i went in with my mom to buy a car after mine had completely crapped out. the specific car i went to look at they told me was being inspected and serviced to be CPO'd at another Kia dealership, so they let me test drive a similar model and i decided to buy the car. not until the day they said the car would be ready did they tell us they were "waiting on tires that were on back order" and it "might" be ready by the end of the week. the end of the week comes and we're told that not only were they not even waiting on tires, but the car was being serviced for BODY DAMAGE. liars and thieves, all of them. we're getting our check back and im never coming to another Kia. read more

Absolute WORST car buying experience I have ever had. The first employee we spoke with and his assistant manager let us sit for three and a half hours negotiating a car, that was apparently NON-NEGOTIABLE. The worst part of this entire visit was dealing with the financial manager Greg Anzaldua. After spending three and a half hours getting our numbers how we liked them, he comes in with a terrible attitude and tells us abruptly that we were misinformed and there was nothing he could do or would do to help us. They ran our credit twice after we SIGNED a paper for the negotiated price, stating they only run our credit no more than three times, and then we couldn't get the car for that price?!! He was extremely rude, condescending, and unwilling to work with us after we were lead to believe the online price for the car was negotiable by not one or two, but THREE people including two managers. I will not do business with this place, neither will my friends or family, and I suggest if you're reading this you don't either. read more

This dealership had a sleazy mail campaign tricking people into coming to the dealership as "a winner" with winning numbers only on the scratch off to come in and pick up the $25,000 prize, iPad, or big screen TV. Called in since I was skeptical and was enthusiastically told "you're a winner! You have to come in tonight!" Once you drive all the way out to their random location, they hand you a $5 Walmart gift card and remind you that they sell cars. Car buy is rarely a pleasant experience, but it definitely was today! I had needs to a very specific vehicle and the Kia Sorento fit the bill. After a couple of phone calls, Sheila at Clay Cooley Kia in Irving found the car and introduced me to Kathy, who then introduced me to run. Together they made the experience not only bearable, but pleasant. Everyone was friendly, straightforward and honest. I was searching for a car for two months and was starting to believe that I would never come across a car that was affordable for me as a student, reliable, and with excellent gas mileage. I purchased a 2016 Kia Forte5 this past Saturday and I was impressed with the customer service at this location. I purchased my previous car at the Clay Cooley Chevy location but did not want to return there and I am glad I chose this dealership instead. Romeo was our salesman and was not pushy at all, I really felt like he wanted us in the right car for our needs. The finance people were all very helpful and friendly as well. The manager, LD Upton was very attentive and even made friends with my son. I do not have great credit or a lot of spare cash right now so was nervous before going in to trade in my car that was not even worth half of what I owed but things worked out well. My interest rate is much better than what is was and the new vehicle has a pretty solid warranty. read more

I wish I could rate them no stars but that's not allowed. I will never give business to any Clay Cooley dealership with how terrible this experience has been. I bought my car at the beginning of June and it broke not even a month later. I had a warranty on it so I took it here to get fixed and they put in a new battery that 1. Didn't fix the problem and 2. Cost me $275. This was just the first step. They said they couldn't find anything wrong but my car was literally shutting off for no reason when I was driving it. So the check engine light came on so I took it back even though I told myself I wouldn't. I thought it would fall under what they needed because I had my engine and transmission under warranty. They said it doesn't count because the part is only part of the engine but not inside. These people are greedy and selfish. Mind you this is in the middle of a pandemic where so many people, my family included, have been impacted financially. We got this car so I could work and it's been broken for more than half the time I've had it. Now I'm out another $600 and they couldn't care less because they got their money. I will never come here again and I urge the next person to do the same. Stay away from greedy car places. Do yourself a favor and pick a different place. read more

Went in to buy Sorrento L, I asked for their best price and was quoted $22995 and when I got home I was on their website and the exact same VIN was listed for $22298. Feel like I was not dealt with honestly for their best price. I feel I should get a refund for the difference. Also they tried to add on $500 for nitrogen in your tires when Costco gives it for free and hundreds more for etching and fabric protector---which already comes with that from the factory. Just all extra profit items--do NOT pay unless you want to give them extra profit. Same goes for that extra $2k for the extended warranty--Kia already gives you a great warranty. I will say the sales rep, mgr, and finance folks were all very nice and professional. I realise they are just doing their job for the extra add ons, but could tell they did not feel comfortable selling the extras but I am sure their management forces them to do it to try to get extra profit. The whole sales and finance process took over 4 hours--which is way too long. We had test drive and decided on a car in about 30 minutes. The long process was in finance since it looked like they just had one guy working so he was backed up. read more

I inquired about a specific car with Toni (salesman). She said it was available. I completed the credit app online and asked Toni to have the finance dept call me before driving out there so I could get financing arranged. Text was never responded to and financee never called. Then I get a text from Karen, the internet sales manager, asking how my experience was. Really? I said not good and explained the situation. She promised to make it right and told me the car I was interested in buying was sent to service for a minor repair. I specifically texted her associate and said verbatim "are you holding the car for another buyer because that would not be okay." He affirmatively denied my statement and said it would be ready Monday. I said good because I'm ready to buy. Monday comes and I get a text that only says good morning. I ask if the car is ready. Then I look on their website bc my gut was telling me they were pulling a bait and switch and sure enough a big SOLD banner is draped across the exact car they promised would be ready for me on Monday after "repairs" were made. Shady and typical of used car sales. I will advise all to steer clear of the lies and poor business ethics of Clay Cooley. read more

I can't begin to explain the constant stress these people have caused me and my family. You always hear about car dealerships ripping people off but I wouldn't think that a reputable dealership such as this would do any and everything to steal from its consumers. Not only did we get 2!...thats right 2 junk cars back to back but we also got scammed into purchasing a used car opposed to paying the same payment for a new car. We purchased a Kia optima last year on a Saturday. Before we even made it home it was already making a strange noise under the hood. We really didn't get to test drive it like we should've because of course they didn't put enough gas in it. Well by Monday the car had over heated and was engulfed in smoke. We took it back to Clay Cooley in which they constantly insisted that it just had too much oil and that the car was fine. Well being a mother and someone who drives on the highway to and from work I didn't feel safe in the vehicle. So finally after I had to basically argue with them because I was frustrated and my kids were tired of being up there all day they put me in another optima. Well fast forward a few months later and to no surprise the new Optima they put me in has over $1,800 worth of mechanical issues. Which of course supposedly isn't covered under my warranty or extended warranty. The saddest thing about all of this is we were looking for a bigger car for our family but really didn't need to get one right away but we took a chance with Clay Cooley instead of Southwest Kia which we never had a problem with them with our previous car purchases. If you are looking to purchase a Kia go to Southwest Kia. They won't put you in a junk car or swindle you into buying one. The only reason they're getting 3 stars is because Garrett Mize did an awesome job catering to my needs- going out of his way several times to make sure I had the truck and deal I wanted. The other reason is because they got me the best interest rate when no-one else could touch it. If the sales manager and another manager hadn't tried to play with the numbers and raise the price TWICE on me, they would've received 5 stars. Horrible experience with this dealership! I went to the dealership in October of 2016 to cancel my extended warranties as my vehicle was declared a total loss. After sending multiple emails to follow up on the status of that request I received no response so I went up to the dealership to check on what was going on, this was about a month later in November and they told me it was done and would take 4-6 weeks to process... Well here we are in April, 6 months later and they still haven't sent the necessary paperwork to the warranty company for cancellation. I've been in contact with the warranty company and the lien holder to try to get the paperwork needed to cancel the warranties but the only place I can get them is the dealership. I called to request the documents and was told they would be emailed to me by the end of the day and I never got them. My husband went to the dealership to try to get the copies in hand and they told him they didn't have them and someone else would email them to me but still nothing. After 6 months of them doing nothing, I can't even get them to send me copies of documents I need to do the work myself that they should have done back in October! STAY AWAY read more

About a year ago I bought a 2016 Kia Soul off the lot that had been there since October 24, 2016. January 2. 2018 was my purchase day. Found it on Cars.com had 29.5 miles on it. Left thinking I got a good deal till I discovered the car had been in an accident. There is damage on a wheel well. No disclosure. Apparently the owners manual is a sacred text as mine was not in the glove box where I expected it and they can't send me another. I also bought the vehicle cash in hand on site and drove away. It was a huge chore to get my plates that I paid for and to date I still haven't received my title. I have never been a foreign car guy but all the different reviews say Kia Souls are great. Kia Motor Company is lucky J.D. Power didn't send me a survey. During the last year I had decided to not report any of this, but people need to know this place is not a place that cares after the sale and will do anything to make the sale including give you verbal promises. We purchased a Forte for my wife that was a hassle-free experience. The sales person was very experienced and met our needs. Now I wanted to buy a vehicle for myself. This experience was horrible this time around. The salesman seemed inexperienced and seemed to have little knowledge. We explained to him where we wanted to be payment wise. They seemed to be moving the goal post every time. The managers felt pushy and eager to make a sale. First, they said we need money down then said we don't need any money down. All I look for is honesty and truthfulness. If we can make a deal that satisfies both sides thats fine but don't give me the runaround. Please be prepared and read the fine print. read more

What a difference a year makes. Last year I purchased my vehicle from Clay Cooley Kia had an awesome sales experience. I ranted and raved sending family and friends to them. This year whatever transpired, everyone left, customer service is HORRIBLE. My cousin purchased her vehicle in March, still driving with dealer tags and I was supposed to receive a $200 referral and still have not received not even a phone call. I've called for the general manger, left voice messages, no response; left email, still no response. I will never refer another person nor will I ever purchase another vehicle from them. What they show as their inventory and the internet price is a sham. They try and convince you that the car is available but it really isn't. Those published prices are falsehoods created to lure you in. Don't waste your time. We were negotiating late in the evening, on phone calls and email exchanges, and the sales people played us as if we were negotiating an actual car sale. We asked to put the car on hold until we arrived the next day. Before we could even go to the dealership, the sales manager, Audrey, called us to say that the car was "sold." All buyers beware. HORRIBLE PLACE!!! My husband and I got have 2015 Kia Sorento from here in June of 2016. We went up there and picked the car we wanted and they had to deliver it to us later that evening. First, he delivered it to us with a low tire. The low tire light was on! His excuse was he didn't pass any air pumps! REALLY??? It's a hr drive from there to my house AND there is a QT on the corner! Anyways, turns out there was a nail in my tire and it couldn't be repaired. So I had them give us a new tire. Then in December, our battery went out! At this point I hadn't even had my car for a year yet! I had to go up there and buy a new battery from them. Fast forward to today... I am having to get my first inspection done and it won't pass! Turns out, they did not reset the computer correctly when they put the new battery in. They bypassed what they were suppose to do AND they disabled the check engine light! I mad beyond belief! I can't not believe the horrible experiences I have had here! I encourage everyone to go to the Patterson Kia in Arlington to get things done to your Kia! I brought my car in to find an issue with wiring to my license plate lights. They fixed the issue without my approval or even telling me the problem until after they called me to pick up the vehicle. Not only did they not get my approval to fix it, but they charged me a $140 labor price that was for the "diagnostic" to find out what was wrong. They "fixed" the issue and tried to tell me that they didn't charge me for fixing it, just to run the diagnostic. I've never run into a $140 charge for a "diagnostic". They proceeded to tell me that the wiring issue was from a wreck and not covered under warranty. My car was repaired by a collision center prior to me taking it in to find out what the issue was. Now that they have fixed the issue they will not reimburse me and neither will the collision center because the dealership touched it and now the collision center is not liable. Sounds like to me they are cheating people out of money. I will NEVER bring my car to this service department again. read more

Looking for a first car for my daughter on line and found one that she liked at this dealership. Sent an inquiry through the USAA app and received confirmation that the car was available. Made an appointment to see the vehicle this morning. Received another email confirmation that the vehicle would be available and ready to test drive at the appointment. Got up this morning, took my older daughter with me so she could drive the new one home for my younger daughter. Received a call from the dealership this morning confirming our appointment to look at this particular vehicle. Drove 40+ miles to the dealership with two girls out on Summer Break who would rather be sleeping only to arrive and be told that they sold the vehicle "last night". But, they said, "We have one with just a few more miles on it for just a little bit more." Now, they knew it was sold last night. They knew I was coming to look at that car. They emailed me the last night, then called this morning. I was never informed that the car I wanted was sold. Now, there is a term used in the car industry for what occurred to me, but I won't use it. Perhaps their sales force is just that unaware, or perhaps they don't mind losing potential customers, but to say I am irritated at not being told and then driving 40+ miles is an understatement. I hope that they'll be more forthcoming with other potential customers. read more
