It can be hard to find healthy food that tastes good. This is probably one of the reasons that acai bowls are so popular. I don't usually consider them for meals but every now and then when I am craving something sweet they hit the spot! Vitality Bowls is a chain originating out west that now has a home in Southend Charlotte at the Railyard development. Since my office is nearby, some coworkers and I decided to order ahead and walk over to enjoy our bowls. In addition to açaí bowls they offer sandwiches, wraps, smoothies, and other types of bowl/salads. The server was friendly and our food was ready and packaged to go when we arrived. I decided to go with the Nutty Bowl. No I admit I am somewhat of a novice when it comes to açaí bowls, but in the past when I get them, they usually come with a lot of toppings and drizzle that not only adds to the flavors and presentation, but makes the bowl more filling and dense. The bowl I received was perfectly tasty, it just felt a little bit underwhelming and underdone. It was light on the toppings and seemed like it was tossed together quickly. Now the simple explanation could be that since we made a larger order ahead of time the person making them may have been under pressure to finish each one faster before moving on to the next. I certainly want to go back by myself and order in the store to see how the bowl compares. I really did enjoy the blend they used for the base of the bowl and I can tell it was made using fresh ingredients. For what it's worth my coworkers all enjoyed their sandwiches as well. Saw a BOGO bowl deal on DoorDash, so decided to try VB for a healthy dessert. They have several base options, and you can choose two for a small bowl. I went with açaí and chia pudding. I love that they have actual chia pudding, not just chia seeds. My partner chose guava and açaí. I tried the guava, and it was really good. I'll have to get that as a base with my chia pudding next time. Then you get three toppings. They have a variety of fruit, nuts, spreads, and other toppings to choose from. This is in my opinion the BEST açaí bowl I've had in Charlotte. I've tried spoons, and other places but this one is my favorite! I've ordered from this place a few times before and always order pick-up so I have no comments about my experience eating inside the place. I typically get the Dessert Bowl with a few modifications and my order always gets received correctly and tastes exactly how I like my açaí bowls to taste. Vitality bowls has fresh wraps, healthy snacks, and really yummy smoothie bowls. There is a comfortable sized seating area and it's not really crowded so the wait times for the smoothies have been reasonable when I visited. You can make so many customizations to your smoothie or bowl to fit your lifestyle which is so helpful. The service is ok staff could be more attentive and careful with the use of gloves but the smoothie bowls and smoothies are delicious. Avocado toast was good, but nothing to write home about - just a basic slice of wheat toast with smashed avocado. I did like the addition of seeds and feta. Açaí bowl was good - a good size and lots of yummy toppings. This was my first visit to Vitality Bowls, and I ordered the Chimichurri Steak Wrap and the Green Glow Bowl. The food was absolutely delicious and prepared to perfection. Despite feeling under the weather with limited taste and smell, the flavors still came through beautifully. The superfoods definitely live up to their name, as they left me feeling much better. Everything was incredibly fresh and satisfying. I'll definitely be coming back! My only complaint, and the reason for 4 stars instead of 5, is the frustrating ordering process. They require almost all of your personal information--short of your social security number--just to place a to-go order. Creating an account felt unnecessary and made the process much longer than it should have been. I almost gave up, but I'm glad I stuck with it because the food was exactly what I needed. My smoothie wasn't consistent with the other times I went, asked for it to be remade, was denied along with the refund. They gave me a card with the manager's number, and it took 3 days of me nonstop calling to get ahold of them for my refund. After getting in contact, still did not get a refund, my only option is to come and get another smoothie. I wouldn't go here ever again. If you like good smoothies, go up the street to Jamba Juice. The negligence was disgusting and the manager also spoke to me very rudely and showed obvious irritation while speaking to me. Spend your money with a business that's going to take care of you, and not argue with you. If I'm paying 16$ for a smoothie, you want it right. Save the hassle and go elsewhere. read more

Great place for healthy grain bowls and panini sandwiches. The restaurant was very clean and wasn't crowded. Disappointing first experience. I was excited for a smoothie bowl after an intense workout and well, this took the air out of my sail a bit. I went with a friend and ordered the Dragon Bowl, a Dragon smoothie, and a Whey Green smoothie. The Whey Green Smoothie came out grey which was odd, and probably no surprise that it was inedible - my friend said it was disgusting, which another reviewer said as well. The other issue is, our order took 30 mins to come out, but there were only 2 other orders ahead of us. I took my bowl and smoothie home to my littles and they weren't very cold when I left the store, but by the time I got home (11 min ride) both were liquid. The kids liked the flavor of the dragon smoothie, so if we could just get a thicker, colder, smoothie consistency, we'd be golden. My smoothie brown has been in the freezer for an hour and it's still a juice consistency. So for $25, would've really appreciated a better quality product. This place has potential but I'll be honest, I'd probably try a more established smoothie spot before trying my luck here again. read more

I get it's busy during certain times but that's extremely unsanitary. Pretty sure that's a health food safety violation. The food comes out cold/undercooked because whoever is over this store hasn't hired enough people to fulfill orders during rush hours. The workers aren't bad could be friendlier but I can see why they aren't. They're probably underpaid and clearly overworked. I don't blame them I blame the manager. Hire a new one. read more

Bomb. Tried them for the first time this morning and I was very pleased. The service is good, the employees are nice and helpful, and the smoothies taste delish. The smoothies could have been a bit thicker, but I still enjoyed mine. I love that they use different fruits than other places, educate you in the ingredients, and don't nickel and dime for more superfood smoothies. I will def try their acai bowls My next visit out. Terrible! They forgot about my panini sandwich when it was in the hot press. I watched as both the workers sat in chairs in the kitchen on their phones because there's an open window view into the kitchen. It's sat in there way too long, and I was trying to get their attention. Then one of the workers remember there was a sandwich and opened it up, talked to the coworker to say it's burned/overcooked. The coworker said something back to her, and she proceeded to touch it with her bare fingers after she had been touching her phone. You could tell he said just pack it up. So she packed it up and served it to me. They did not realize I was watching the entire time. They came out with the bag and I said absolutely not, you overcooked it and I saw you touch it with your fingers. They didn't even try to argue with me because they realized I knew. I've only had the chimichurri steak and potato bowl but wow does it pack a punch of flavor! Surprisingly filling too. I ordered extra lemon tahini vinaigrette for the lettuce on my second visit... perfection! Definitely looking forward to trying other menu items. read more
