I stopped coming last year after the practice dropped my Delta Dental insurance. I recently decided to give them another try because I now have dental insurance through Cigna. Before my most recent appointment, I sent my insurance information in advance by email and also confirmed it by phone. The office booked the appointment with no mention of any issues. I drove there, took time out of my day, and once I was already sitting in the chair, I was told that the practice had dropped all insurance and asked if I wanted to proceed, pay out of pocket, and then personally deal with whatever reimbursement my insurance might or might not provide later. This conversation happened with a dental hygienist, not an office administrator, despite the practice having administrative staff, and it was extremely uncomfortable. It felt inappropriate for a clinical provider to be put in the position of handling a billing and insurance issue. I declined and left, having wasted time commuting and attending an appointment that should never have been booked under these circumstances. This same situation has happened to me before and is exactly why I stopped going previously. What is most concerning is that all responsibility is placed on the patient. You are expected to manage insurance reimbursement yourself, the practice takes no accountability, and they reserve the right to charge whatever they choose, often well above standard ADA fee guidelines. There was also no follow-up of any kind from the office after the visit. No courtesy call, no acknowledgment, and no attempt to address the situation, which further reinforced the lack of professionalism. The office is beautiful and the staff is welcoming, but the lack of upfront communication, pricing transparency, and professional handling of insurance matters feels misleading. I am sharing this so others are aware and can ask very direct questions before booking, especially if insurance coverage matters to you.

She first showed me around the clinic and introduced me to the dentist via pictures and handed me a welcome gift. My Hygienist was Kristi and OMG, she probably spoiled it for the rest of them because my expectations are very high now lol. She was just simply superb. The way she communicated was amazingly clear and the way she translated my findings to the Dentis was to the tee. My Dentist was Dr. Carlson. I must be getting old because she seemed so young lol. Very nice Dr. She also communicated everything nicely to me. All together I am happy to say that I found a new dentist. the only feedback I have is with the high cost of getting things done I was offered a plan to break up the cost, but I think it was more like a credit card of some sort. She did say she would not pull my credit and that if she did it would be a soft pull but not until I looked up the payment plan. Of course I declined it immediately since the interest rate was 33%. I think they need to offer better options like my old dentist. They offer to break up the plan without having to apply for credit. But, everything was very satisfactory. I am glad to have found a nice, clean, modern and friendly dentist.

I recently went to a new Advantage plan and was told upfront what my co-pay would be only to find out later that I owed them an additional $80 as my insurance was no longer in network. Rather than having a discussion, alll I got was the same reply - they were no longer in network and they never accepted the responsibility for not divulging that when I checked in. They settle you in with laughing gas (if requested), a cozy blanket, headphones, a fresh chapstick, and the remote to the ceiling tv so you can get situated and comfy for any procedure. They have consistently been professional, friendly, and respectful, and I have never had any issues -- until recently. She spoke to me in a loud and condescending tone, accusing me of being late multiple times. I was surprised by this, as it seemed unusual for a dental office to keep such a record, but I chose not to let her rudeness affect me and went ahead to my appointment and booked my next appointment. Today, I had an appointment scheduled for 4:00 p.m. I live about 11 minutes away and left my home at 3:45 p.m. While driving on Bothell-Everett Highway in heavy rain, traffic slowed significantly. As I reached the light to turn into the office complex,around 4:06 p.m. I received another call from Jamie. She again spoke in a harsh and disrespectful tone, informing me that my appointment was canceled because I had supposedly been late to nine previous appointments. I explained that I was just on the traffic light turning into the building, but she continued to speak to me in a very dismissive and rude manner, and cancelled my appointment. As a paying patient, I found her behavior completely unprofessional and unacceptable. I felt disrespected and spoken to in a way no patient should experience. It is especially disappointing because I have always appreciated Dr. Berry's care and the professionalism of his staff. Unfortunately, my interactions with Jamie have been the complete opposite, and I can't help but feel that I was treated differently, possibly because I am African and speak with an accent.
