Originally I wanted to come in for my consult due to my farsightedness and high astigmatism but my dad also ended up joining me last minute LOL and the team at SM location tried their best to accommodate him despite their busy schedule - MEGA THANKS! With some back and forth testing to see whether we qualified for the procedure, we did have to visit the City of Industry location a couple of times since they had a specific machine for dilation that the SM location did not have. In the end I ended up having my surgery there and it was a breeze! I also saw both Dr. Grace and Dr. Nguyen as my optometrists - both amazing and honest drs. Literally told me as it is, and reassured me that post surgery, it would take awhile for me to readjust due to my past prescription. SURGERY DAY; went in, got retested to be sure, got to meet my surgeon & the assistants- Dr. Lin- super nice man), just a bit of loud machinery noise and burning smell but both eyes were zapped and done within 20 minutes. I was able to literally open my eyes post procedure, although blurry, but with no issues. Got my handy clear eye covers and had my eyes closed for the rest of day. I might have to wait sometimes, but I understand that Dr. Leung is busy and has a lot of patients, and some patients may take a little bit longer than others. Other than that, there are plentiful of parking spaces, but try to avoid weekend since GV is located in the plaza with many other stores. It might be difficult to find parking spot on ground level during weekends, but you can try the lower level. I would highly recommend GV to anyone who needs an eye doctor.

Instead of offering assistance, he immediately responded with, "I don't know. I don't know how much you're going to pay. I don't know your plan," in a tone that clearly conveyed annoyance. I had already told him what insurance I have. When I asked whether he could check my benefits, he finally said he could, but not before muttering something under his breath. The entire conversation felt like I was inconveniencing him simply by calling. It was obvious he didn't want to be bothered doing the most basic parts of his job. Patients call medical offices every day to ask about insurance coverage, costs, and appointments. These are standard questions--not unreasonable requests. What was most astonishing was the audacity. If you work in a customer-facing role at a healthcare office, the bare minimum expectation is that you treat people with courtesy and professionalism. Instead, I was met with impatience, attitude, and a complete lack of customer service. If answering routine patient questions is that irritating, then perhaps customer service is the wrong line of work. I hadn't even become a patient yet, and the interaction was enough to make me take my business elsewhere.

Then when complications (including a trip to the ER) set in and months without much progress, he blamed me, refused to listen, and said over and over "give it more time." He kept defending himself until finally when I told him I still couldn't see clearly, he said simply, "Yes you can." He failed to take responsibility. When I asked for a refund, he just laughed and said he'd think about it. But he's never tried to contact me. J & J who makes the multifocals said the only way I can get a refund is if the original surgeon removes the lenses. Bottom line: Dr. Huang seems to care more about money than the well-being of his patients. He's a good surgeon--the lenses were put in correctly--but a second doctor I went to said he "undersells" the multifocals. Now my vision is worse than before (one good thing--I no longer have cataracts) but I had to buy new reading and distance glasses. I'm out $6,000 plus another $1,300 for new glasses. Plus the time and trouble, pain and annoyance. And Dr. Huang has disappeared.

Fairly stress free treatment…read more My optometrist referred me to see Dr Jiang due to a horseshoe tear on my retina. After examination, Dr Jiang confirmed the presence of the tear and recommended laser treatment to prevent potential detachment in the future. He informed me treatment can be done right away and asked me to sign the consent form. A couple numbing drops later and he began to laser the torn spot. After about 5 minutes, the treatment was done and it was practically painless. The only sensation I felt was slight pressure on the eyeball from time to time. Overall, this was a lot less stressful than I imagined. Highly recommend Dr Jiang!
