Chicken Vindaloo, Rice Pilav, and Garlic Nan
Pip C.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant was quiet, perfect for dinner and conversation.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food was delicious!! I had the chicken vindaloo nice and spicy and my date had the Kashmiri chicken. Both were excellent. The garlic naan was perfectly prepared and the server was gracious, helpful, and good natured.

My bestfriend and I ordered butter chicken, Chicken Tikka Masala, pickles, chicken Tandoori Chicken, Garlic Nan and wow everything was impeccable. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is remarkable, the owners are so sweet & they even ended up giving us rice pudding on the house.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]10/10 service, food, & experience!![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] we will definitely be coming back soon & would definitely recommend!!!!

I enjoyed Clay Oven's service and overall ambiance! The food was good, not incredible, but I'd go back. My friend and I got the Chicken Tikka Masala and it was tasty. We both got mild spice and it wasn't spicy at all. The rice was good too. We also got the naan basket with plain naan, garlic naan, and onion kulcha. The plain naan was my favorite, the onion kulcha was tasty too, and garlic naan is always good! Almost forgot - we also got the vegetable samosa which was a litttttle spicy for me but tasty!

We ordered Seafood Combo #1 with 1 lb of head-off shrimp and 2 lbs of clams after swapping out the crawfish for another pound of clams. We chose the Super Ultimate Sauce with mild spice, and it was absolutely incredible. The sauce had so much flavor and the mild spice level was perfect. We also ordered a side of white rice, which was perfect for soaking up all that delicious sauce. The service really stood out, too. Even with the restaurant being packed, our server was friendly, attentive, and kept checking in to make sure we had everything we needed without ever making us feel rushed. From the food to the service, everything exceeded our expectations. It's not often you find a place that gets both right, especially on such a busy night. Cajun Bowl has officially become our go-to seafood spot, and we can't wait to come back. If you're craving a seafood boil, this place is definitely worth checking out!

The driver had already arrived and had been waiting the whole time. Nobody contacted us. They just said some ingredients were unavailable, but no one even tried to offer substitutions or ask if we'd like to replace anything. They simply canceled the entire order after it had already been confirmed. Really disappointing service. I won't be ordering from here again.

We ordered the ceviche ($21), papas bravas ($11), kale salad ($17), salmon ($35), and seafood pasta ($34). The ceviche was fresh and I really liked the citrusy notes (it was quite tropical and I thought it was possibly passionfruit?). The papas bravas was a decent sized serving and came with an addictive sauce. The kale salad came with a piece of fried feta and the only fault I found with it... was that I wanted more fried feta bits! Salmon was cooked well, and I liked the accompanying veggies - seemed like a very healthy Mediterranean dish. The seafood pasta was also very good. Husband said the fish in his dish was cooked even better than mine. Lastly, they offered us a whole complimentary dessert. We were already beyond stuffed at that point, but who are we to turn down a coconut creme brulee? Another review said they couldn't taste the coconut, but it's definitely there. It's not overpowering, but it's a good balance.

I would get it again, but if I wanted a paella, I wouldn't come here. But if I was here, I would try the paella. The rice wasn't that flavorful, and I wish there was more meat and not just seafood in the paella. The salmon was a little strange, and they had very large chunks of salmon in there. I didn't think it really fit the vibe of the paella. Also, it was really wet of a paella. The patatas bravas left more to be desired. I thought they were cut too large, so I felt like I was eating potatoes and not patatas bravas. I didn't get the Greek fries, but the waiter walked past with some, and those looked better, so I would probably recommend that instead. It was pretty empty. I came on Friday, July 3rd, holiday day, for dinner, and was able to get seating no problem. They had a few TVs where they were playing the World Cup.

La Ronda in San Mateo is a great find! The service was genuinely friendly and attentive from start…read moreto finish, and the menu is impressively diverse with something for everyone (though vegetarians may have fairly limited options). The restaurant was a little more than half full when we had dinner there on a Friday night and the ambiance is lively but not loud. We ordered a variety of dishes and everything was delicious, with very generous portion sizes that left us so full (with leftovers to spare). The ceviches were bright, limey, and tart in the best way, the chicken wings were crispy and juicy, the papa rellena was especially interesting (almost like an inside-out, deep-fried baked potato) with olives and raisins that were a pleasant surprise, and the lomo saltado was as comforting and dependable as it usually is. To top it all off, they even offer Peruvian beers, which was the perfect way to wash everything down. The location is a little bit odd but easy enough to find and park (there is plenty of parking across the main street in front of the BevMo if there isn't any directly in front of the restaurant).

Water poured and menus handed out. A basket of bread to the table. The staff was very patient with us as we had one person who was running late. Pros: * while we waited we started with calamari and yuca fries. * I had a great pisco sour cocktail. * my friends decided to do family style dining - they ordered three items. * I decided to order my own dish as it was my birthday, and didn't feel like sharing. The seafood stew tomato based was excellent. So much seafood - mussels, clams, shrimp, prawns, squid, and a crab leg. Cons: * my friends also ordered the seafood stew tomato based. After a while they asked about it. Lost in translation. Their order never placed with the kitchen. For dessert we got the alfajores. A sandwich cookie with a layer of dulce de leche. It was very sweet. Would have been better with a strong cup of coffee. I also received a complimentary scoop of ice cream in honor of my birthday. There are some parking spaces in front of the restaurant. We circled around the block. Ended up on the same side of the street but about one long block away. The five of us said the food was delicious and we'd like to return.

The restaurant has two levels with the second level dining being a more intimate space. We ordered three dishes to share and a coffee flight for three people and had leftovers because of how big the portions are. The coffee flight was least impressive as the pistachio cream viet coffee was more on the sour side and the salted cream viet coffee was a bit too bitter. The corn milk one was delightful and not as strong as the other two. The main highlight of the might was the What Da Duck!! The fatty duck skin was flavorful and the meat paired well with the coconut sticky rice from the Pork Ribs dish! The sauce was also savory, sweet and added a perfect bit of juiciness to the lean duck meat. The banh cuon was as expected, nothing super fancy. The pork ribs were also really flavorful but a tad bit dry. Our server was attentive and refilled water quickly. We overall had a fun girl's dinner here!

Always love the option to join the online waitlist ahead of time when reservations aren't available. Favorite dishes of the night were: -Gnocchi Fritto appetizer: Never had fried gnocchi before, had a great puffy texture. Truffle taste in the truffle cream sauce wasn't very strong. -Zucchine e Maiz lasagna: Pesto was a great sauce choice and paired well with the zucchini and corn. -Squid Ink Seafood Pasta (special): Generous seafood portions and the dish was flavorful. -Complimentary focaccia: Fluffy and yummy with olive oil. Other dishes: The Italian Sausage lasagna was fine. I personally love crispy lasagna edges, but some people found it too crisp and too dry. The salad (Insalata di Rucola) wasn't mind blowing, but I'm glad we ordered a veg to cut through the richness and heaviness of three carb-heavy entrees. The restaurant itself is smaller than expected, so I would avoid coming here with large parties. It also felt really hot and stuffy inside, which I anticipate getting worse as summer progresses. The interior is cutely decorated. Service was initially attentive. We did have to flag down our waitress multiple times to order and get the check. Overall, my party enjoyed the food and we would come back!
