Only came to Hobby Lobby after I couldn't find a specific shade of something at Dollar Tree, Walmart or Michael's. Almost didn't find it there too, but thank god I kept looking everywhere or else I would've missed it. Since I never go here, I have no idea where anything was and was in a time crunch. When I went to go check out I noticed a male employee went to stand by the door. As an ex retail employee, I know exactly what that means - they think someone is going to steal. The way he was so obviously watching me like a hawk while I was in line was a joke. Maybe it's cause I quickly walked through the entire store as I was in a rush? Idk. One thing I got that caught my eye is a storage box. As a previous retail employee, I know you're supposed to check the inside of the box. The cashier didn't and put it in the bag and he told her to open it up. I looked over at him and smiled and laughed. She took it out of the bag and opened it up to find it empty. Then I looked back at him, laughed again and smiled. What I wanted to do was leave everything there and just leave. I don't even care to this give this business my money as it is, but the employees could be trained A LOT better. My cashier even proceeded to miss an item when ringing things up, and barely caught it after she gave me my total. So worried I was going to steal when the employee almost gave me something for free. Truly laughable. Maybe he should've payed more attention to what she was doing. Don't plan on coming back. Especially when they have tens of employees all over and 2 of the slowest cashiers. Their register system of manually entering the prices and discounts is SO outdated. Get with the times. Overall? Selection was decent. Service? Awful. Value? Overpriced, even with 40% off nearly everything. Can find way better quality at a lower price elsewhere. Employees? Need further training, especially if the man was a manager. read more

First of all, the store is HUGE. Very organized and clean and i'm not used to so much space and options. I came from hawaii & hawaii people know that the closet thing to a Hobby Lobby is Ben Franklin crafts store. Selection it's a lot and with all different seasons. Really excited for fall and xmas again. Anyways , we came here to buy graduation things for a lei to make and they were all out. It so happens that we came across the store manager Jeff, very patient and very helpful. He went to look up their inventory and kindly told us that he's awaiting a new batch that would come in wednesday which is today and he said to just call first thing in the morning and have the staff out some on hold with Jeff's request. I never called in the morning because i was too busy BUT at 5pm ish i called, they still had some in stock and they kept it for me til closing (8pm). I love this store for several reasons! First and foremost they are closed on Sundays! It is refreshing to see a major company not chasing the almighty dollar! I started shopping here a couple months ago. Never thought to ever come in but I had a lot of time so I thought, might as well check it out. I love how they always have items for sale. I came in and they had throws, pillows and mats for 50% off and they still had the sign up. The sale ended a couple of days ago but management honored the price for me which was amazing! The checkout employees deal with around 1000 people per day. Please give the employees some slack and be kind toward them. Hobby Lobby sales are very straight forward and are the same across the nation. If you have questions about whether or not an item you want is currently on sale, ask an employee (or check online) before continuing to shop. Only 2 ppl at the register, little to no help. I asked for help finding a specific item and 2 diff employees gave me vague descriptions and I had to walk around the HUGE store 3 times. Instead of them helping me they were too lazy until I finally asked a THIRD employee and the man I asked made me feel stupid and said "I just told you where they were in aisle X behind this and that I literally told you where they were!" in front of everyone...clearly I didn't find what I needed if I've made 3 laps around the store and am asking for assistance. Would it kill people to just show me the way around the store or walk me over to a certain spot? Ruined my day don't come here ppl don't care. And no the store wasn't busy. read more

My inner nerd was super excited for this Hobby Lobby location to open so close to home. Fun fact about me, I used to do a lot of crochet and knit work in my younger days. I stopped when my children were born because they took up so much of my time. Now that they are a little older and enjoy arts and crafts, I have introduced them to this glorious place so their inner nerd can emerge as well. If you haven't been into a Hobby Lobby, I like to say it's like a Michael's, but multiplied by 5. They have everything you need for DIY projects, to home decor, to art supplies and more. My favorite part of the store is their HUGE artificial flower collection. So many colors and types to customize your own bouquet. And of course they have a vast selection of fabric, yarn and tools for my knitting needs. Our first visit was a few days after their grand opening. Everything was of course super neat and organized. There were still empty shelves, but the employees were working hard to stock their inventory. As we walked through, we had about 4 employees say hi and ask if we finding everything we needed. They were all super friendly and looked happy to be there. Fast forward a few weeks. We ventured in again to purchase a model car for my bf to build with our son. And we found a few unicorn stickers and coloring books for my daughter. We also found a few picture frames we liked to hang in our stairway. This location is new and shiny, I hope it stays this way. Worst customer service I've ever experienced at a Hobby Lobby. Unfortunately it's the only one close by. I never thought to write a review until my experience with a MOD today. The manager (shorter lady with glasses and curly-ish long hair) was so rude! I had a return, and when I entered, I was on my phone and she told me to go to the register if I had a return. I told her "I will in a moment thank you". (Clearly I'm on the phone). When I approached the register she asked (from behind the cashier) if the receipt was in the bag. I said no I will get it in a second (it was in my purse). She then said loudly, they cannot refund if I don't have a receipt. It was so awkward and confusing! Umm.. I told her it's in my purse just give me a second. The whole experience took about 10 minutes because the cashier does everything manually and he either doesn't know how to use the register or it doesn't work. He is always there, he's nice but good Lord don't go if you are in any sort of hurry. I dont understand why he doesn't have a scanner and has to enter skus and write things down like it's 1981. When I was exiting the manager was coming back in from outside and looked at me like I was scum. Wow. Everyone looks and acts miserable that works there. It's very sad. Well it's one of those craft stores you can go to for cheap China-made products, not that cheap quality can't come from anywhere else in the world but you get the idea: it's mass produced garbage mostly. I mean if you don't care really about the quality and jus need something for your kids to do then this is totally a fine store for you to pick up some finger paint or needlepoint projects. But for serious crafters or artists I would not recommend it just because of the cheapness and low quality (and you will pay the same prices at Desert Art supplies for example but they will be really good quality because they actually cater to professional artists). I no longer come here because EVERY time I did I have had to return one or more things from each shopping trip due to it being poorly made or just flat out defective right out of the box. I notice also that the majority of the things I returned found their way back onto the shelves for sale even when I expressly stated they were defective and showed the cashier exactly what was wrong. THEY. DONT. CARE. If they can get away with selling their broken crap to the next person you can bet they will try, they probably figure not everyone will go through the trouble of returning it. Lines are always super long even when it's not a holiday, and they used to have a huge sewing and fabric area and it's been pared down soo much there's not a great deal of variety anymore. read more

I've always usually had great service here. Today I went in, and there was a blanket my child wanted. It had no price tag. So the cashier asked a "Sarah" what the price was and she said "it's an expensive blanket. It's 23$" I said are you sure about that price? And I proceeded to look on the hobby lobby website and found it for 19$ (obviously not a huge difference but I didn't want to be overcharged). As I said "oh I found it online!" Sarah goes "do you want it?"... but in the most condescending way like I was an Inconvenience. Absolutely love the Hobby Lobby on St. Rose. So glad there's one in west Henderson, so I don't have to go near Sunset Station anymore. Thank you Hobby Lobby!! My Life Savor for Christmas, for my 18 year old. why you ask?? I was on the hunt for the Circut Mug Maker . . . (all my son wanted). so I head to Walmart on Serene, pushed the Service button for them to open the case to purchase what i wanted. . 10 mins go by, 3 people with walkmans and i hear it telling them Customer service. . no show. so my bad, i said to Heck with this I'm going to Michaels, well last minute change, i detoured to Hobby Lobby at St. Rose. and I am SOOOO Thankful for the Assistnt Manager's and the girl she had to pull aside to help pull this off. My Son was with me shopping, so she had to help play it off while my son was standing there, and were able yto help get the gift to the registers without my son's knowledge. But at check out he did kinda see, but I want to thank the Staff for the EXCELLENT service i had tonight. the location is fabulous, Employees are Always so friendly and have great customer service. So thankful to Bonnie and Cynthia @ the St Rose Hobby Lobby! My 14 year old son and I came in looking for pieces to repair a special puka shell necklace that was my late husbands when he was a teen. My son's Freshman pictures are tomorrow and the necklace broke yesterday. Cynthia was super helpful in locating Bonnie for us. Bonnie was very knowledgeable and helped us through every step. Everyone here is typically very nice, however, you have that one employee who can ruin your experience. as my toddler and I finish paying, I look around to see if there's a place to place my hand basket by the cashier. I don't see anything so I turn and ask Danniah very kindly if there's somewhere to put the hand basket. She looks around and just says "they go back where you found them." Really? hands full, toddler Following, and she's oblivious as she loudly keeps talking to her co worker laughing at who knows what. Without any discussion they told me to contact the manufacturer??? How does this solve my exchange? The manager was completely cold and unfriendly. I was in the store there were only 5-6 people that were workers walking around. Nobody had a clue or any knowledge of where anything I was asking for was. I asked on lady where to find mirror Perl and stick paper for crafts she showed me an isle about a block long and with at least 100 different colored papers and I asked how am I going to ever find it in here? She said she didn't work that section but it would be there somewhere and left. Then I asked a guy to call for someone to open up the cabinet for paint. 15 minutes went by I heard no page while I stayed on the isle. He passed me again asking if anyone came I said no still nobody came. I left and went to Michaels. No help, no knowledgeable people prices not marked on many items, things that aren't on sale put amidst items listed at 50% off. Very un organized and un professional.
