i came here back in june 2020 & thought it was great - came back again august 2024 and it completely fell off. its a very casual vibe which is fine, but they couldn't even give glasses; they gave plastic cups. for the prices they charge they should give out real glasses. food was honestly EH. nothing at all to brag about. service was a little slow as well. not sure i'd travel here all the way from queens again. read more

Must go to Sunday Supper pasta night. It's a great value, it's usually quiet which I prefer. We've been coming for years to the tavern and Grill but usually only for lunch which is great. Sunday we had the 4 course meal and it's usually a pasta dish, we had the lasagna and it was incredible, the portions are big and cocktails are really good. The staff was also very knowledgeable. Claudios's on the Waterfront has a great vibe good music , the tavern on Main St. has great bartenders. However Maitre d" was rude and unwelcoming needs to learn how to smile. We came with 13 guest in which she denied our reservations even though the place was empty amazing! we left felt unwelcomed and went to a great Italian restaurant Porto Bello where without reservation and a crowd we were welcomed and enjoyed a fantastic meal. This place used to be a great destination restaurant. It has deteriorated tremendously! The decor is just awful - gone are the lovely tablecloths and napkins. In their place are cheap plastic placemats. Only about 20% of the tables were occupied and I can see why. The word is out. The food was inadequate, both in terms of quantity and quality. Also, it was extremely overpriced! It costs $27 for a burger and it doesn't even come with fries. Also, we greatly missed a bread basket. The menu was very limited in terms of choices. The new owners cut corners in every way they could. We will never go back. In a world where there are so many restaurant choices, this place has become UNACCEPTABLE. I hope that the present owners will sell it quickly to someone who can restore the reputation of this formerly great restaurant.They have failed miserably. read more

My family went to Claudios for their new Wednesday lobster dinner. The 2lb. steamed lobster was delicious and well priced at $65 for corn, Cole slaw and and baked potato. The service was spot on. I'd give it less then one star if I could. I've never in my life have so strongly against a place that I post a review on yelp. Please for the love of all things good food AVOID. First of all, we had to wait over 20 minutes after being seated to be asked about our drinks and starters. After we finally put in our drink order, 3 or 4 other servers asked us for our drink order. It was extremely disorganized. The biggest red flag was we ordered a Mango Lemonade and it tasted like Vitamin C powder, and the ginger ale was also watered down. Then we finally ordered our food and got the tiniest most overpriced plates ever. The food tasted good there was just too little of it. We got upset and asked for the check after and they gave us our check instantly. It's obvious if you don't fit a certain type you WILL GET TREATED DIFFERENTLY. read more

We're local and brought my parents for dinner to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary. Our server, Taylor, was great - so attentive, patient and pleasant. The food was great too. We split a pretzel sticks appetizer with peach mustard which was delish. I had the brisket special which was off the hook. My husband had wings and a caesar - yummy. And both of my parents had the linguine with clam sauce. My dad is a tough guy to please but he was really complimentary of the clam sauce. Overall, a really awesome evening. I was disappointed to learn that it is a brunch only menu on Sundays until dinner time. I was really looking forward to fish and chips. It would be helpful if this information was posted on the website. The brunch menu does have a lot of variety and my friends and I were all about to order something we enjoyed. The food was good but I think we will look for another place next time we drive out here. It doesn't resonate as THE PLACE to go that people hype it up as -- but maybe that's because we couldn't order from the normal menu ‍ Parking was difficult, but to be expected. This is the first time I tried Claudio's after the new owner took over. I was very disappointed. The food was overpriced and nothing special. We ordered the strip steak and the lobster roll and they were not cheap. All we got was a piece of steak on a plate, nothing else, not even a piece of garnish like parsley. Same with the lobster roll. There were no bread basket and potato/sides were all extra. They also charge for parking now! This type of nickel and dime approach is not acceptable, especially there are so many other choices in Greenport dining. I won't be going back! read more

I've been going to Claudio's for several years. I was tempted to give it a three rating based on the prices, but I realize that is probably not their fault. I have gone there by boat in the past, as it is a great destination by boat. But Claudio's has changed their policy on docking and it now charges $2 per foot for two hours. That adds $70 to my already pricey bill. We may need to find a different waterfront place to eat. The food was "good, not great". The calamari was chewy, but everything else was acceptable. Service was good. Now for the ambiance. This is where Claudio's shines. The view is fantastic. The atmosphere is fantastic. The weather was wonderful the day we were there and this what you pay for. Great location. Bottom line- I've had better food at Claudio's. It was not bad by any means. The atmosphere and service can make you forget the so-so food. Maybe it was just a bad day. Charming restaurant, beautiful space. The service was good. Always happy to find vinho verde on a wine list. Coffee was solid. The food was mixed. The salads were OK. I enjoyed my crab omelette. I'm always mystified when eggs are served without toast or bread. Ironically, there are nice bread dishes as the table setting, but the only bread available is a biscuit appetizer. Wonderful experience! We had our son and daughter-in-law's rehearsal dinner and welcome party at Claudio's in November and it was even better than we expected. The food was great, the service unbeatable and the bartender was fantastic. They were so easy to work with and made the planning process enjoyable. The staff that evening was quick, attentive and accommodating in every way. Numerous guests told us that it was a great time. We had pizzas for the welcome party and they just kept them coming to keep the crowd satisfied. More people came than we expected, but they didn't blink an eye.
