The massage was fine. The facial was terrible. No one was rude--the place was just spectacularly unpolished. If you're looking for a basic neighborhood massage, you may be perfectly happy. If the website has you picturing a serene, elevated spa experience, lower that vision several floors. I went in for relaxation and left needing a glass of real wine and a legitimate spa day.

I appreciated her work enough that I returned and booked a two-hour massage with her. I was subsequently informed that my appointment had been canceled because I did not "tip enough." Let that sink in. A gratuity is, by definition, voluntary. It is not part of the agreed-upon price of a service, nor should continued access to a therapist be contingent upon meeting some undisclosed expectation for additional compensation. If a business or therapist requires a particular amount above the advertised rate, then that amount should be reflected transparently in the price of the service--not enforced after the fact through cancellation of a returning client. Whether this reflects a management problem in which therapists are not being adequately compensated, or simply the expectations of an individual therapist, I cannot say. What I can say is that management apparently allowed a longtime returning client to be refused service because of an allegedly insufficient gratuity. As someone who has spent 30 years in this profession, I find that deeply unprofessional and contrary to the spirit of what gratuity is supposed to mean. For the record, I tipped 20% on my previous two-hour massage. But the amount is ultimately beside the point. I have treated countless people over the course of my career, some of whom tipped generously, some modestly, and some not at all. I have never "fired" a client because I decided their gratuity wasn't sufficient. Massage therapy is a professional service. Charge what your work is worth. Pay your therapists what their work is worth. But don't advertise one price and then quietly impose an unwritten financial test on clients afterward. After being a frequent customer of this business, I will not return.

Unfortunately, my recent experience was really disappointing. Since my friend wasn't available, I booked with a different therapist and asked for the deep tissue upgrade. Before we started, I clearly explained that I'm a distance runner and was looking for something between a sports massage and deep tissue: focused work, but not the kind of super intense pressure that leaves you sore for days. The massage therapist was so nice and I really thought we were aligned. But pretty quickly, something felt off. It took me a while to realize what it was, but there was no music playing at the start of the session. The therapist didn't turn it on until 20-30 minutes in, which made the whole beginning feel awkward and not very relaxing. There were also some basic details that were missed. I had forgotten to put my hair up, and instead of helping manage it (like placing a towel over it, which most therapists do) my hair kept getting caught and falling onto my neck. Rather than addressing it, the therapist just avoided working on my neck altogether which is an area that really needed attention. As for the massage itself, the technique just didn't meet expectations. At times it felt like the therapist was attempting pressure point work, but without enough pressure to actually be effective. I did mention that I could handle more pressure, but there wasn't much adjustment. Overall, it didn't feel like a deep tissue or sports massage, more like a very light, unfocused session that didn't address what I had communicated beforehand. I left feeling frustrated and honestly pretty upset that I had used my monthly massage on an experience that didn't meet my needs. I typically tip 20-30%, but this time I only tipped 15% because of how disappointed I was. I ended up sitting in my car afterward and crying because I was so frustrated--both that the massage didn't help when I really needed it, and that I hadn't been more assertive in the moment. To their credit, when I reached out afterward, a manager named Jamal was kind and responsive. However, he said he wasn't local to the Marina del Rey location and would pass my concerns along. That was a week ago, and I haven't heard anything since. The lack of follow-up only adds to the frustration. Since I'm locked into a 6-month membership, I'll have to give it another try, but moving forward I'll likely only book with my friend and won't continue after my contract ends. Overall, this experience didn't match the level of quality or professionalism I expected from a place with Burke Williams' reputation.

Every time I thought, "wow, that spot really needs work," he was already there, handling it like it personally offended him. Second--his technique?? Unfair. Illegal, even. The perfect balance of pressure, precision, and whatever sorcery he's clearly trained in. At one point I genuinely forgot what stress felt like. I may have briefly considered canceling all responsibilities and just living on that massage table forever. And the result? I floated out. Not walked--floated. I'm pretty sure I'm 30% lighter and 100% less cranky. Now here's the part where I struggle morally: I almost didn't write this review because I selfishly want to gatekeep Andy forever and keep his schedule wide open for me. But honestly...that feels illegal. The man is too good. The people deserve to know. Andy, if you ever leave, I will absolutely spiral and have to start this whole emotional journey over again. Please don't do that to me. 10/10. Life-changing. Book him immediately before he gets too famous and impossible to schedule... but like, respectfully, not before I get my next appointment.

There is no other way to say it, Talya is a gifted healer. Through her intuitive gifts and years of Colonic Hydrotherapy practice, Talya has been used to help save and renew my life. Talya, I want to thank you for helping to change my life. I feel like a new and lighter person since I stated having colonics with you at Clear Way Health. Although I was initially referred to you, by my physician, to help reduce the high levels of mercury in my body, th4e additional results I've received helping my digestion and regularity are mind-blowing. After having been dependable on laxatives for years, I had damaged my system, making it more difficult to have normal bowel movements. At times I would go for a week without a natural movement. I'm currently doing a 10 Day Cleanse, and I had my very first colonic on Wednesday to support the cleanse (Wednesday was Day 7). Talya and Marti make a dynamic duo, keeping me very calm and relaxed and informed before the procedure began and during the entire process. They did soothing body work on me the entire time, and I felt so safe and taken care of. Talya provided some insight into some nutritional products I can invest in to support good nutrition. Talya has a special gift for making you feel comfortable. This is especially important if you do not come to her from a habit of cleansing, juicing, alternative medicine, etc. It's a very scary thing to have your first colonic, and Talya provides comfort and information in copious amounts. I think you have to commit to going more than once, because the first time it's mostly about "what am I experiencing?" And being a retired Marriage & Family Therapist with a Ph.D in Clinical Psychology, I had all the intellectual awareness and tools to presumably deal with my childhood trauma, but none of it brought me even close to where I am now in my life except Liz. Short Version: Walk in with one body, walk out with a better one!…read more I've been going to Liz for about 5 years now at her little studio in Venice, and had such a good treatment yesterday, I was inspired to write, so as many people as possible know about the magic she does. Liz is not just a massage therapist, she is a bodywork fairy. When you get there, you sit across from her first and she looks and you and your posture and asks you questions about what you're feeling and what you want or need, so she knows what she wants to go for in your session. I am a writer and had been having some numbness in one typing hand, so I asked if she could give me some kind of massage that would help. Well, she didn't just give me some regular ol' massage. She did all this focused muscle and nerve work from my neck, shoulders, arms down through my fingers. And by the time I got home and sat at my keyboard, my hand was like a brand new limb, working perfectly again. Like, I wanted to shout all church-style "I've been healed!" Really. If you have ANYTHING you that has been bothering you specifically -- an injury, an old pain, a new pain, a pregnancy, stress neck, back whatevers -- Liz is your girl. She also does amazing regular relaxing massages too, which is what I usually go in for. I think of it like an oil change, my regular body/muscle maintenance. I did a few sessions of ROLFing with her too. Which is all to say that overall, the healing she is able to do with her knowledge is beyond. She seriously just knows everything. If she is not your girl yet, she should be.

Suzanne is incredibly warm and kind and she has magic hands. She is able to provide a true deep tissue massage and I always leave feeling so much relief in my back, neck, and shoulders. I used to try a different spot for every massage until I met Suzanne and now I will never go anywhere else. In addition to her sensational deep tissue massages, Suzanne gave me wonderful prenatal massages during my pregnancy. She was very attentive to the areas needing special attention and made sure that I truly got a healing session every time I saw her.
