Left a blazer for cleaning. It was simply hung in the back apparently. When I picked up gentleman brought it out, unbuttoned, not covered, then put a bag over it. It was wrinkled, and a paper I had in the pocket was still there! Buyer beware. read more

As others have written, this place deserves to be denied a renewal of their business license. They are not "in business" unless robbing and treating their customers rudely (what I really mean is like s**t) is a type of business. Promised pickup dates are lies. Efforts to get recompense for failure to deliver on promises ( not once but three times). Fake apologies for misleading or lying to us. Last, absolute REFUSAL to accept responsibility for failures, just more excuses. Oh, and I forgot to mention when my wife called to check status of our order she was treated as if answering her questions was a big damn favor. If you like being cheated, lied to and treated like dirt, this is the cleaner for you. If not, do yourself a favor and go someplace else. read more

I have had some interesting experiences here, but there's never been anything major in those experiences that have deterred me from bringing my business here. During my most recent visit, I left my garments for a full week. When I came by again, I was terrified that they might have donated my clothes. Thankfully, they still had them and when I asked it sounded as though they never donate clothing that gets left behind. Maybe it's an older tradition to do that. My boyfriend also leaves his clothing here from time to time. He took his peacoat to them earlier this year despite knowing the zipper had been having issues closing properly. They noticed and called him to ask if he'd like them to fix it as they have someone who comes by and fixes such things for them. When he got it back, the zipper was backwards--meaning it was sewed on the way a women's zipper is. He called them to let them know and he had to explain because they didn't realize there was a difference between men's and women's clothing! They were very considerate, listened to his complaints, and fixed it the way he asked. I enjoy bringing my items here. You drop it off, they give you a "receipt," and you come pick up your items a few days later. Super simple and easy! read more

The don't even deserve the 1 star that I have to give them... they completely ruined a 100 dollar shirt of mine and refused to pay for it, even a pay of it, not did they offer me free services til they paid it back that way. I wore the shirt once... they didn't warn me of any chance that they would completely discolor my shirt trying to remove a tiny stain. Not only did they ruin that shirt, they ripped them hem out of the other shirt i brought to them at the same time... DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE...I repeatedly had to take back shirts that were supposed to be cleaned and never were... TERRIBLE BUSINESS CONDUCT AND TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! read more

I have been bringing my clothes to Claychester for probably 10+ years. I don't bring an expensive evening gown here, but definitely, they do ALL our basic dry cleaning. The staff is always friendly. There's hardly ever a wait. I've had one issue with a dress being stretched longer and they readily offered to fix it! I once couldn't find my son's navy blazer and the manager checked the entire line for me- I later found it in the wrong closet in my house. Clothing can sit there for weeks bc I forgot to pick it up, and it's always still there. They've never lost an clothing item. I think they do a great job! read more

Disapointed. The counter staff are nice enough but it seems that about every other time I pick up there is some excuse why my order isn't ready. Usually I agree to their timeline -" Thursday after 5 ok?" - but either the order isn't ready or only part of it is available, meaning I have to come back. This morning I went to pick up but my order but even though it was to be ready last night it wasn't available. Its frustrating & annoying that they can't do what they promise. I'm not looking for perfection just hoping that the service provider can provide the service they offer. Seem unreasonable? read more

I wish I could give them negative stars. Long story short - terrible. Long story LONG, read on... Sure, all dry cleaners have small scuffles now and then over broken buttons, stain issues, etc. but this operation is like nothing I have ever witnessed. Shame on them for ruining my rehearsal dinner dress (followed by sassy responses, refusal to acknowledge it, multiple attempts to blame me, all around TERRIBLE customer service...) Shame on ME for actually caving and utilizing the $50 credit they eventually put on my account for compensation after I raised enough hell about the dress. (Just trying to save a few bucks around the holidays and thought it would be ok to drop some work basics off there....) I should have known better. Once again, I found myself in a screaming match with the man behind the counter and once again, it was their error they attempted to blame me for. (of course there was an issue with the $50 credit they claimed to have issued me... like I said, shame on me for even attempting to put any faith in this place) The man honestly yelled at me and told me, "You can't yell at me. I have no idea what they do with the clothes back there. That has nothing to do with me. The computer tells me what you owe, right here, so that is what you owe. No exceptions. Come back tomorrow." Sounds like just the type of place you want to drop off your garments to someone else's care, right??? I offered to step aside, to allow him to tend to other less difficult customers while he wait for the manager to call back and he began to scoff at all the other customers too. (smart move, eh? rude to customers who have been silent observers this whole time...) The best part about my experience was when the rude man disappeared in the back, the two other customers waiting in the lobby with me who witnessed the whole thing, validated my arguments unprovoked. Both shared with me that they do not bring anything of value here, due to their tendency to ruin several items and more importantly, NOT even tell you about it! The only redeeming factor was that one of the gentlemen gave me the names of the two cleaners he takes his nicer items, so now I have somewhere else to go nearby. Take your business elsewhere. I've been to some bad cleaners, but this one without a doubt takes the cake. Claychester Cleaners seems to think it's acceptable to operate a third world extortion scheme out of a storefront in Kirkwood, MO. They took our custom-made designer drapes worth hundreds of dollars, and when we returned to collect them, the representative at the counter refused to even show them to us until we paid $84 (which was higher than the advertised price). After ten minutes of arguing and my demands to see MY OWN PROPERTY, it was finally produced. The drapes were in exactly the same condition they were in when dropped off, and I have doubts that they ever made it off of the hanger. Because I refused to pay for services that were not conducted and allow myself to be a victim of extortion, we still do not have our property back. This will likely end in legal action. read more

This has been by far the worst experience I have ever had with a dry cleaners, or business! The employee was INCREDIBLY RUDE, and REFUSED to help me. Refused to let me see my garment without paying. And refused to give me my ticket once it was determined that I would need to see the manager the following day. The manager was nice at first meeting, later on by phone- COMPLETELY incapable of holding up the promises she made in person. COMPLETELY unprofessional, and REFUSED to help me, clean the garment a FOURTH time, and refused to have the owner contact me. I Will be seeking LEGAL action, and have already filed a complaint with the BBB. read more
