Updating my review! My five year old and I no longer live in the immediate area, but happened to be in town and decided to stop in. Once again the food was phenomenal. I seriously have to brag on the waitress, "Emily". She was beyond attentive, knowledgeable of the menu, and extremely personable. I overheard two other employees talking about how she was the only waitress running at the time (it was a slower time of the day, between lunch and dinner.) You would have never known that, based off her performance. I also heard her chatting with her coworkers, the busboy, etc - she truly did seem like a great employee for the establishment. Clear Springs for lunch today . There was plenty of parking and walked right in and was seated . The waiter did a good job and got our drinks out quickly. Started out with a fresh green salad, then what for lunch ? I decided on the shrimp brochettes, with chicken Gumbo , slaw ,French fries and a couple of hush puppies. My sister and I had several choices when it came to food as it was our first time visiting Tyler. One of the local dealer from the show suggested that my sister and I ate at restaurants on 69/Broadway as she told us that the whole strip was dumped with great tasty restaurants. We didn't hesitate to agree with her, so we yelp searched our choices and narrowed down our search to fresh catfish and seafood. The very nice thing about this place was that we arrived at 9:37 pm, hint here they close at 10 pm. I was pretty skeptical as I walked in to hear the hostess tell us that we came too late and that they were closing their doors. Although, I was wrong! When we walked in, the hostess asked for our party number and she asked if we'd like to sit in a booth or regular seating. I said no to the booths thinking she was going to seat us in the wooden booths, but my sister insisted that we sit in the booths. There she was walking us to our booths that was padded with cushion..whew thank you! As we sat down trying to figure out what we wanted to eat. A nice lady named Tiara (our waitress) came to ask us what we wanted to drink. I simply said sweet tea because we live in the south and that we were in a country town. My sister ordered a soda. As time went by, we both ordered. I got the Little Buddy and my sister got the Fried Catfish because that was what they are known for. As we waited patiently for our food, we of course talked about the theme of the restaurant and snapped pictures for Yelp. The food then came out and we began to munch on our meal. I tell you what--the catfish was so delicious I was praying in my head that they would bring this restaurant to Houston. It wasn't greasy nor was it chewy like it was bad. It was so good it tasted like it was from the ocean..it bet the chefs had already added a dash of lemon juice on it to bring out the flavor. The fries weren't greasy nor were they too salty. They were just right and those pinto beans wow, they tasted kinda like mines, but better. All of the seasonings sitting in that bowl was over whelming good. I could actually see the spices in the bowl of beans. That is always a good indicator in my book. The hash puppies were tasty--to me it tasted like they added a little of jalapeno pepper in it for more flavor. I did experience a kick it the puppies. Now, the only thing that I didn't taste was the coleslaw, so I can't speak about it. I absolutely love the theme of this restaurant and you know what gets me is? That the vintage things that they have on the walls doesn't have a nasty odor like most places I've been to. I actually didn't smell anything wrong in this restaurant. I tell you what--Tiara was an awesome waitress. She was a plus 100 to the 1,000 power meaning she was nice, sweet, attentive, and earned her tip. I like her. Had to give them a shout out! We, the employees at Providence Park, owe a BIG thank you to the fantastic crew of Clear Springs for the wonderful food! A nice spot for dinner, with a nice family friendly atmosphere and interesting décor, I stopped in and got a chicken fried steak with french fries, coleslaw and a slice of Texas toast, all of which was pretty tasty. Both me and my friend agreed the portions were quite generous, and I actually ended up taking half of my main plate home with me, we did have some chocolate cake for dessert with our dinner too which was quite good. This one is hard to beat. Although it is a seafood restaurant, it has so many other things to offer. The fried shrimp is amazing, the pork chop is truly the best I have ever had...as a matter of fact we haven't found anything we haven't enjoyed. Although it's a family restaurant there is a separate full bar perfect for happy hours. There's always great music playing! The service is usually good and very friendly. They are very good to offer to box up leftovers or a drink to go. The prices are extremely reasonable. read more

We were so happy to see Clear Springs in Tyler when we moved here last year. We were regulars at their New Braunfels location. The food is great. Onion rings are to die for. But beware, the order is huge. Highly recommended. Not sure how busy they get since we tend to go during off hours. Service is always fast and friendly. Only complaint is staff doesn't wear masks but our governor says they don't have to. read more

Just wanted to try a different restaurant, first when I arrived it did take a while to be seated, which is fine however there were many open tables. Service was subpar, had to ask repeatedly for things, refills, side of whatever it is that was asked and when we did finally get refills we had to ask again to get our drinks back. Food was okay, much like diner food. Overall, I gave it a try but there are some small adjustments that would make this restaurant better. I enjoyed my experience at Clear Springs. The service was accommodating & pleasant, the food was delicious and they have a 4-7pm happy hour. Kara was a very pleasant serveR. She was also amazingly accommodating. I love a spicy Margarita, but there was not one on the menu. Kara used the Serrano peppers from the Mexican Martini to make a great spicy margarita for me. I ordered the Lil Buddy (a smaller catfish and shrimp combo). Both were delicious. A crunchy, tasty, light coating on the outside and moist, hot and flaky on the inside. My combo included fries, green beans, and coleslaw. There was an onion on top of the slaw that kind of ruined it for me. But I would order everything else again, even the slaw minus the onion. Clear Springs is a Fun Texas Seafood restaurant. The decor is Rustic Fish Camp. The waiters & waitresses are friendly & energetic! We met my sister & brother in-law @ Clear Springs for dinner. My sister ordered the Pan Seared Tilapia w/ Crawfish Sauce...she shared a bite...it was really delicious! Brother in-law ordered the Signature "Little Buddy"...fried catfish & fried shrimp combo...looked yummy...he was mmmming & awwwing....sounds like a winner! Hubby ordered the Fish Tacos....he was pleased w/ his choice! I ordered the Shrimp Brochette.....really really good....I'd order it again. We ordered 2 of the fresh homemade peach cobblers to share....Yummmola! ! ! Clear Springs offers many seafood dishes, Cajun dishes, as well as chicken & steaks. I wouldn't call it "Lake Food".
