I really appreciate Clean Roofing and their team help repair my clay tile roof. I recently purchased the home and the sellers made quick repairs (and very sloppy) to sell the house quickly. Of all roofers I had contacted and met with (a total of 3), Micah from Clean Roofing was the only one that actually walked on the roof and assess what repairs were needed. While one roofer tried to upsell me on a brand new roof and didn't even bother letting me know what my repairs options were. The other one just peeked up from a ladder and recommended repairs, I didn't feel confident they had my best interest. Micah listened to my needs and worked within my budget constraints for the repairs so that I had a solid leak proof roof for years to come. The scheduler Monica was very nice and responsive. We had Clean Roofing install a roof on our house in September 2020. It was a complex job because of the solar panels on our roof, so we wanted someone with experience working with solar systems. This is all during Covid so we did our initial consults over video. Everyone from Clean Roofing was always masked and they did a good job of keeping distance. Manolo and Braulio were here reliably every day on the project and did an amazing job putting our roof together. The results are gorgeous. Our one minor quibble is that the sales folks (Micah and Mark) spent a lot of time bragging about their amazing process of scouring the area around the house with magnets to pick up all the nails. I'm still finding nails weeks later. The nails themselves aren't a problem. Roofing is messy, and it's tough to clean up well. I just wish they wouldn't hit it so hard in their sales pitch. I was rolling my eyes and internally saying "yeah, right" even as they were saying it. read more

I want to give a shout out and 5 stars to Clean Roofing for taking care of me during the January rain storms. My roof developed a small leak over the porch and they came out within two days despite the weather and the number of calls they were getting. Rodrigo and his assistant had a tough time finding the source of the leak because of our solar panels, but stayed with it trying different approaches until they finally solved it. They were an excellent team. Clean Roofing followed up afterward to make sure the leak had stopped. Great people and super service. read more

Ok, waited for the first rain of the season to write the review. Our new roof passed the test - no leaks! We purchased the house with low-slope roof. It had foam which would not survive winter. Micah suggested TPO which worked out great. The quoted price was good and he charged very reasonably for fixing the small amount of dry rot found after the old roof was removed. He also worked with solar company to install posts required for panels. His crew did excellent job cleaning up after everything was done. Our house is going through major remodel and so far Clean Roofing was the only contractor who did not delay the work and had no budget overruns. There was a miscalculation in the number of downspouts we needed - but Micah owned it - and took care of the additional ones. If I need a new roof, I will definitely go back to Clean Roofing. Problem for Micah though: it will probably not happen soon :-) read more

Our roof is complicated -- several different angles, steep pitches, multiple valleys, part of the house is 1-story and part of it is 2-story. Clean Roofing gave us a competitive quote and were flexible with us in scheduling the job. Tear-off on day one was a war zone, but not unexpected. Early day two they had a full crew on site and they kept at it until the job was done. The expected extras for damaged wood under the eaves/gutters were minimal and I only got charged for additional work that I could clearly see needed to happen. (This contingency is built into the contract and was clearly pointed out to me.) They also had to do a lot of stucco removal for flashing replacement, which they could have pretended didn't need to happen. But they got it all in and patched and painted the stucco nicely. That was all in the original bid, so no extra charge. One problematic (leaky) area where a steep pitch meets a 2nd-floor wall was given special attention and they installed a fix that really seems long-term. Again, this is an area that is out of sight, so they could have taken the easy route and ignored it. The additional cost for that was minimal. Overall, the crew worked really hard and there were no down days. Unsurprisingly, the job took longer than expected. But that's because they weren't cutting any corners. Finally, the finished roof and gutters look great. Just in time for this week's rains. Everything is tight and dry. Also, the roof passed S.J. city inspection with no problems. Francisco, the site foreman, was really great to work with, clearly hands on and determined to do the best work possible. Miguel, our rep, was always available and kept me well-informed throughout the duration of the job. We'll be happy to use them again in 50 years, when this roof wears out. read more

I can't say enough good things about the Clean Roofing work crews, the management, or the office support team. The work they did was excellent, they documented any problems, they communicated schedules, and, while encountering unexpected difficulties, they worked through them all and finished in a reasonable time and at a very reasonable cost as well, well below several national company estimates. In addition, everyone I spoke with was courteous and helpful, explaining every step. At no time did I question their ethics or work commitment, nor was I surprised by extra costs due to difficulties encountered. We had a great experience with Clean Roofing. We had some initial scheduling issues because we needed our solar panels removed, and that took a while to schedule and reschedule - but Micah and his crew were very accommodating. I had several other quotes, but this was by far the best both pricewise and workmanship wise. We needed some additional attention to our gutters (one to fill up our garden water storage tank, one to work around our car charger), and they did a nice job with both areas. Of course there was a bit of debris to clean up after they had cleaned some 99%, but that is to be expected on a construction site (no sour neighbors, as they had their roof done by Clean Roofing the year before). Stay as far away from this company as possible! They Installed a shoddy roof on my gym which leaked and got behind the cedar siding causing it to warp and crack. Ponding water was standing on the roof for days or weeks at a time which is against code. They also never got the proper permit for the job. When confronted about the leak they argued for weeks saying nothing was wrong! Finally they admitted to screwing up but still expected $9k and by that time the damage was done. Horrible horrible company that will cost you tons of money from all their screw ups. read more

Clean Roofing was absolutely amazing! A 60' tree fell on our roof a year ago, and our insurance company was trying to find a way around replacing he entire roof. Clean Roofing came in and convinced them that the entire roof had been compromised and would continue to leak, necessitating replacement. Then they started on our house. The team comprised of Eleazar, David, Juan and Julio were wonderful. Polite, cheerful and mindful of our privacy, they worked diligently for 2 weeks (our roof is multi-level and very difficult). This wonderful team cleaned up every night prior to finishing for the day, leaving us so grateful for the work (even during shelter in place!). My neighbor was able to watch them from his second story window and after 3 roofs himself was somewhat of an expert. He reported that the work this team did was fantastic. I got a roof from Clean Roofing and solar panels from Clean Solar. This review is specific to my experiences with the roofing. Overall I think they delivered a good product at a good price, but the actual process of getting the roof installed was very stressful. Good: + I've only had the roof for ~6 weeks at this point, but we've already had a lot of rain and the new roof didn't leak. I'm not qualified to evaluate the quality of the work beyond that, so I'm assuming they did a great job and that the roof will last at least 15 years without problems (the length of the warranty). + Their pricing was the best I found. + Communication with their sales people, project managers, etc was quick and cordial. + Their workers were friendly, polite, and left the work site clean after the job was done. Bad: - The biggest issue was that they severely inconvenienced my neighbors and made them very angry at me. In particular, on the first day of work, while they removed the old roof, pieces of it ended up flying through my neighbors' open windows into their house. They should have notified the neighbors and asked them to close their windows. And I don't know if this is feasible, but ideally they would have done the work in a way that material did not go flying off the roof. - A truck (either delivering material or hauling debris) damaged a tree in front of my house, and left a large branch damaged and dangling dangerously over the sidewalk. This was a minor emergency we had to scramble to deal with. - I was originally told nobody had to be home to supervise or help with anything, but after these two issues on the first day, I decided someone needed to be home to supervise, so I had to work from home for a week, with extremely loud banging going on overhead. - At the last minute (less than 24 hours notice) they asked me to reserve a parking spot in front of the house for a delivery vehicle. This is something they could have reserved through the city if they'd done it ahead of time, but instead I had to scramble to find a way to occupy the parking spot myself. - The roofers plugged their power tools into an exterior outlet that couldn't provide as much current as they needed, so it kept tripping the circuit breakers. Luckily I was working from home and could help reset the circuit breakers and eventually found a better solution. - They originally said they'd start Monday and finish on Friday (5 days), but it took 7 days of work. Not a huge deal by itself, but I was bothered that they kept insisting they'd be done sooner than they were. For example, on Monday it seemed like they'd gotten a really late start, so on Monday night I asked if they were still going to finish by Friday, and they said yes. On Friday they said they were going to finish on Saturday. And then on Saturday they said they would take Sunday off and finish on Monday (which they did). - Sunday happened to be very windy, and the not-yet-installed roofing materials were flying off of the roof. We had to go up there and secure things ourselves. read more

Connected to Clean Roofing via Clean Solar, who did our solar installation several years ago (also gave Clean Solar a 5 star review). We discovered a roof leak this winter while we were having our AC system replaced in the attic. Micah came out for an inspection and immediately found one problem with the flashing on one of our vents. He was able to do a temporary patch until they could schedule in our repair. His crew just finished this week, they found several other issues with our roof that may have been present from when the house was originally constructed 20 years ago. Fortunately, we had minimal dry rot, so most of the repairs was limited to removal and replacement of the tile, and reinstallation of the felt barrier paper. I can not provide a higher recommendation to this company for their professionalism and quality of their work. I suspect you may find other companies who may quote a lower price, or try to sell you up for something you may not need. When I asked Micah if we should redo the entire roof, he recommended against that, given the age of our roof and associated cost. read more
