This place is a joke. Please do yourself a huge favor and look for a new car elsewhere. The people here are far from professional and are extremely rude. My sales individual couldn't even tell me anything about the car I was looking at. He didn't have a clue. When I test drove the car he sat on his phone the entire time and when I'd ask him a question about a feature he would say, "yeah" or "I'm not sure." Very rude. There were a couple minor things wrong with my vehicle and they said their service department would fix them. They told me to expect a call and it's been a month with no call from anyone. I've tried calling a few times to set up an appointment to get the things fixed and they will literally hang up on you.... Are you serious Clay Cooley? I could go on and on about the reasons not to buy a car here but it would take all day. It is well worth the hassle of weaving through the construction to get in there (at this time, enter off Clay as all the other entrances are blocked by construction equipment. The process took way too long, but I expect it's like that most places. Took three hours to complete the sale including the usual third party warranty B.S. The dealership is quite clean and has some really nice balloons (not being sarcastic here - they were really nice). The Corvette sitting on the rotary platform is a real looker. I thought it was a yellow Ferrari. We love Orlando and, other than the usual business of making us wait 10 minutes for each proposal/counter, it was great. Very Very BAD experience... I don't even know where to begin... We made an appointment to see a specific truck with the internet sales man and when we got to the dealership the truck wasn't even available to see. They had to go get it from a different dealership. Well we ended up liking the truck and purchasing it. We were there longer than we should have been, we already had our financing the only thing we needed was to sign the title app and a few other docs. I went to my bank to finalize my auto loan two days after and they still hadn't received the buyers order. I called so I could have them send it and no one was helpful. My teller finally spoke with someone and the guy sent her a picture of my buyers order from his phone and the image was horrible, she asked if is was the best he can do and he said yea unless you want to wait 10 more min so I can hook up the fax machine and fax it. SMH. The second day we had the truck, the battery died. We called our sales rep and emailed him...no response. So we decided to call and speak to a manager, well apparently they had no sign of our paper work since it was filed under someone else's name. We got transferred everywhere and no one could help. Someone in the servicing dept. advised us, we would have to pay 150.00 and that the truck wouldn't be ready until the following Monday. Really? not acceptable, it doesn't take a whole week to change a battery. Our sales rep emailed us back finally and called us 10 times when they needed the draft for the truck but when we needed assistance with the battery no one was available to help. I spoke with our sales man and let him know what was going on and how I felt about the situation, he said he was going to do everything in his power to get a refund to us for the battery we paid for out of our pocket... have we received it? NO! On top of that the receptionist that answered the day I called was very rude, no customer service skills what so ever. I emailed my sales man two weeks later and let him know that I haven't received a call from a manager about the refund and I was filing a complaint with the BBB. No response...When I went to pick up my plates I decided to speak with a manager, explained everything that went on and he also promised a refund by the following Monday 6-20, he said he would personally call me to let me know when my refund was ready.. I called Tue 6-21 and he was not available so I left a message early in the day, I still have not received a call. Anyone who is buying a car is expecting good customer service and honesty, since they are making a big purchase and I didn't receive any of that. read more

I just left Clay Cooley Chevrolet feeling like my time was wasted on purpose and embarrassed. I talked to Leslie Reddy over the phone earlier this morning trying to get them to price match another dealership. I told him I had my own financing and was ready to buy if they at least came down on the price. He did tell me they couldn't take negotiating seriously over the phone so I agreed to come in. I get there, he takes my info, we go on the test drive then he comes back with the price I told him I wouldn't pay over the phone. Hee takes it to the back and comes back saying they want to know what I wanted to pay. The price match was 2K less but I only asked that they take off 1K. He comes back and tells me the only way his manager will approve is if I finance with them. I told him multiple times I wouldn't. I told him he could have told me this before I drove from Richardson to Irvin. He had the nerve to say that he didn't know I wasn't financing with them. WTF?!!! So now I get up to leave and I told him he wasted my gas and time so he yells as I'm walking out the door GOOD LUCK AT SOUTHWEST KIA! That was so embarrassing with a lobby full of other customers. I bought my previous car from here but never again. Lost my business all over 1K and because I wouldn't finance through them. I had a bad experience this weekend on purchasing a car. They call me in to trade my car off because they need some pre owe cars out there. So, I went in to see what they are talking about. My car was upside down I had bought the car around Sept. last year I knew it was upside down I couldn't trade my car in because of that. The sale man say I can make it work going back and forth with number etc. So the Manage Ronald Haskins came in to talk to us about what he can do and what he can't do. I told him I want my payment at this price because of the upside down the payment will be higher I can't afford a high payment. With no trade I can get the payment down to $399-425. I have to trade the car off I can't afford three car payments. The car is for my daughter, So make the story short. I went to the financial office he was wonder is this a trade I say yes. He didn't see the paper work on the other car. So we drove off with the new car and thought they was keeping the other car. When I got home I received a call from the sale man. I forgot the other car. I spoke with Ronald Haskin he say no trade no ma'ma. I was pissy I am bring the car back. When I got there he and the sale man walk up to me with no apology or sorry with the misunderstanding. He look at Dominick give her the keys and look at me and say .. I don't know what you was going to do with the other car with a nasty attitude. All my experience with buying car this is the worse one. We took the keys and gave him the other. My daughter had left her stuff in the new car. She went up to Ronald for the keys so she can get her stuff out of the car. He told her to run and catch up with Dominick he got the keys. Drove three hours to view a car that I had found on Car Guru. I spoke with a sales person and she had said she would take a look to make sure that it fit my needs. I called about two hours out to confirm that I was coming. Upon arriving I found the car in the back of the service department. I hadn't been I detailed and to my surprise it was the wrong transmission. The sales person that I had been working with refused to come out and talk with me and the assistant GM only told me how sorry he was. Sorry doesn't do anything to take the string out of a six hour total drive and an extremely disappointed daughter. Very unprofessional and disorganized. Would not under any circumstances recommend this dealership to anyone. Fortunately for me I drove to Mini Cooper of Plano and they treated me like royalty and we are purchasing a car from them. I will not make a novel of this. This company is on the edge of "Deceptive Trade Practices". Their on line site quotes one price with a discount. When you go they say "You don't qualify for the full discount". They qoute you one interest rate and charge another. Then added on for $800.00 an insurance policy in case you are upside down and your car is totaled and this is with putting 30% down. They sell you an extended warranty but provide you with no documentation afterwards. This was my female neighbor who had never bought a new car before. Short of it was I went back less than 48 hours later and threatened action for false advertizing. We walked out with over $4,000.00! I would never set foot in any of the dealerships again. read more

I am very disappointed in the service I received from the service department at Clay Cooely. I brought in my 2008 Pontica G6 with paperwork telling the mechanic that I had some sort of transmission issue. I received a call from my service advisor who strongly advised me to replace and service the negative battery cable telling me that it was a high probability as the cause of my transmission issues. So after paying $75 for the cable and $306.25 for labor (high cost for replacing a battery cable don't you think), I still have the same issues with the transmission that I originally brought my car in for servicing. So you ask why I brought it to you to service in the first place when there are so many other serving options available. I was told by my personal mechanic ( who by the way diagnosed the main electrical controller as the problem ) and by the Auto Zone gentleman that also diagnosed the controller, said that the dealer would have to reprogram the controller once it was replaced. Therefore, because my time and money is valuable I decided to have the local GM dealer service my car - which I will not do again. I picked my car up on Friday afternoon Dec 4th and drove it from your dealer ship to the Irving Mall and the same issue was still present. I called and of course had to leave a message for my service advisor Johnny Gamez and as of today Dec 10th I have not heard from him or any other advisor. read more

If it was possible to give 0 stars I would. This is hands down the WORST car dealership I've ever dealt with. They intentionally take advantage of new car buyers who don't know the rules or the steps to buying a car. I should have listened to the other dealerships and NEVER gone here!! I am a victim of domestic violence and went in to get a car from this dealership. I was told I was approved for a car and that it would be a easy process. That all I needed was to come in with my down payment and they would handle the rest. I was told since I was already approved it would be a few hours tops before I drove off with mybcar. Had I known any better I would have taken someone with me because this was a total scam. I went there and got ran through the ringer. The sales man and the finance person told me everything I wanted to hear to make me sign the paperwork to leave the lot with the car. I was told that I had 45 days to make my 1st payment. I believed them because in speaking with other dealerships I was told the same thing. I explained to them I am a victim of domestic violence and was moving the very next week out of town several hours away for my safety. I explained to them I would not be able to make the payment until 45 days because I was relocating and changing jobs so it would be that long before I got settled and got a paycheck. The sales man assured me this was fine. He assured me that I had a set due date every month but that all I had to do was call the finance company a few days before my payment was due and get it changed and they'd be fine with that. I was assured this by the finance person handling my paperwork as well. I stressed to them all that I needed to be 100% sure this was the case before I signed the paperwork. Everyone assured me it was. When I called the finance company it was a while new story. Chase Financial is a sham. The representative Jasmine told me that she didn't know why I was told that it wasn't true and that if I didn't have my payment on the date they set for me that they would take the vehicle. I've been calling the dealership leaving messages and one has returned my call. I've been calling chase Financial and they are extremely nasty and rude to me anytime I call. Their representatives mock me, make fun of me, threaten me and Noone is willing to assist. When I got the car the sales person told me he got $1000 taken off of the price so I was happy. When in actuality they upped the price of the vehicle by more than $1000 to more than what it is worth on NADA or Kelly blue book!! I was told that my interest rate and car payment were one thing and then chase Financial told me something completely different. These two companies are working together in order to get over on new car buyers. It's bad enough I have to deal with a domestic violence situation then on top of that these crooks have now taken advantage of me knowing the situation that I was in. Convinced me to get a car that from the beginning they never intended to let me keep. I am going to talk to an attorney because this can't be legal what they've done and I'm not going to let them get away with it!!! They talk "100% Satisfaction", but when it was determined that they put unsafe tires on a vehicle, they even denied that they had put the tires on and said the car was sold "as is". Wow, where to start. I was looking for a specific vehicle and it just so happened that Clay Cooley had the vehicle in stock. I am not a local buyer so I did everything on line. The vehicle was priced on there website with a sale price of $38,999. There was no fine print just the msrp and then the discounted sale price of $38,999. Right underneath that was a button that said request a quote. I clicked the link and submitted my contact information and the vehicle I was interested in. Later on I recieved an email that said the special Internet price they could offer me on this vehicle was $38,999. The next morning I called in to the dealership to request some actual pictures of the vehicle because only stock photos were listed. After 3 days of calling 3-4 times a day I finally did receive the pictures. After seeing the pictures I told the salesperson I would like to go ahead and put a deposit on the vehicle and start the purchase process. He then told me he had to talk to his boss first, which I was a little confused on because I wasn't negotiating. They sent me a written offer and I accepted it. However at the time I didn't argue. A couple hours later I recieved a phone call from the salesman apologizing but said he had to sell the truck for $46,000 not $38,999. Obviously I was pretty upset and surprised by this. I told him I had a written quote for the $38,999 as well as it is on line listed for $38,999. He could not explain why the price was higher. Absolutely terrible experience all the way around! It's almost impossible to get anyone to return your calls and it's even harder to actually buy a vehicle.. It is hard for me to understand how a business like this can stay open. I am a business owner myself so I try to be understanding of the business side but this is just strait up lying. So not sure where to start...I went in on 12/31 looking for a new silverado. Tried out a couple v6 and a couple v8. Decided on a V8, i never got pricing on the one model i liked. I asked about the incentives and the price online-with rebates was roughly 29K. So filled out the credit app, sales guy goes to finance manager, then Finance Manager- short troll looking hispanic with glasses, approaches me, and said you need a co-signer, i said why? I still had not gotten a price on the vehicle i wanted or even an appraisal on my trade in. The dude straight up just walks away. So i asked the sales guy, what was the problem, and he said he didnt know but they could get us in a V6 Silverado, but not a V8. Again, they never told me what i as approved for, or what my trade in value was. Then i just laughed and told the sales guy, im sorry you wasted your time, but you guys are a joke, you NEVER even bothered to ask about a downpayment, I had 10K to put down, and the pricing difference between a V6 and a V8 was only about a 2K difference!!!! So he then refused to give me the keys to my truck, when i said he can give me my keyes back or i can call police, whatever he preffered, he gave me my keyes, and said he would call me tommorrow with all the new incentives kicking in.....i asked them to PLEASE never call me. Went to Friendly Chevrolet, and guess what, i walked out with a V8 Silverado, with more options than i need !! I wouldn't even give it 1 star. I bought my car here with a problem with my tire being low, it to date has NEVER gotten fixed. My light is always turning on, I think its a problem with the rim. Staff is soooo freaking rude. Like mentioned in SEVERAL other review, complete lack of respect for people time and people in general. I once took my car in and come to find out that they changed out something to do with my car without telling me until I complained that my car was smelling like antifreeze, but my car had not been overheating. I still get that smell and all they say is that it's on the hoses and that why it continues to smell like that. I received a recall for something to do with the motor, I called to make an appointment and they said they would call me back when they got the part or whatever they needed to fix my car and to date I have not gotten that appointment. When my car hit 100,000 miles I got a code 52, but no one, not even the manager knew what code 52 was. Well, apparently it is suggested to have my timing belt changed, but my timing belt is good. Just frustrated, too many issues on each visit to write down. I dropped my car off for an oil change because of a coupon I received in the mail. Everyone was friendly and the drop off process was simple to set up and complete. Johnny called me and advised there were other issues with my car and it would be roughly $438 to complete. He sent me a picture text of the issue with my car and agreed to return my broken parts. I called him a few times to verify my car would be ready at 5 and he agreed. I got to the dealership around 5:15 to pick up my car and it wasn't ready because it was being washed. No problem...my family and I went into the waiting room. The area was clean and comfortable. When it was time to pay I noticed that my bill was higher than the original price quoted..I spoke with Johnny and he agreed to remove the 49.95 fee that was causing the increase. Everything was great until the drive home and Service Tire message popped up on my car. I literally called the dealership in a panic at least six times attempting to get in contact with Johhny and I text him a picture of the error message I received with no response. It wasn't until I called from a different number and asked the receptionist to get me in contact with anyone just to verify that when I dropped my car off in the morning I would have a way to work. After speaking with another service advisor he confirmed with a manager that I would. The next morning I decided not to bring my car back to the dealership because I was disappointed in the lack of response to my concerns of the error message that was displayed after picking up my vehicle as well as the lack of integrity in the situation disturbed me. Instead I took it to Discount Tire where the employee was able to assess the issue, give a resolution and a timeframe of repair in less than 10 minutes. I feel as if Johnny could and should have done the same. That is what stopped this from being a 5 score. Good customer service should continue even after the customer has picked up the car especially if there has been a constant communication prior. read more

The reason for this rating is due to the car dealership posting false information regarding the vehicle that was for sale. The advertisement stated it had a navigation system and on star services. Whenever I purchased the vehicle, I turned on the radio and neither the OnStar works nor the Navigation. That day I proceeded to take the vehicle to our local Chevrolet dealership of which the tech informed me that the navigation antennae would have to be replaced and wasn't to sure that the navigation itself would work so it could be a costly repair. From that point the dealership has failed to return my calls or even show any signs of empathy regarding this issue which is their fault since they falsely advertised an expensive part of the vehicle. Communication isn't up to par and ultimately they only care about selling the vehicle and nothing else. I would definitely recommend that you find other deals elsewhere they will start off friendly and then shut the doors after they sell you the vehicle and find out it has issues! read more

If i could put no star thats what my review would be. We took our truck in for a routine oil change and tire rotation in January. Our truck has off road tires so we have to make sure our tires get rotated often. When we picked up our truck we noticed that the tires were not rotated. They said they were and we showed them how we knew they were not. After checking with the service people it turned out they didn't rotate them although they had checked it off on the service form. We went in again (should have known better) for the same service this month (April) but this time we marked our tires with permanent marker and AGAIN they didn't rotate the tires, even though they checked off on the service form that they did. I spoke to the parts manager because the service manager was not in. He asked us how we knew that they weren't rotated and had us show him where we marked the tires. He thought we were lying and when we showed him he just walked off. I felt like he could care less for our inconvenience. We just stood there until took our truck to the back to have the tires rotated. I am sure that we are not the first nor will we be the last to pay for some kind of maintenance to our vehicle and not have it done at this location. This is the place to go if you like getting ripped off and lied to...We will not be going back EVER.... read more

I went in on 6/20/15 to get a car from Clay Cooley Chevrolet. I first worked with Andrew Hawkins then he dumped me over to Tommy Boone. I look at the cars in their fresh start program and one what's listed online is NOT what's on the actual lot. Tommy then showed me a 2012 Nissan Altima that was behind the service center wall. Test drove the car and decided to get it. After I signed my life away the with finance dept, Tommy tells me as he was putting gas I the car the check engine light came on. He stated that he would come get the car from my job on Monday 6/22 to have the service dept look at it since they were already close. He comes and gets the car and the light was off, until I drove home and it came right back on. He does this like 2 more times. Until finally I went in on a Saturday and him and I went to speak to Shane in the service center and I also advise the car is hesitating at red lights and when getting on the freeway. Shane then tells me that this is a transmission issue and that it needs to go to Nissan to get fix. Please keep in mind this was BEFORE I EVER MADE MY FIRST CAR PAYMENT! Oh then I get a call from a Jackie that says that I cant get my plates because the DMV is holding them since my car has never had a Texas State Inspection. On top of this nightmare Tommy knew my paper tags expired on 8/19/15 and he told me on 8/21/15 that he couldn't extend the time on the tags and that if I get a ticket just bring it to them and they will cover the ticket for me. also during this time I was getting the run around from them to take my car to Nissan to get the transmission looked at so the car can get inspected. Oh one other thing per the DMV they went in on 7.1.15 and only signed up for Title only and not the TTYL they charged me for. I am very disappointed! My 2014 Camaro is having issues with the key getting stuck in the ignition and won't release when I cut the car off. I took my vehicle to Clay Cooley Chevrolet in Irving, TX on 10/31/15 and on 11/03/15. I've been having this issue for over a week. This is not safe. I took my car to this dealership on 10/31/15 and advised them of the issue that I was having and they told me to bring it back during the week because they may have to take the steering wheel apart to repair the issue. I had to take my vehicle back on 11/03/15 because when I got to work I couldn't get the key out at all. I turned my vehicle on and off 10 times and I still wasn't able to get the key out of the ignition so I went back to the dealership. When I made it to the dealership I was able to show the lady in the service department that the key was stuck; I was being set up with a rental under the impression that they will resolve the issue and all of a sudden she approached me saying that they were able to get the key out with no issue but they will keep checking it for me but if they didn't diagnose anything then I will have to come back to pick my car up. What the heck? I just showed you when I first arrived that the key was stuck and wouldn't release from the ignition so what's the problem now, so now I'm frustrated because I was sitting there for almost an hour waiting for my rental to be prepared and also missing time from work so I wanted to speak with the service manager. Guess what? No help from the service manager, he honestly didn't care! All of a sudden the key started working but I told him it's not safe for me to be driving and the key is consistently getting stuck, I don't want the car to stall while I'm driving it or what if the key gets stuck to the point that it won't start the car at all? The service manager wasn't helpful at all, I had to basically tell him that I will figure it out and he just said okay and walked off. read more

I looked online and found some pretty good looking deals on some Silverado's. I sent a message and said I was looking at the trucks and would like to test drive them. I live in Arkansas and as I was driving to Irving I got a call and we talked about the trucks that I was looking at. I talked to Jose Chavez and he talked to me about the trucks that I was looking at and told me to ask for him when I got there. I get there and ask for Jose. About 20 minutes of waiting he comes over and hands me off to alberto. I told him what I was looking at he goes in and talks to someone at a desk and another 10-15 minutes later he comes back and says that the trucks I was looking at where gone. Both of them. Gone. He told me that he could get me in a brand new 2016 for 34k but then when we went to look at those he started to tell me it was going to be more like 40 and up. I asked to be shown something similar and we go look at what he has. The similar trucks (same year, close in miles, same engine, color, etc.) were much more than the online price. "we can work on that price and get you where you need to be". That's great right? No. He went to talk to his manager and came back and told me what his best price would be and that they got it down a little. It was the same price as online. He told me that there are dealer add-on's. I asked him what those are and he told me nitrogen for the tires. I guess nitrogen costs you guys 6k for 4 tires because that's all he told me. If that's the case, I strongly suggest you find another vendor to buy your nitrogen from. He began to get a little upset that I was questioning the price. I told him where he needed to be which wasn't a lowball price at all, and he said no. I then told him if he couldn't get closer to my number then I would have to look elsewhere. He didn't seem to care that he lost a sale and sent me on my way. I drove 250 miles to look at trucks that were on your website the night before and then I show up and they are all of a sudden gone? By reading the comments it seems like this happens all the time. I wasted probably 4 hours at your dealership (by far the slowest place I've ever been to buy a car). I drove across town to Young Chevy and talked to randy. He earned my business and helped me get a good deal on a new 1500. I never write reviews about anything good or bad but this was beyond bad and I feel like more people need to know to avoid your business at all costs. It looks like this happens all the time based on the reviews. You guys know it happens and you do not care one bit. I guess that's probably why you guys have a total of 48 complaints on the BBB. I wish I would have saved myself some time and just went to Young's Chevy to begin with. read more

Go somewhere else. All of their new vehicles are marked up with $1,250 addendum for worthless items - etching (cost about $100), clear coat (comes free from the factory), and putting nitrogen in the tires (costs about $5). The salesman wouldn't even disclose the amount of rebates, or the actual vehicle rpice, and wanted to dance around with payment amount. I was ready to walk, when the manager came out to play hardball. He offered me the internet price plus his mark-ups, and assured me every dealer in town had addendums on their cars. He asked for the opportunity to beat my banks percentage rate. They shotgunned my application out to 5 banks and managed to beat my bank by a whole .05%. Wow, you saved me a dollar a month a put 5 hard inquiries on my credit. I try to leave and they keep sending more and more managers to talk to you. I finally waited until they were going to get yet another manager, and tried to slip away, and they chased me to my car. I wish I was making this up. It was a high pressure, hardball, nightmare. I made a few calls around to other dealers in the area had addendum (mark-ups) on their cars. The manager lied to my face. If you love the run-around, high pressure, shady sales experience, go on in, otherwise, keep driving. read more

worst buying experience of my life. 8 hours to purchase to end up being lied to and having to come back and have the purchase paperwork done over again. then within a month to have the air conditioner go out to take it in and be told that the warranty we purchased was not put in the paperwork correctly so had to have that done again, they took the truck and we called for a week with no return phone calls on the status of our vehicle. finally got a return phone call to tell us that the condensor for the air conditioner is nationally backordered. mind you i am now sitting here with them having my truck for a month. after several more non returned phone calls i finally received a call back to tell me it was received but had a dent in it so they were going to have to reorder the part. i have made two truck payments for my truck to sit in their service dept parking lot to have nothing done and no manager to make anything happen. and to find out by calling other chevy dealers that the part is not nationally backordered and we were lied to has made me furious. read more
