She informed me that my therapist, Emily, and my husband's therapist, Kimberly, no longer want to service us because we did not leave a tip at our last appointment. At that visit, we simply did not have cash with us. We have been loyal clients at Massage Envy Copper City for the past 4-5 years. My husband has seen Kimberly the entire time and has always tipped her after every session. It is shocking that after years of consistent support, both therapists refuse to see us over a single instance where we were unable to tip. The manager told us we could switch to other therapists and stated that the therapists "work for tips." This is confusing, because we pay a monthly membership fee for 60‑minute sessions, regularly add an extra 30 minutes, and purchase add‑ons like lavender oil. Tipping is appreciated, but it is not a requirement of the membership agreement. I asked the manager a simple question: if we choose not to tip any therapist in the future, would we then be refused service entirely? The situation makes no sense, and I am shocked and disappointed to be treated this way after years of loyalty. My husband has even purchased Massage Envy gift cards for his workplace. I hope the owners will contact me, because this experience has been extremely upsetting and unprofessional.
