaller than the Afternoon Tea -- maybe a limited number of Cream Tea reservations, or a new "Parlour Tea" or "Petite Tea" option. Right now the only thing reservable is the big, elaborate option, and I'd love to be able to schedule a smaller treat for myself once in a while. I'm thinking of something I could reserve ahead -- so I could plan a day around it -- but that's smaller and less elaborate than the full Afternoon Tea. Five stars, and a favorite place for celebrating something special.

They offer dairy free, vegan, and gluten free options. Our server was so amazing and accommodating. They explained us through each menu item and tea selection. We had an allergy we forgot to list and were so accommodating to substitute one of the desserts for us. The area we were at was for afternoon tea. It was very cute and for a Saturday, not busy at all. They have another section in the back for themed teas. The Grand Tea, High Tea option was what we went with, and you started with a soup, followed by a tiered selection of sandwiches, desserts and scones. I assumed that I would have a snack here and then get something else to actually eat but I was filled to the brim when I left here. This place was full to capacity when we went, but you did not feel encroached on, the owner Louisa, the servers, all amazing, welcoming and nice. I feel like I was a bit unprepared as everyone else was dressed up with little hats, and my wife and I had no little hats!
