I know good help is hard to find nowdays and some people are not morning people or early risers, BUT when spoken to and you work in customer service you should greet and speak to the patrons you're providing a service for. She didn't speak when I said good morning and looked miserable toe entire time I was there. It made me uncomfortable placing my order because of her nonchalant attitude. Aside from that, the smoothie was very good. It was cold inside the building so that'll be helpful for the heat of the day that's coming later in the afternoon. Awesome little morning juicery to get a quick morning boost on your way to work. Came here several times on my last work trip & will be returning on my next one. The store is inconspicuous & probably would walk right by it if you didn't know it was there. Regardless it's clean, wait staff is friendly & the product is a quality one. Today I decided to walk into this place to check out the Juices as I am new to South End. When I walked in the person behind the counter just looked at me and didn't say a word. I walk over to the register where it says to place your order and I stand there for about 3minutes while she still doesn't say one word to me and makes some other orders. Finally she walks up to the register and just looks at me. She doesn't say "what would you like" or anything. After I placed my order she walked away from the register still not saying a word. That's when a gentleman walked in and she immediately greets him and asks him is he here for a pick up. The only difference between myself and this man is that I'm an African American woman and he was a Caucasian Male. I'm not saying that has anything to do with it but a few seconds later another Caucasian male walks in and she greets him. It doesn't end there. I look up and there's a juice sitting on the counter that looks like it could be mine but I'm not sure if it's a pick up or someone else's juice because she didn't say a word. Typical clean juice location! Conveniently located in south end. Perfect when walking around. They have some parallel parking but parking can be hit or miss. I love their Christian viewpoint with bible quotes on the cups and a spot to submit prayer requests. They have already bottled juices and shots for purchase as well as some apparel. They have a great selection of juices, smoothies and food with lots of add ons available. It is all super healthy and organic! They have a $6 summer menu with a smoothie a juice and some food on it. My aunt really wanted to go here. I will first start by saying this location was very very messy. The workers where not engaging at all. They had headphones in and seemed to careless to be there. I ordered the protein bowl which states it comes with Diced Chicken. They don't even have diced chicken only thin deli slices that seemed old. You can see them make everything and the station was not clean at all. The lettuce was old, the guy got the egg ( no shells on the egg) and walked around with it in his hand looking for a knife, he also got the skin of the avocado even the end piece inside of the bowl, all other ingredients was super low and not appealing. Was out of the dressing. The workers seemed very disconnected and I didn't want to start a back and forth. The entire meal had to go in the trash can immediately. I witnessed her tell a couple of customers that were trying to place an order that she had an attitude because she "had a lot to do" - She definitely shouldn't be working in customer service with that type of attitude toward paying customers. I generally use the Clean Juice app to place my order on a walk through South End and grab it on the way back. I've never had any issues, my order is always ready and prepared just as I requested. I love that they keep it cold for you so if you arrive beyond your pickup time you don't have to worry about your smoothie being completely melted. Ok clean juice, what's happening? I stop by every now and then for a juice or a wrap at this location, and it's hit or miss. I love the sound of almost everything on their menu! The quality of the food and drinks is usually great; you can tell flood quality, fresh ingredients are being used. My last visit however, was definitely a miss. I ordered the garden wrap online, and ordered it as is - without any add-ons or customization. My order was ready even before the listed pick up time, which is always a plus :) when I opened it up though, I laughed. As my pictures show there's a huge difference between the advertised pic of the wrap versus the real life one! I had to open it up to make sure it had all the listen ingredients. A bit of a confession...my gf and I actually came in to Clean Juice because we needed to use the restroom, so we ordered a couple of drinks to gain access. Let me say, while the bathroom was nice, clean, and smelled of flowers, the drinks were also very nice as well! We ordered the following: The wake up one ($9.79) The Detoxifying one ($9.79) My Drink was the wake up one. In the wake up one is orange, lemon and ginger. It's not sweet...at all, but the title is appropriate because it's light, fresh and all the citrus with ginger gives you a nice punch to the taste buds. If you DON'T wake up after it, man i must've been a late night for you! The detoxifying one was not my drink but I did try it. I'm not a fan of beets, either drinking or eating. Beside beet, they also threw in this drink some cucumber, apple, celery and ginger. I was pleasantly surprised that I could taste the apple over all of the other overpowering flavors here. The detoxifying one was actually a bit sweeter than the wakeup one. Not bad! There were a few tables here during my visit and while there is parking around the area of this location, there wasn't a huge amount in the front of the store. We walked here so we didn't check for parking elsewhere. After landing in Charlotte, I had some time to kill. What better way to kill some time than to drink a smoothie and chill for a bit? Not everyone's idea of a great time but it is mine! Clean Juice is a smoothie and juice bar chain with this location being on the South End of Charlotte. Funny enough, they have another location close to my old apartment in Houston. I found free parking on a side street close by. After parking, I walked to Clean Juice and I was impressed with the area. There are coffee shops, restaurants, bars, and shops that are all walkable. The interior was clear and there's a lot to like. They have an app where you accumulate points for purchases. They have acai bowls like pretty much every smoothie and juice bar these days. They have free WiFi. My issue is that they don't have a lot of appealing smoothies for my tastes. I ended up ordering a smoothie off of their summer menu. The one I had featured maple syrup as an ingredient which gets A+ in the creativity department and I'm not even Canadian. While interesting, I didn't like the strong taste of maple syrup in a smoothie. While not the best spot for my smoothie preferences, they do have a lot of healthy options! read more

As someone who likes to eat clean and organic, I find Clean Juice to be completely awful! (Especially the South End Location). They charge the maximum possible prices for mediocre products and bad service. I have paid $10 for a juice and $15 for an acai bowl only to find frozen chunks of fruit on the bottom. I don't have a problem with them using frozen ingredients. What I do have a problem with however, is the frozen ingredients not being blended all the way through and finding big frozen chunks in my smoothie or acai bowl that I paid $15 for. For $15, it should certainly be a minimum requirement for all ingredients to be thoroughly blended. I can make much better and more thoroughly blended smoothies at home for a very small fraction of that cost. The whole place is runned by teenagers that just don't care. Not to mention they want a tip on top of that! They also charge $7.50 for avocado toast with an extremely skimpy portion of avocado! Would not recommend! read more

This is my go to location usually, as the uptown one has horrible parking and way too busy around there. Who doesn't love clean juice?! I am obsessed with their avocado toast, no one ever makes it and seasons it so perfectly as they do here. And that's consistent. Just enjoying a smoothie I made at home this morning and a memory popped up in my brain about an awful experience I had at this Clean Juice that turned me from a loyal customer since the Birkdale location began to someone who has refused to go to clean juice for the past 2 years. 1. This place is DIRTY. Like probably the dirtiest food establishment I've ever seen. And I've seen some things. 2. I ordered a smoothie and a sandwich. After waiting for my smoothie for quite literally 30 mins, they forgot my sandwich WHICH HAD A HAIR IN IT?! once they finally managed to make it. 3. And this is the most gear grinding part.... I ordered a small smoothie and paid EXTRA for 2 scoops of protein. Something like $5 extra. After ordering and paying $29, they let me know that they had run out of small cups and would need to put it in a large cup. I literally watched them make my smoothie (enough to fill a large cup), fill said large cup up half way (because I ordered a small) and then proceed to throw the rest of the smoothie down the sink??? Along with my $5 of protein powder?? How wild is that? I will literally never go back to a clean juice. Nestled in a cozy little store front across the street from the South End light rail stop, one block over from Charlotte institution, Price's Chicken Coop, walking distance from any number of complexes full of health-minded yuppies, CJSE promises to be a mainstay for the joggers, power walkers, and post-work gym goers the South End attracts in droves. The new location in South End is already catching on. Out front were a group of young fun looking healthy people playing a young fun looking healthy game of cornhole (with CJ branded bean bags and cornhole... boards? I'm not sure what you call the things with the hole). I entered to a pleasantly sparse crowd for a Sunday (I went after the morning and brunch rush), the crowd didn't accumulate until after I placed my order. The decor is simple and modern. I like the interplay between the franchise's silver gray industrial color scheme, and farm to table fare. In this way, Clean Juice feels like a completely different experience from the more brightly colored Jamba or Smoothie Kings of the market. J and SK are fun respites from the usual fast casual experience. CJ, on the other hand is serious business. This ain't just juice, this is the fuel for your healthy lifestyle. This is your new morning habit. This is your coffee now. You're a Clean Juice organic ninja. Wheatgrass isn't a new menu gimmick like at Jamba. Wheatgrass is a way of life at CJ. The Nutty Açaí bowl was terrible. It was watery with ice chunks in it. I literally had to drink it from the bowl because the spoon couldn't hold it. Açaí bowls should be smooth and creamy not watery. It was also lacking in toppings. There was about a tablespoon of granola, 1/4 banana, and one giant strawberry on top. The strawberry was not cut all the way through so it was just one big berry that needed a knife to separate. Nektar and the Spoons truck are way better in my opinion. I came here the other day for the first time. I got the So Basic smoothie (Almond Butter, Almond Milk, Banana, Maple Syrup, Strawberries). It was really good and creamy. They had a variety of juices, spinach smoothies and fruit bowls, but I decided to stay basic on my first trip here. I also noticed that they have a "Summer Menu", which I'm hoping changes to a pumpkin smoothie for Fall!! Noms. Fingers crossed. The prices are a little high - my 16oz was about $7, but that's really the norm for these kind of fresh juice/organic places. This was such a great addition to the Southend neighborhood. Just feet away from a paint n sip, the light rail train that goes uptown, and restaurants like Blaze pizza and Price's chicken coop. The place is in a super walkable area. Although small it is the perfect size for a juice bar. The ambience is clean, fresh, with clean lines and organic touches like wooden panels on the wall. My favorite part of my experience was the prayer request jar! It is so cute and in a place for bodily health I loved the touch of spiritual wellness!
