He's a little socially awkward and perhaps at his best in the exam room. He could be great with eyeballs for all I know, but friendliness/customer service is a big issue for me. I have been to a few different optometry places, getting glasses that never did much for me. After a few dizzy days I decided to find a new place to get an eye exam and new glasses. I came across Clear Sight Optometry and the reviews were amazing! So I gave them a call thinking I could get in later in the week. To my surprise I was able to get an appointment the same day! The receptionist was so dang sweet! Dr. Kim was very kind and really listened to me when I explained what was going on. There was no wait and the eye exam was quick and easy. Dr. Kim brought me to the window to show me what I will be able to see with my new glasses, and I could actually see the leaves on the trees! It was amazing. Today was my 6 yo daughter's first eye exam. She was nervous about the experience and what to expect, but all the nerves went away as soon as Dr. Love started the appointment. He explained what he was going to do every step of the way and tailored many of the tests to be kid friendly. I called in for an exam and Dr. Kim himself answered the phone. He offered me a same-day appointment, but I couldn't go in that day so he got me in the next day. When I got there he was sitting at the front desk waiting to greet me. I did about 5 minutes worth of paperwork and then he took me right in for the evaluation. Clear Sight Optometry has without a doubt been the best optometrist experience that I have ever had. I have worn glasses/contacts for the last 20 years and before coming here, had only been with one optometrist office my entire life. With my past optometrist experience, I had become accustomed to spending literally hours in the office.. despite having an appointment. It wasn't uncommon to spend 45min-1hr in the waiting room alone, and then well over an hour to get through the various exams with various staff members. I am new to Temecula and as a result sought out a new optometrist. I was actually really nervous to go somewhere new, but was so blown away that I would never dream of going back to my previous optometrist. This place is wonderful. Peggy made it very easy for me (first time VSP user) to get new glasses. The ones I got had to be ordered since they didn't have it, but Peggy kept me updated. Dr. Kim was also excellent at providing me the glasses I really want. He even re-tested my vision to make sure it was perfect. I won a free eye exam on social media and I was hesitant about coming in. As soon as I walked in they were so kind! The receptionist was so sweet and so was Peggy! Dr Kim was very helpful, thorough and they were very understanding that I had to bring my toddlers. After the exam, talking me through everything and even noticing the small things (like my eye slightly irritated and enlightening me on how to handle it) , I got new contacts and even got to look at some glasses. But since I've hit my mid-forties, I recently found myself struggling to read fine print and had trouble focusing on things up close. Reluctantly, I realized my vision wasn't what it used to be and I probably needed reading glasses. I wanted my first experience with an optometrist to be a good one, so I did a lot of research. Based on reviews and recommendations, I chose Clear Sight Optometry, even though it's quite a distance from my home, and I couldn't be more happy with my choice. The staff is super friendly and cheerful and made me feel right at home. The office is roomy and looks brand new. Dr. Kim saw me right away and took the time to explain every step of my eye exam. I was extremely impressed with his professionalism. As impressive was his array of state-of-the-art equipment that helped him make a precise, efficient, and accurate diagnosis of my vision. I anticipated I needed help with seeing things up close, but I was surprised to discover that Dr. Kim was also able to correct my mid-range vision as well. I never realized my mid-range vision was even compromised in the first place, I just got used to seeing things a certain way and I thought it was good enough. I am shocked at how crystal clear and focused everything looks now. In addition to accurately correcting my vision, Dr. Kim's office has an amazing selection of stylish eyeglass frames. Since it was going to be my first pair of eyeglasses, it took me a while to choose. Optometrist couldn't help me because they had to leave early!! Seems like optometrists in this area are lazy and can't finish out a shift on a Friday! The optometrist responded and said she was out of town if she was out of town why would the receptionist claim otherwise? I was not told anyone was out of town I was told that the optometrist wanted to leave early this day. If you're gonna have appointments available then the business should be prepared to handle the needs of that appointment. read more

I really wanted to love this place based on the reviews. I went for an eye exam about a month ago and while the staff was nice and doctor was nice I felt like all he was trying to do is sell glasses. I decided to give him another chance and bring my 3 year old in because he needed to be seen. He wasn't extremely friendly with my son and actually seemed annoyed with his energy. During the exam he didn't ask my son any questions but came to the conclusion that he needed glasses for astigmatism. Once again showing us the glasses area trying to get us to purchase glasses. I did not have a good feeling when i left and decided to schedule a visit at another location and I am so glad I did. This other doctor said he absolutely did not need glasses at this point and just to monitor every year. Had I not gone, I would have put my 3 year old in glasses for no reason, potentially causing his eyes to not develop on their own. Sadly I won't be returning to this office and I am upset I used my one insurance visit per year on it. read more

Dr. Kim is awesome, not because we have the same last name, but because he's the real deal! My wife had nothing but great things to say about her experience. He also re-examined my son (at no cost!) since we were getting his frames there. Turns out, the prescription he received several weeks ago was a bit off. Also, Peggy is great! When my wife couldn't find the frames similar to the ones that she loved elsewhere, Peggy gave us the option to fill the lens prescription through them so that the quality of the work matches Dr. Kim's high standards. After doing some calculations, it turns out this will end up saving us money! Other optometrists wouldn't even fill the lens prescription unless we bought the frames from them as well. I'm not from around here and I forgot my contacts for my weekend vacation. This morning I called and spoke to Dr Kim. He told me he would be able to help me get a pair of contacts as long as he had a prescription from my regular optometrist. I called my optometrist and had them fax my prescription to Dr Kim. I am soooo thankful Dr Kim helped me get contacts. My eyes are light blue so they are sooo sensitive to the light. Both Angela and Peggy answered all my questions thoroughly and greeted me with a smile when I walked into the office. Dr. Kim takes the time to get to know his patients from the start of the appointment and all the way through to the end. His friendly demeanor and cheerful personality makes asking questions an easy thing to do. All of my questions/concerns were answered in a way that was easy for me to understand. As someone who enjoys learning new things, I also appreciated his explanation of all the tests and check ups he did on me. Overall, I felt very comfortable and respected at this business. Some businesses tend to be aggressive/pushy with their marketing. Not Clear Sight. Like any proper business, they give you recommendations however they respect the patient's decision. They have reasonable pricing options and a vast array of beautiful frames to choose from. Parking is ample and the office is spacious. When I first came into Clear Sight Optometry I was very excited as it's in a great shopping center and close to some of my favorite stores. Dr. Kim gave me all my check-in paperwork, I recognized him from his Yelp page, but he didn't formally introduce himself, just asked that I filled out the paperwork and gave him my insurance card. He disappeared in the back and left my insurance on the counter without saying anything. I finished checking in with Megan who was very nice and did the initial tests. Dr. Kim did my eye exam, but didn't tell me anything about whether my vision was worsening, or if the results from the tests were positive or negative. I just told him my eyes get dry sometimes, and he took that information and tried selling me more expensive specialty contact lenses. I really wanted to see a doctor to make sure my eyes were healthy as I had scarring in the back of my eye and he didn't even mention anything except for that I needed to come back in a week after trying out the new contacts. I had to ask him what my prescription was because all he was talking about was buying contacts from him during the entire exam. He mentioned that my current lenses, Aquacomfort Dailies, were subpar to the specialty lenses which are $100 a box as opposed to my usual $60. I kept feeling like he was trying to sell me. When I asked how much it would be to order them through him, I was first upfront by saying "I normally order online and use the prescription you give me because I've gotten a better price." And he continues to scoff, "Well we'll definitely beat their prices because we have rebates." Peggy, his other associate, was trying to say it would cost $490 out of pocket and I could hear him in the back asking her, "Are you sure about this price?" Making me feel even more unconfident in their establishment. I told him it usually comes down to price for me, so I didn't want to leave without knowing the cost comparison, so I can make an informed decision, try out the contact samples he gave me and decide whether to come back or order online. He then said, "Well can I have those samples back then?" with an attitude, grabbing at my hands. He then asked, "How are you going to get a rebate when you buy online?" I've never had an issue with an optometry's front desk giving me the rebate as a patient of theirs! Instead, he tried to use it as a selling tactic to force me to make a decision with him. I started crying because he made me feel like I was wasting his time or not worth his time, which is unfair considering I paid a $60 lense fitting and he billed my Kaiser and UNH insurance (which he said it took a long time to figure out the cost of the contacts because of my insurance, and I said "Why is it bad?", and he said "honestly, yes"). He then tried to talk nicer as he could realize I was upset, and finally gave me my prescription receipt. I am a 22 year old female, and from the outside it could appear like you could pressure and take advantage of me. I felt like he was trying to intimidate me, thinking I would trust what he was doing even if it wasn't in my best financial interest. I've never had the doctor also be the check-in person, the billing person and the ordering person. Maybe he's a little overstretched. I understand he has a family and makes money off of the products he sells, but I'm 21 weeks pregnant and $500 for upgrading my contacts requires a lot of contemplation as I'm starting my new family. Instead of empathizing with my concerns, he made me feel minimized for having them. The biggest suggestion I can make is to just do your job, be the doctor, be thorough in your examination, ask me if I'm wearing proper eye wear, how often I wear contacts or glasses... not if I'm willing to spend more for better contacts. Let the other people do their jobs. It's hard to trust a doctor who's acting as the salesperson. I basically feel like I had just dealt with a used car salesman who when I had questions would say sarcastic, passive aggressive comments like "Well since you don't care about your eyes being dry then does it matter?" Of course I care about my eyes being dry or I wouldn't have mentioned it but I have to weigh out the pros and cons of spending more! I felt very bullied when I had questions that didn't flow into his sales pitch. I choose the places I go to based off of reviews and so I'm so surprised that he has so many great reviews this is the only reason that I'm writing something; I normally never take the time to do this but I felt very mistreated and disrespected despite how very polite and patient I felt I was being. If you care about honesty, transparency, your health and pricing... I wouldn't come here. Unless you're okay with being directed without getting to ask questions and less being belittled then just go somewhere that has an office with professional staffing. read more

After struggling to find an optometrist I can rely on, I am SOO glad to have found Dr. Kim and his more than accommodating and doting staff. I've worn glasses ever since I can remember, and contacts since I was 13, and always had eye problems growing up. I have dealt with too many optometrists in my life, and I have to say that Dr. Kim is one of the best! The office is very modern, clean and has updated state of the art technology and testing you can rely on. His patients are definitely his priority and he truly makes sure you are comfortable and answers all your questions without making you feel rushed. Most doctors don't go as far as he does by scheduling a follow up the same week to make sure my contacts are adjusting well. I am so relieved to have found an optometrist I can feel myself with and trust since moving to Temecula and currently 9 months pregnant. I had just got to my last pair of contacts and was looking for a a new Optometrist because i was new to the area. I was not quite due for an eye exam yet but brought in my up to date prescription for contacts and also my insurance info. Dr. Kim greeted me and he was SO NICE! I feel as though most optometrists just mundanely do the exam and then just out of there. After Dr. Kim verified my prescription, they were able to ship my contacts to me within the week! It was like a breeze, usually it takes forever for my contacts to arrive so I was very happy that I didn't have the usual wait. This is my first time here, but I must say that I am rather impressed. Prior to my appointment here I've been seeing my former optometrist for many years. So this was a big change. Dr Kim is very nice and his staff is incredibly helpful. The office is absolutely spotless, with new equipment that appears to be the most modern and up-to-date available. He was able to fit me with contacts that have so far improved my vision. I will post a follow up review after next week's check up appointment. The office is easy to locate in one of the busiest shopping centers in Temecula so it's convenient if you want to go to Target or go shopping at Vons.
