Great food, great service, wide variety of food to please anyone, cozy atmosphere, i would recommend to anyone!

Why is Clearwater's food so inconsistent? Some times the meal is delicious, next trip same dish is terrible. Today I picked up a carry out: child said Rocky balboa burger was great served with delicious tater tots (vice the fries that were requested.). My Fish Tacos were inedible....corn tortilla was so hard/stale it couldn't be bit in to. Fish super dry and overly salted. Partner liked his shrimp tacos though. They're not your fresh grilled shrimp one would expect, but okay. It's hit or miss eating here but if dining in you can at least send your Fish Tacos back. Stay clear of carry out. read more

It's a casual atmosphere and very relaxing. The service was good. The food wasn't bad. Their chicken parmesan was absolutely amazing. The salad was fresh and very good. The steak was tender, juicy and cooked to perfection but it lacked seasoning. I was very disappointed with the baked potato! It was not cooked all the way through and it was cold. It didn't melt the butter at all. The cornbread was moist and delicious. I will give it another try at some point. read more

I ordered a Swiss mushroom burger, medium. The waiter said the burgers were grilled and came with aioli sauce, lettuce, and onion, the side dish was French fries. When the order came the burger was tasteless, the fries were burnt brown, greasy and limp. I mentioned this to the waiter and they promised to fix the problem. Fifteen minutes later the waiter returned with what appeared to be my original French fries but now they were even more burnt and rock hard. This is my last time coming to this establishment. read more

If I could give them zero stars I would. I am VERY early on in my pregnancy (most dangerous time to miscarry), I ordered off the ZERO PROOF drink menu tonight 07/04/2026 while POINTING to the drink I ordered. He did NOT ask for my ID at all or ask if I wanted the alcohol or non alcoholic version of the drink even though I clearly ordered ZERO PROOF and pointed (I am well under 40 years old) The server brought me the same drink but WITH ALCOHOL. Servers name was Conner with brown longer hair. The drink was LOADED with alcohol, I took a sip and almost threw up. I was in COMPLETE SHOCK. When I brought this up to the server he chuckled and said ohhhh you wanted the one without alcohol!??? I said YES I AM PREGNANT. I am horrified, He then brought me the non alcoholic drink which had a piece of DISGUSTING BROWN ICE WITH A PIECE of something in it! My boyfriend and I were absolutely DISGUSTED and got up and left after paying for his drink. Worst part besides being served ALCOHOL when PREGNANT - I called the manager JOSH and let him know what happened once I got myself together after crying and he was unapologetic and absolutely ZERO emotion in his tone and he just said "sorry to hear that" no sincere apology, no compassion, didn't ask how I am feeling/doing or ask what they could do AT ALL. This was our first (and last) time dining at Clearwater. The service was lackluster at best, host was unclear if a server could be sat had to go ask someone. Once sat our server was subpar, couldn't remember the drink order as it was delivered, had to request water refill twice, unfocused... The real problem was the food. Chicken and wings in the pick 2 dinner option was very dry, somehow ended up with double order of mashed potatoes (wasn't what was ordered). I will start this review out by saying that the food here is pretty good. The CWG Burger and the fries were absolutely incredible! The chicken alfredo was pretty good, albeit not the best i've ever had. That being said, the mozzarella bites weren't cooked all the way through. The cheese hadn't fully melted and they definitely not as hot as you would expect from mozzarella bites. Our waitress was very kind, she did mix up our bill with a different table but that is a mistake that could have happened to anyone. Her service was swift and our food came out quickly, in the case of the mozzarella bites perhaps too quickly (haha). The part that really got me to lower my review from 4 stars to 3 stars was looking at my unused silverware after I had finished my meal. it was gross! Fingerprints and watermarks all over, it made me regret not checking it first because the fork I used was probably the same. As a fellow service industry worker I am a bit shocked that anyone would wrap silverware seeing it looking like that, or just didn't pay enough attention to even notice that it was clearly not in a state acceptable to be given to customers. We have really enjoyed the BBQ at this restaurant. Judging by how full the parking lot gets I would guess I'm not the only one either.

I love steak and they always fix it right. Their champagne vinaigrette is amazing. The service is good with friendly servers.

The only reason I am giving 5 Stars is because of our server Michelle. First the good news. We go out to eat at least twice a week and go to a variety of restaurants around Fredericksburg, Madison, Culpeper, Louisa and other nearby area. Michelle would be ranked among our top two servers. Now the not so good news. Although the food is usually very good some items are declining. Example: their fish & chips. They are serving smaller pieces which are not being cooked properly probably because there so skinny and small which results in them being overcooked. Although the manager acknowledged the situation and brough out a replacement piece we probably won't order this item again. With restaurant prices increasing all over it should be a priority for restaurants to ensure quality. Just a thought. This incident won't stop us from returning on the days that Michelle works and for the most part their food is good. read more

Exceedingly average. The service was pretty good. My French dip was what you would expect flavor wise but was very stingy on the meat. My wife didn't say anything about her dish was better than average. Overall, it's a place we went to. I would probably try another place before I would go back. read more

This was my 1st time coming to this Resturant. Our server Lynn was excellent. She was honest with her recommendation, professional and courteous. The expresso martini was okay. The tenderloin tips with red mashed potatoes and tator tots were awesome. My husband ordered the porch chop with grits. Unfortunately he had to send back the grits due to being cold in the middle however the pork chop had great flavor. I would absolutely return and request to sit at Lynn's section. read more

I enjoyed breakfast here last Sunday with my wife and her sister . The food was very good. The coffee was weak for my taste . Service was excellent and the server was very friendly and helpful.. If you are looking for a great breakfast try this restaurant. Let me also mention that it's family-friendly with comfortable booths. I noticed on the way out that they had a smoker so they do serve barbecue. We didn't get a chance to try the bbq but will on our next visit. read more

Never disappoints! It is our local "go to" for a hardy meal. The menu is diverse enough to have something for anyone!

I always optimistic of a restaurant barbecue when I could smell the barbecue when I entered the restaurant. This restaurant is not exclusively a barbecue restaurant so maybe I should've had that optimism. The brisket was so overcooked so tasteless. It made me sad we were there with a large group, so maybe that affected our service, but it was kind of confusing, I do appreciate the waitress did make individual bills for each group, so that was really nice. The salad didn't come out at the same time. I never got my soup so I asked for a different side and they did accommodate me. The crab dip was pretty tasty and the couple that had the nachos really enjoyed them. The people who ordered the pretzels were very very confused because it said of a very pretzel and they were pretzel sticks, and they said they were kinda doughy. I think the winner for appetizers was the queso. It looks really good very cheesy and they really really enjoyed it. My friend enjoyed his beef tips a lot, and the Ruben as well. My ribs on the barbecue was good but like I said the brisket was not when I have to ask for barbecue sauce to cover a brisket you know we're in trouble. They are able to accommodate large groups, but have a very small parking lot. read more

Just moved to town and Clearwater Grill has quickly become out favorite spot. Portions are amazing, food is beyond delicious, and service is so friendly. We've been there three separate times and each time got better and better! We're working on trying everything on the menu! So far we've tried the Philly egg rolls (sooo good!!), ribeye steak (cooked perfectly!!), the farmhouse burger (amazingly good!!), Cajun pasta (huge portion!) , the ribs (fall off the bone!!). Updating our review from a few years ago. We have not been in about two years. A few weeks ago we came in and the food was ok and we actually got fresh fries for the first time. Maybe ever?? Tonight all I got was chicken fingers and fries. Back to one big glob of cold limp greasy fries which is the norm. The tenders looked fine, but they and the fries tasted like they were cooked in a grease fire. I don't know how old the oil would have to be but it's the only flavor that came thru and I'm eating altoids to try and get rid of it. This place is consistently awful, occasionally ok. read more

We stopped in for an afternoon refreshment at the bar. Walking through to the back we noticed how dirty the floor was and the place had a very stale smell. The place needs a thorough cleaning. Our bar tender was very nice and she gave us very good service. If the place were cleaner we would go back. Don't think we will be returning. read more

This is the worst bar on the face of the earth. The bartender, Christen, cannot add and subtract. She charged me for four beers, tonight, when I only had three. When I tried to discuss the error with her, she refused to admit the mistake and repeatedly interrupted me while I was trying to explain the issue. I actually over tipped her and she just acted like a total bacon. This is not the first problem I've had in this dreadful place, but definitely the last. If you are a first timer going here, definitely pay attention to your tab. the only reason I gave one star is because minus 10 stars was not available. The food there sucks as well. Read reviews, looked at menu, were going to be at a nearby winery and thought to ourselves, "let's go there for brunch!" We were seated right away and then took about 15 minutes for a server to get to us. I tried making eye contact with a few to ask who are server was. In those 15 minutes of waiting ( and the walk to the table), we could see and feel that the floor is sticky. The interior is "kind of beat" looking. The bathrooms were awful! We finally ordered. I ordered Fairways: Crispy bacon, Swiss, lettuce, tomato & honey mustard with grilled chicken. I will say that the chicken did have a good chargrilled flavor. However...the bacon was definitely not crispy...it was soggy. Also, no honey mustard...I had to ask for some on the side. The shoestring fries were plentiful, but not flavorful and they were soggy. My husband ordered the French Dip sandwich. He said it was lean (which was a good thing) but just ok with flavor. 10 minutes standing at the front counter on a sunday at 2 pm. No one greets me, despite the kitchen staff and two servers seeing me standing there. That is Service? Incredible. I did restaurant management for close to 2 decades and never left a single customer standing at the front door unacknowledged. You weren't even busy and that's a shame. Won't be back. Before when I came I ordered The Alfredo, it was decent ok. Then another time I brought my wife here on a date, *I ordered Steak and cheese sandwich with AUJU SAUCE, & tater tots, wife ordered *Salmon meal with broccoli. It was great. Wife enjoyed it too, I asked if she would come back here she said yes. You have to go on the times they are not busy. Busy times are probably like dinner time. They have karaoke nights. Okay. We tried. We really did. Gave CG another try today. 2 stars for the bartenders being nice and the Steelers game being on. To begin with, I managed restaurants and Club Food and Beverage establishments, so I kind of know what service, food, beverage and quality are. At least this time we were greeted at the door. Good start. Bartenders greeted us rather quickly despite being busy. Another good start. The beginning of a bad time. Order a Long Island Iced Tea. Not a difficult drink to make. Gin, Vodka, Rum, Tequilla, Triple Sec, splash of sour, splash of coke. Somehow, what I got was devoid of any liquor taste at all. Dealt with it, ordered another drink that was straight up liquor. Wife ordered a dip for appetizer. Dip was tasty. Thankfully came with Pita because the chips that were included were stale. Like leathery stale. Come on now. This is not a good look CG. 30 minutes later still waiting on my entree. Act like you care CG. Bartender came out and told me they accidently gave it to another table and would make one asap, that I would get a discount. Entree shows up. That smoker outside, yeah, that's for looks. What I ordered and what I got were two completely separate creatures. If that was sausage, it was a breakfast sausage and whatever that was impersonating brisket had zero flavor other than slight smoke. The side of fries were undercooked and as limp as the effort to make a good entree. The food was brought by a guy wearing jeans and a shirt with keys so I assume a manager, no apology, not even an explanation, just dropped it off and on his way. I am assuming that the lack of caring, lack of customer service, lack of quality is because there really is not any competition in this area. Which is a shame because they can drop two Dollar Stores within a football field of each other, but only subpar restaurants will give it a go here. The topper was when we got our check and no discount. Because the way you impress people is give them subpar food, late, with watered down drinks and make them pay full price. Needless to say, CG, we won't be coming back, and obviously we will let everyone know about this experience. Sad, because the potential is there to be a shining star in the Locust Grove area, instead you aren't even a twinkle. read more

Unfortunate visit for Father's Day. My wife came across their website of a flyer for a Father's Day Brunch Buffet and called to make reservations/get on the list, to find out after arriving the flyer was for a June 19th 2016 Father's Day. (2016 not mentioned within the flyer.) We decided to still have brunch. We weren't greeted for a few minutes after arriving, despite not being that busy. A girl finally acknowledged us, grabbed a few menus and sat us down. Our server was initially friendly, however, after placing our order goes into the bad... Food took almost an hour to arrive, which was a waffle, French toast, biscuits and gravy, and a regular breakfast mix. During that time, our server didn't visit for refills, check on us, or provide an update on our food. She seemed to avoid us by checking on the table next to us and then passing over us (We were obviously growing impatient), and she disappeared for a period before our food arrived. Once our food arrived, we were missing two items. My eggs came out undercooked/runny (ordered over medium). Waffle was cool to the touch. The French toast was basic and not noteworthy. The biscuits and gravy, which came in a bowl of gravy with the biscuits buried, didn't appear fresh (at least overcooked?), and the hashbrown casserole had a sour taste (maybe the cheese they use?). She did ask if everything was ok shortly after dropping off the items, which we didn't recognize several issues until after. While we didn't visually finish several of our items, she dropped off the check. I wasn't wanting to wait for new or replaced items, and she was less than accommodating. However, I noticed on our bill we were missing two other items that came with our meals. We paid, tipped, and left. Overall, I can't recommend. Regardless of there not being a buffet, the brunch menu was disappointing, the service was lacking, and the food was sub-par for even basic breakfast items. Maybe lunch and dinner are better options for this restaurant, but hopefully the service is better later in the day. read more

After a long day on the road I decided to grab supper before heading home. I should have headed home. So, where to start? Let's go chronologically: The bathrooms were as vile as an untended outhouse, and smelled perhaps worse. There was pee pudding on the floor and splashed up the walls, and flies galore rested on every surface. The sink didn't drain and there was refuse on the floor. I wish to God I had canceled my order and headed back out the door. Nope. I had missed lunch and the dinner hour was well underway, so I wanted to eat before driving an hour home. I waited 14 minutes for a waitress to take my order from the oily menu. At least the wine was prompt. When it arrived, the salad appeared to be poured straight from a Costco bulk bag. At least it was mostly fresh, with only a few limp and slimy pieces. Cue the nightmare. When the "sirloin tips" came, the very small portion was on a bare luncheon plate, sans its advertised "bed of mashed red potatoes." When I asked for the potatoes, there was an 8 minute time lapse, during which time the meat product cooled and the gravy congealed. The unseasoned potatoes were slapped lopsidedly into a tragic heap in a small bowl--which turned out to be a good thing, as the meat smelled notably "off" and tasted... something. Rancid, maybe? I could not eat more than a single bite. I pushed the plate to the far side of the table, but couldn't get away from a smell similar to poor quality canned dog food. The young waitresses were polite and nicely groomed. I initially thought I would give them a B grade, especially given the fact they're serving against wretched odds. However, on top of everything else, when the bill came I was charged extra for the very potatoes that were supposed to be part of the meal. The woman who rang me out came across as surly and resentful that I had caught the error. Here's my advice: if given the choice between starvation and this place, consider starvation. It's literally the worst meal I've ever had at a professional establishment. read more

I arrived to Clearwater fire grill around 4 PM. The place was completely empty and it took at least 10 minutes. For a waiter to acknowledge I was in there they were all huddled around, talking, laughing playing while I was sitting there until finally I spoke up then they all looked at me as if I was wrong as finally my food came out. I requested my steak medium and it came out real bloody when she took it back and brought it to me. It was very disgusting as if they did it on purpose as I'm sitting here waiting on my food flies were gathered around the table and it took a very long time for my way to to check on me to see if I wanted more water or anything else I would never recommend this place for no one. All I seen was a lot of playing and no customer service the pictures below says it all. read more

Brisket sammich, pretty good, dry, not "todays". No sauce, just cheese and some mayo? on the bottom. Smoker out front tricked me. Got 2 sides of bbq sauce, carolina (green, weird but good) and sweet style, both very good, seemed at least partially housemade. Fries=great, but cost extra. Thats an included side in every other restaurant in the world. So, $15 for the sandwich, add $3.45 for fries, wow. Soda is flat. Empty at 1:30, just painted front and new sign, but the inside was very dated and worn out, not a great smell, windows and front lobby not clean. Server almost ran over me, not a word, then interupted my conversation with my server mid sentence. This seems to be a trend almost everywhere... interupt the table without awareness. I suspect they only stay afloat because of lack of options in the area. read more

We've been here twice in the past month, once for their rib special and once for their burger special. Both meals were great! And even though the prices are reasonable at all times, their specials are absolute bargains. It's now our go to restaurant for ribs or burgers. read more
