It felt so cutesy dressing up with the girls & definitely tons of photo ops! -Tea: loved having our own individual tea pots & variety of teas to choose from! the waiter shared that the two most popular options were Jasmine with Flowers Green Tea and Scottish Breakfast Tea. i'd suggest giving the tea bag enough time to steep, sugar & cream served on the side. -Food: pleasantly surprised at how moist the sandwiches were & warm scones paired well with their 3 spreads (sweet cream, strawberry jam, lemon curd). our table didn't reach for the sweets much since that came out last & we were filled up by then. tea is served first, then I would say it took about 5-10min for each plate of food to come out following this order: fruits, sandwiches, scones, & sweets. -Decor: abundance of tea time themed trinkets, florals & teaware throughout, cutesy telephone booth, & fun center backdrop! fun to wander around & be immersed in it all! i appreciate that the table runner matched the theme. -Staff: kindly checked up on us throughout & followed up on requests efficiently. they were pleasant and did a great job at hosting such a large party. -Parking: follow google maps & it'll lead you here, then follow the signs up the hill. we parked right in front, but many of us parked on the right side of the hill or on the street. would recommend carpooling as closer parking is limited. Five of us visited Claudia's Tea House this weekend and it was delightful. The 5 sandwiches were delicious and filling, the 2 scones were moist, and the 3 desserts were ok (the mini desserts are always my least favorite part of afternoon tea, because they're usually store bought and overly sweet). We had the place to ourselves, which is probably because the website seems to indicate that she only takes private parties larger than 10 - that's actually not correct and she said she would change her site to make it clear she will take smaller reservations. Our lovely, friendly, and very attentive hostess, Claudia, told us the house was built in 1941, the tea room was originally the garage, and it was eventually surrounded by all of the new housing construction. So, yes, it's in the middle of a residential area now, follow Google's instructions and you'll get there. The driveway is gravel and path has paving stones, so mobility-challenged guests might have a bit of trouble. She's doing some construction to expand her outside event area, I'm looking forward to seeing that take shape. A couple things I think she could improve on: steep the tea completely and remove the tea leaves before bringing the pot to the table. Some places leave the tea bags in and it eventually gets bitter. I totally understand the reason for having clear plastic tablecloths because people are messy and tea pots drip, but it does look a little cheap. Maybe consider disposable white butcher paper or put glass over a linen tablecloth. read more

I wanted to celebrate my 51st birthday at a tea room and was looking for a good place to have it. I came across Claudia's Teahouse on Instagram. The tearoom looked exquisite and was exactly what I was looking for. Decorated like what I envisioned a tea room should look like. Claudia made my birthday cake and it was absolutely beautiful! Nicely decorated and ample enough room for party of 15! It's a family owned business, and they provided us exceptional service! All my guests enjoyed themselves and will definitely seek out this tea room for any gatherings they may have in the future. The venue was challenging to find as it's located in a residential area. I assumed the business is located in a building not a residential area. There is ample parking on top of the hill and bottom of the hill nearest the property. We were looking to have a last minute tea party for my daughter's 6th birthday and we were so happy to find Claudia's! She was so accommodating! The little yellow tea house and garden were so cute! All the details and decorations were so fabulous: a pink phone booth, trinkets, tea sets, art. The food was incredible and all homemade by Claudia, our gracious host; she attended to our every need and was so warm and welcoming. The whole vibe of the place was so relaxed yet classically elegant and by the end of the tea party we felt like family with the other tables and Claudia. There were so many amazing photo ops too! Three friends and I came for tea at Claudia's Teahouse and we had a wonderful time! The front garden was pretty, the inside was decorated with cute furniture and accessories. Our cucumber cream cheese sandwiches and tuna croissants were delicious! The Peach Ice Cream tea and the Vanilla Cream tea were lovely, we each had our own teapot! The blueberry scones and homemade lemon curd were our favorite desserts! We all loved it and Claudia was a fantastic hostess, making sure that every detail was in place. Let me say I'm used to Tea rooms that are the absolute opposite of this tea room. The nice reviews made me think this was an authentic tea room. I'm guessing these great reviews came from people who have never experienced what an awesome tea room is. The decor was cute but the tea and food was absolutely awful. My girlfriend and I have an annual Girls Day every July, to Celebrate us. We love trying different Tea Rooms. It is something I have done for years having visited over 20 plus Tea Rooms. Yesterday was the worse Tea Room experience. My girlfriend found Claudia's Tea House on line, her website looked good and reviews not bad. First off no where did it say this was in a private home, secondly the parking was unsafe for anyone using a Walker or Wheelchair. Gravel and missing pieces is asphalt, driveway on an incline. Upon entering the tea room it appeared to be decorated fairly nice. However when we were seated first thing we noticed was plastic toppers on all the tables covering the tablecloths which cheapened the ambiance . Cheap paper napkins. We each picked a different pot of Tea no issues with mine. However my friends was a plain pot of boiling water with a tasteless tea bag.. Our server was very apologetic and switched it out for her. First course was a tasteless fruit platter. Second course were Tea Sandwiches. Both of us were truly disappointed in the lack of taste and meager amounts between the bread. The Tuna Crossiant was tasteless, the Chicken Salad was can chicken on the dry side. Egg salad still looking for the egg. The cucumber and cream cheese was ok at the best. Scones arrived next. Which is my favorite two each and warm. We both tried the Buttermilk Scone which tasted like flour. The Lemon Curd and Cream, did not help in the taste. We did not try the Blueberry Scones. Three dessert were the final course Mini Brownie, Madeline Cookie which was stale and a Lemon Square. Both of us took the desserts and Blueberry Scone home which we tossed. $55 plus tax is average in our area for High Tea. But this definitely not the quality or experience we have had in the other Tea Rooms in California. One of the young female servers was wearing Daisy Duke Shorts and a Tea Shirt. Which we felt was in appropriate attire. Tea Pots were never refilled or were we offered more Tea. Quality of Tea was very Was the worse I have ever encountered. There website says a 20% service charge will be added which we assumed was for the server. However not getting an actual bill to review. It wasn't until after we got home and I checked my credit card we were not charged that. I have never written a bad review before, but I truly felt this warranted being shared. Rose C read more
