I have been a long time customer with Fish N Grill. Not anymore after today. Sunday I ordered over 90.00 in food to be picked up. The fried chicken wings were so salty. I could eat only one. I called back and they had closed. Today I called, as they are closed on Monday. I spoke to the General Mgr Kelly. After explaining he said he would not replace my five wings. I told him I still have the other four in my refrigerator and I can bring them back. He said I cannot prove they were too salty. And they don't add salt to food. I explained it was the flouring/ breading that was salty. He said they had not had any other complaints. I then asked to speak to the owner or have them call me back. This was my third time at Fish N Grill (could've sworn I had written a review before but guess not), and I'm so glad we visited again. It had been over a year and, frankly, I expected it to be way busier for a Friday evening. Trying to beat the rush, we arrived around 5:30pm... cue eating with the seniors. Our waitress, Jennifer, was friendly and wonderful during the entire visit. While we were looking at the menu, she warned us the kitchen was backed up about 40 minutes, so that pushed us to put in an order of fried calamari. The calamari took about 10 minutes to come out, which was totally reasonable. The bowl of calamari was served with a side of marinara and spicy mayo. The breading (homemade) was nice and thick, not too greasy. The two downsides of it is that the calamari were overcooked, which led them to being rubbery, and the breading was a bit salty. Given Jennifer had told us the kitchen staff was training, we gave them some grace and ate the calamari anyway. For my entree, I had a combo platter. There's various combos to pick from; I chose the fish fillet and crab cake. You can choose between 4-5 types of fish (I went for flounder) and whether you want it grilled or fried. The crab cake was awesome and had very little filler. All platters come with 4 hush puppies (they were very good!) and two sides of your choosing. I opted for coleslaw, which was creamy and semi sweet but not much (I prefer that over the vinegar base coleslaw), and candied yams. My husband had the two fish fillet platter with a side of mac n' cheese and coleslaw. Overall, the food was super good. We just loved the Fish N' Grill! The kiddos and I stopped in for dinner and we shared the Family Dinner A which was definitely the right choice! We wanted Fish and Grill last night for dinner, but I called them for over an hour, and it just kept ringing and ringing, until it would auto disconnect. Finally, I started getting a Verizon message, and it appeared that they took their phones off the hook. For another half hour, I kept trying, and only got the Verizon message that, "my call cannot be completed as dialed". Figured that they didn't need our business. They need to either get their phone lines in order, or adjust their online ordering, which is faulty. With the online ordering, it doesn't give you the option to order double sides (for example, two sides of yams, as opposed to yams and broccoli), nor does it give you the option to sub out anything. Anytime you order your fish grilled, whether it be eating in or takeout, they allow you to sub out your hush puppies for rice, which my husband and I always do. That is not an available option for online ordering. There have been so many times that I have been unable to get a hold of Fish and Grill for takeout, so we ended up getting food elsewhere. Last weekend, after church, we dined in -- something we've done many times before. But this time, we were served takeout trays that contained what appears to be huge visible globs of spit in the food. When we brought it to the staff's attention, the supervisor admitted to reusing takeout trays but showed no remorse and offered no apology. In fact, he spoke down to us in an extremely disrespectful way. To make matters worse, my father -- a disabled veteran -- who has been in and out of the hospital recently was among those affected and was the one who the supervisor talked down too. We had to involve the police due to the seriousness of the incident. The next day, our entire family became extremely sick. We are still dealing with the physical and emotional toll of what happened. We also want to share that we have video footage of the supervisor talking down to us, but we've decided not to release it publicly at this time. We're keeping it for documentation and accountability purposes. This isn't being shared to tear down a business -- it's being shared to protect others. If something this harmful could happen to a family who's supported this place for years, it can happen to anyone. Please be cautious. I used to LOVE the food here, but ever since they expanded the restaurant and I believe changed owners it is not the same. Don't get me wrong they made the space very nice and the restaurant has a cozy feel, but the location, while never great, seems to be worse now as well. Looks are deceiving. This restaurant looks small from the outside, but is quite substantial and very stylish. The service was excellent, but that could not make up for the food. The shrimp basket was large, but the shrimp were not. The breading was not very flavorful and the shrimp did not taste fresh. My husband said his fried oysters were very good. Our neighbor had a fried dark meat chicken sandwich. I tasted the chicken which was good, but sinewy. We all had fries which were also good. Although the food was mediocre, I would recommend going to this restaurant for the experience since the service was good and the restaurant was attractive. I'm skeptical of such great price increases in a small city like Fredericksburg because why I've seen is price increases and food portion decreases (Red lobster) and the quality is not good or worth the price changes. However Fish n' Grill the food is still delish and the portion size is sizable. I couldn't finish it all. Was the Fisherman's platter worth $36...questionable but I would do it again. I went fried but usually do grilled and both are good. I ordered the Crab dip for the table and while good the cheese solidified rather quick. Another member ordered wings and they were really small but delish. Never had them before so can't say the size is smaller thank before. But they flats were about 1/3 smaller than what you get a BWWs Fried fish and scallops are hard to mess up and it was done really well like the crab cake. I've been coming to Fish N' Grill for years, and it's always been at the top of my recommendations. I'm not sure what's going on with the business lately, as I've heard so many negative stories from people who dined there regularly. I went for lunch with two other friends one day last week, and I was surprised at how different and disappointing our overall experience was. We couldn't believe that we were at our long time favorite, Fish N' Grill! They weren't busy, yet it took twenty five (25) minutes just to get iced tea and order! We saw a couple who had been seated before us, actually asked to speak with the manager, and after ten (10) minutes of no response from a manager coming to their table, they walked out! When the food finally arrived, it wasn't even our order! It was brought to the wrong table, and the young waitress said, " are you sure this isn't your order? " A table of three customers sitting across the room saw what was happening, and a gentleman walked over to the waitress, and politely told her that she had brought their food to our table! She never apologized to this customers while she was picking up plates of food that she had put down on our table! By now the entire restaurant of customers had all witnessed this gross error, and total lack of service and professionalism. We all just looked at each other in complete disbelief of what we had just witnessed! And still No Manager Appeared to respond and resolve this debacle. A different waitress brought our food to our table within five minutes, and she profusely apologized for the incident and delayed service. She was kind and respectful inspite of being so embarrassed that the entire restaurant had all eyes on her. We tried to reassure her that the situation wasn't her fault, and we were pleased with her respect and professional demeanor throughout the process. The food was not only cold by now, but wasn't remotely the same quality and taste that we expected from our favorite restaurant! We ate what we could, but we all said, " there's got to be something wrong, because we never saw either of the gentleman who we normally see, and believed to be family who owned the establishment. " I don't know what has happened, and I pray that the original owners and their families are all well. It breaks my heart to hear people talking negative about this business, because before this terrible experience, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this restaurant to anyone asking me what my favorite local restaurant was. I'm going to return to this restaurant in a couple of weeks, but I will go by myself because I don't want anyone else to experience what happened before. I'm hoping and praying that the family who owns or operates this business are all well and that nothing has happened to them. Regardless of what happened prior, I can honestly say that Fish N' Grill was one of the best restaurants in the Fredericksburg area, and they deserve a second chance to win me back! read more

And they have some hospitable waitresses, but the Cashiers in Carry Out have the worst, and I mean worst personalities for doing service with customers who are spending their money in this establishment.
