I have had a lot of bodywork done over the years, but Eric is one of the best therapists that you can have for general aches and pains, targeted injuries, acute issues, or just giving you a general "look over" and identifying what is causing the stress and tightness throughout your body. While Zen Zone is not your lavish, over-the-top kind of spa or massage therapy provider, the space is clean and well kept. I would put it on par with the majority of the providers I have been to over the years and given the difficulty (and cost) of space in Boston, Zen has plenty of space dedicated to the services they provide. The price is actually pretty good ($200 for a 90m massage) for the services and what you get for that is BEYOND a value. Like I said, over the past 10+ years I've had just about every type of bodywork imaginable done (active release, grafting, dry needling, all different kinds of massages, TENS therapy, etc). I was always looking for ways to recover as an amateur competitor in CrossFit and that just causes the need to treat your body as good as you can so you can keep training and pushing. Now, with that out of the way let's get into my experience with Eric. This unicorn is well-versed in MANY different practices, but will tailor the services to your level of need and want in focus areas and pressure to be applied. I will say that my experience was not super relaxing, but that was what I wanted. We did active release, stretching, and deep tissue massage. These are NOT relaxing services to request, but what I wanted/needed at the time of my appointment. Not only did he meet all of these requests with fervor, but showed me a few other tricks I had not experienced personally. The one that sticks out in my mind is his attention to my head/neck/jaw after I told him of my cancer diagnosis. He did a full assessment of my body and decided to focus first on my head/neck/jaw with cold stone therapy and actually getting IN my mouth to release the tension in my jaw. Not something I would have thought of, but once he was done the difference was palpable and I was beyond thankful he spent this kind of attention on a place that instantly melted the tension and clenching away. I can't say enough good things about my experience from scheduling to paying (they even have the providers' Venmo displayed for tipping!!!). It was quite a first impression they left on me and I will definitely be back when I need this kind of intensive therapy or body work in the future. Highly recommended - 10/10, A+++ read more

Got my first facial here a couple years ago, without knowing what to expect. Only now after other facials, I realized how little they did for me here. They put the stuff on my face and left the room for loooong time. Then didn't extract my pores, saying they were too small, whereas my current place said they had not issues doing extractions. The facialist knew it was my first facial then and I feel she took advantage of the fact. Afterwards, she charged my card and turns out I couldn't leave a tip after she charged it. I've been using products that I thought were good, but since they were working very well I just thought that something was wrong with my skin. Until I came to Irina and she suggested the right products that are best suitable for my skin type. The best massage I have had in long time! I called at the last minute and Yelena was able to give me an appointment at a convenient time. I had pulled a muscle in my back and was in a lot of pain. Eric took the time to listen to me and address the painful situation I was in before he started healing me. I walked out an hour later feeling relaxed and pain free. I came here for a deep pore facial, which is supposed to be good for acne. But it didn't do anything, just made my breakout worse!! Came here because it seemed a little higher end and I really wanted it to work as I was going on vacation a few days after, and was hoping for better skin. The facial was very painful and uncomfortable - I have not had one before. The enzymes she put on my face hurt a LOT. I was almost crying and I have a high pain tolerance. But more importantly it didn't do anything - I broke out like crazy two days later and have been getting new pimples every day for the last two weeks since I went. DEFINITELY NOT worth the $120 it cost. Also, the woman who did mine was professional and attentive, but kept basically telling me I haven't been taking care of my skin by getting regular facials (who regularly has $120 to blow!??!) , and trying to sell me all these super expensive products they have... And weirdly didn't seem at all familiar with either the commonly prescribed acne drug I was on, or the brand name moisturizer I used. Overall, not great experience, didn't do anything for my face, maybe made it worse, and very very expensive. UPDATE: So after I posted this review, the owner contacted me and offered me another service for free, saying she wants all of her customers to be satisfied. I wasn't able to go and take advantage of it because I am in grad school and very busy! She did NOT offer me a refund immediately, as she says in her comment. When I did contact her after she posted this comment, she agreed to refund me my money for the original service. I felt that this was appropriate, considering that I wasn't happy with the service. So with that in mind, I will update this review from 2 to 3 stars. I still probably wouldn't go back because I didn't really care for the woman who did my facial (see original review above), but that might just be me and ultimately I was pleased with their customer service. read more

I had a wonderful experience at Zen Zone Spa and would definitely recommend it to other people! I was referred to Zen Zone by a friend of mine for a deep tissue massage. I have been having a chronic back pain for the past two years and I have tried quite a few places but the results were not that effective. I have only had my first massage session with Eric and I already feel such a significant improvement! Eric is very professional, knowledgeable and uses different techniques to relieve the pressure and muscle pain. I purchased a groupon for this location for an extended bikini line as my first laser hair removal experience, and was very nervous doing so. I am SO, SO glad that I did.. and that I found Zen Zone. The staff are all beyond friendly and accommodating, and very professional. Nothing awkward about my bikini line at all, and I've seen amazing results already after 4 sessions. I don't think I could be any happier. I'll probably end up getting my toes done there as well, even though I live on the south shore now. Worth the drive, if you ask me. read more

I just received the best massage ever. Eric is so awesome! I came in with so much pain from overuse of the computer mouse, post gym workout soreness and a chronic forearm problem.
