Where can I buy slices of cake? Are you at farmers markets outside of Oceanside?

Hello! We are also in North Park every second Saturday of the month from 12pm-4pm as well. That is a Vegan market so we do only carry our vegan desserts there. We do also deliver half and full cakes in San Diego county but we do need a 3-5 day…

Their egg tarts are so unique because it's THICK crust which I'm all in favor for! I loved the sweetness and savoriness to the corn egg tart. I want to come back to try their other flavors as well as their scones! I went to their pop up once after that, but I ran there so I could only try one item since I still had to run back. I got there around 15 minutes before they opened and there was already a line forming. There were about 5 parties ahead of me but it still took 30 minutes to get to the front of the line. At that time the dubai chewy cookie was blowing up on social media, and they had that there so you know I had to try it. I honestly thought it was a bit overhyped though. Like I liked the crunchiness, but it was wayyy too sweet. The cocoa powder did help balance the sweetness out a little bit since the cocoa powder was a little bitter. But still I thought this was a try once but wouldn't get it again situation. I need to come back to try the other egg tarts though!!! The owner was very sweet!

Not only that, but they taste amazing- the corn one was my favorite. I have to come back to try the sweet potato one because they were sold out when I went. I would really recommend coming early if you want the full selection. We came in at 10 AM and were so lucky to snag the very last garlic cream cheese bread and scallion cheddar scone. We weren't even originally going to get those, but I think seeing that they were the last ones made us greedy lol. The scallion cheddar scone actually ended up being my favorite out of everything, which is saying a lot because 1. I don't even usually like scones and 2. I reallyyyy liked the egg tarts here. It wasn't dry at all and I loved how both the scallion and cheddar flavors came through. I've had this type of garlic cream cheese bread before and liked it here too. I think it was just a little bit dried out and hardened which made it hard to bite through, but the flavors and cream cheese were on point. Would recommend the scone and egg tarts over this one. The girl at the stand was super nice and helpful! More people need to try Bakemellow out!

I ordered the Island Girl Coffee, a macadamia latte, and asked for it less sweet. To me, it tasted very similar to a flavored hazelnut latte from Starbucks. Even with reduced sweetness, it was still sweeter than I prefer and had a slightly artificial flavor. If you enjoy flavored Starbucks-style coffee, you'll probably like it, but it's just not my personal preference. I actually didn't finish my drink because the flavor wasn't for me. That said, the cashier was very sweet, and the dessert display looked beautiful and tempting. While the coffee didn't win me over, I'd still come back to give their desserts a try since they looked much more appealing than the drink I ordered. Overall, a nice spot with friendly service, but next time I'll be skipping the flavored coffee and trying one of the desserts instead.

We clearly failed at that. We tried the Caramel Apple Streusel Waffle, Jumbo Twisted Donut, and Blueberry Fruit Bite. The waffle was easily a fall favorite, a chewy Belgian-style waffle covered with cinnamon apples, buttery streusel, and caramel. The Jumbo Twisted Donut was soft and chewy with a crunchy rice topping and cinnamon sugar, while the Blueberry Fruit Bite was light, fruity, and a nice change of pace from the richer options. For drinks, we went with the Pumpkin Chai Latte and Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Brew. The chai had those warm pumpkin-spice flavors that immediately taste like fall, while the cold brew was smooth, coffee-forward, and balanced nicely by the vanilla and sweet cream. This location is conveniently inside the H Mart shopping area, with plenty of parking, and the pastry selection makes it dangerously easy to leave with more than you planned. Everything tasted fresh, the drinks were great, and there's enough variety that I could come back several times without ordering the same thing twice.

This is the place to go in San Diego if you want a slice of luxury without the guilt. In short: get Le Signature, Le Noisette for a nutty flavor, and if they have it, The London Cake (think chocolate and caramel; currently obsessed with this one!!). Tip: Store cakes in a cold/cool place if not eaten immediately especially during a heatwave summer or you'll learn the hard way. Best eaten with unsweetened hot coffee. Here's the long review: Parfait Paris has been consistent with their cakes; I've been visiting them every time whenever I'm close to one for about 2 years. There are multiple locations; I've been to Carmel/Del Mar; Coronado, and Fashion Valley. I don't really stay to eat; I usually grab a couple of slices (avg price is $13/slice) and slowly savor it at home with black coffee. All I can say is that this bakery knows their flavors and textures. The bakery offers pastries, macarons, and other desserts but if you're undecided, get the cake. Esp if you love (like really love) chocolate. I've stuck to 2 cakes: Le Signature- has a light chocolate mousse filling with a shortbread crust and dark chocolate glaze. Le Noisette- an employee there once told me it was like a Ferrero Rocher but a cake version. Accurate description but so understated. The mousse filling is chef's kiss. The monthly special: The London Cake: it's definitely an upgraded version of a dark chocolate cake. Filled whipped caramel filling and chocolate cream; it was balanced and sweet but not in a way that makes your teeth scream. This is the cake that had me question all the chocolate cakes I've had in my life; and the one where I go back the next day, like literally drive the extra mile(s), to get another slice. A little bias here but I've tried the mango bliss cake in the past. Decent flavors and texture as described but not as impressed as their chocolate ones. I've had my fair share of eating lots of (chocolate) cake in SD and LA; this place is def always on my list.

When I saw one that worked with my schedule, I clicked in to see what they had to offer. Prices are quite high, $7-9 per pastry on average, and they had a good mix of sweet and savory, classic and unique flavors. I ordered three pastries: charcuterie danish, Kenyan chicken stew croissant, and lamb rillette spiral croissant. There was a fast turnaround for pickup, as I could only select dates from the next day. Their kitchen is located in a more commercial part of Mira Mesa, and parking was easy. When I walked in, I was a bit confused by the setup, as I stepped straight into a room full of baking supplies. I located the cabinet with pickups and grabbed my goodies. Very quick in and out. Overall, the pastry dough itself was fantastic across all three pastries. I air fried my pastries to warm them up before sampling them. My least favorite was the charcuterie pastry. The cured meat on top was very tough, possibly from being over-baked. I didn't really like how it paired with the apricot on top. Additionally, the top layer of the pastry was adhered to the toppings, and came off when I tried to cut or bite into it. The cheese rosette on top was cute but didn't add much to the flavor for me. The Kenyan chicken stew and lamb croissants were absolutely stunning. Both were not soggy and suuuuper flavorful. The ground lamb was tender and buttery, Since it is rolled throughout the croissant, you get some in each bite, the distribution is perfect. The Kenyan chicken stew is bold and spiced. There is a good amount of stew in the croissant cup, and the chicken was not tough. Paired with the buttery pastry, this was incredible. Overall, I enjoyed the pastries I ordered at Relic! They are incredibly pricy, and definitely an occasional treat, but worth it in my opinion.
