Had a very pleasant meal by the water at Claudio's. The service was attentive and smooth, and our waiters, including Granit, went above and beyond. The food was great, apart from our chicken Milanese which was somewhat over cooked. But our server brought the manager over right away, and they offered us a new dish and took it off the check. A Greenport standard that knows it has a reputation to uphold with its prime real estate, and follows through in attention to detail and care for customers. Would come again. read more

There's Claudio's Clambar on the water and then Claudio's Restaurant. If you can't get in to the Clambar, you can try to get into the restaurant. Parking in town sucks.. They have a guy collecting $20 for for parking. If you eat at one of the restaurants, they'll validate your parking. Newsday loves to give this restaurant awards for "Best Burger" & "Best Lobster Roll". I don't get it, they don't serve local caught fish and the biggest crime is the Canadian lobsters. Now we're in America! Why blow past New England for their lobsters? Do I have to get Gordon Ramsey in here to straighten this out?? Buy American! haha If you love this place then bully for you. The lunch menu appeals to me more than the dinner menu. Over the years, we've come here for lunch when my kids were younger. Now? I'm here for the bar. Continue to skip Claudio's main restaurant. Over priced and not worth it. Plenty of other options in Greenport that are much better. Italians do not get any sort of pasta here you will be disappointed. The malfaldine pasta with the swordfish is an absolute disgrace. You get 10 strands of malfadine with a whole boatload of carrots, celery and tomatoes which was abysmal. And 10 tiny pieces of swordfish. They should be ashamed of themselves to serve that. Do Not waste your money! Visited because I read in Newsday the Lobster Roll was one of the best! Went there and sat outside . First had to pay $10 to park ! The the menu was so small . Bread was not included and had to pay $7 for 2 rolls! Ordered Lobster roll and the size was so small for $38 smaller than a hot dog bun and not filled up! ! It tasted just ok came with a small potion of fries and tiny Cole slaw. Other family ordered linguine with clam sauce and the portion was the size of my fist or smaller! Sorry we didn't take photos! The salad and fluke were outstanding. The chicken left everything to be desired. It was burnt and dry. It was a rainy cold night so it was great to be in the remodeled restaurant. It was beautiful. We arrived at 4:53pm and the mantre D' made us stand at the door until exactly 5pm to sit us down. But our waitress was super sweet. But this weekend is their grand opening for the summer season. They just need re-adjust after being closed all winter. read more

Claudio's Restaurant is the inside version of the outside dockside Claudio's you may have heard of. This is good for people wanting sit down waiter service and a quieter dining experience. Why the average stars? Nothing wrong with this place at all really. Food is pretty good. Service average. Location prime (across from the piers of Greenport/ on Main St. etc) if you can get in.. there is usually a guy guarding the parking for it... that is needed! The reason its gets average stars is because IMO its touristy. Smaller plates, touristy menu.. feels ready for crowds to maximize efficiency. Neat, clean, nautical feel, good food.. just nothing wild happening. So three stars. A good reliable place. read more

Well....we read the recent reviews but hoped for the best as this location for a place for a family meal was too good to pass up. We didn't experience the worst of the reviews, especially around the service. Our reservation time was met and we were seated within 10 min when we arrived. The waitress was fine. Overall...there was nothing horrible about our meal but there was also nothing great. It was a group of 7 and we were given a nice spot away from the busy and noisy bar on a Sunday for brunch. The brunch menu is pretty limiting to expected breakfast items, their raw bar, and mainly sandwiches and burgers. We were rushed at the start to put in our full order with the drink order...not sure why that couldn't have been done separately but we complied. The wine list is pretty good with a few Long Island wine options which is nice considering the location. The beer list is sufficient with some nice draft options along with the standard crowd pleasers (Budweiser, etc). However, I ordered the bloody Mary and it was simply not good. There wasn't a hint of vodka in the flavor. What it did taste like was tomato water with an entire horseradish root. You had to chew your way through it. No celery and ONE olive. I couldn't finish it. On to the food which was average at it's best. The prices would suggest finer dining and the location should guarantee the freshest of seafood as you could take 30 steps from the front door and go for a swim. The fried calamari was first, an extremely small serving. We had to order two for the table and still wasn't enough. I didn't ask but it looked and tasted frozen. If it was fresh, something was wrong in the preparation. They breading was not crispy and the calamari was rubber. The shrimp cocktail was off in some way. They were big but just didn't come off as super fresh. No one got sick but they just didn't taste great. I ate one and left it at that. At $5 per shrimp at the tip of LI, there really isn't any excuse for not serving amazing shrimp. The muscle entree was the only shining star. HUGE serving in a great wine sauce that came with rave reviews. The rest was, eh. The cuban sandwich was a ham sandwich in a cuban sandwich costume. The bread was toasted on the outside to the state of cardboard. The pork tasted like cold cut ham and the cheese, mustard, and pickles had zero flavor. Big disappointment. The fish and chips were fine but again...Greenport...on the water....fine doesn't cut it. The chicken sandwich should have been safe but the chicken had grizzle and was an unpleasant texture. The crab cake sandwich was simply horrible. The crab cake looked like a frozen patty. It had a dry texture and an unpleasant fishy flavor. Deserts were advertised as all baked in house so we had high hopes. Chocolate brownie was turned away by a guy who eats anything really. The cheesecake was forgettable but the best of the bunch. The apple crisp was inedible. At least the coffee came out hot. It comes down to this. The location is a home run and they will get crowds because of it but there is NO bang for the big bucks here. You can have this type food anywhere and that is not the experience we were hoping for or the one we paid for. read more

First time dining at this establishment. We arrived prior to our reservation time. We waited around 10 minutes once the restaurant officially opened and then were seated. Service was very slow and our server was rude. We waited 15 minutes for our bread to be brought out and only got four rolls. We asked for more bread afterwards which took another 15 minutes. For appetizers we ordered the Calamari and mussels in white wine sauce. The calamari was undercooked and we received a disappointingly small portion. The mussels were good but were also a small portion. We kept the sauce after finishing the 8 mussels they gave us and it was ice cold by the time we received our second basket of bread. The entrées were good however and our biggest complaint would have to be the slow/rude service and the quality of our appetizers. read more

I was excited to try this place as i had heard good things. Did a little wine tasting, booked a hotel nearby and decided to make a weekend out of it. Ordered Calamari, stuffed clams, burrata and a crab cake for appetizers. All disappointing . $22 for one crab cake which was very fishy, the plate of calamari looked half empty and the stuffed clam seemed more stuffed with lobster bisque than lobster. As for the food..... $45 for a 1.5 pound lobster which was definitely not 1.5 pounds and a swordfish Bolognese which was bland and didn't taste any swordfish. The waiter was nice. The rest was not worth it. Don't waste your time or money on this place. Only gave it two stars because Iiked my waiter. read more
