This is the second time now we have come here to get the burger specials on Tuesdays. The ice tea is good here and so are the burgers. The service was fast again. They play country music and have a big bar and gaming room.

My husband and I were actually on our way to a pizza shop last weekend, that we have yet to try, when we decided instead to go to Durango Grill. I'd read somewhere that they were very good, so we got sidetracked and ended up here. Meh...maybe we should have went with the pizza. Pulling up, the parking lot is not that attractive. But let's not hold that against them. After all, we shouldn't judge a book by its cover. I generally love little hole in the walls; and especially have a soft spot for sports bar. I wouldn't say this is a 'sports bar'. There are a couple of TVs, but I would just say this is a bar; a small bar at that. Nothing fancy and that's okay. If the food and service would have rocked my boots, I'd have definitely visited again and again, but unfortunately, I was left with something to be desired. Let's not say bad; it wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. My main issue was the slow service. I mean, we sat and sat before anyone acknowledged us. It was like they had lead in their boots. After that, food wasn't terribly long coming out. The waitress/bartender did come over once (and I mean literally once) to check on us. Okay, we were good overall. My husband could have used a refill sometime after that, but it is what it is. I had gotten a water with lemon and he ordered an unsweetened iced tea. For our appetizer, we went with the mozzarella cheese sticks. They weren't even in my top 10 best cheese sticks. They were okay at best. We happened to be there for 1/2 price appetizers, so that was cool. For our entree, we got the bacon cheddar burger with fries. The fries were excellent. I wish I could say the same with the burger. I probably would have loved it more if it didn't have a fish aftertaste. I'm not sure why I kept tasting fish (if it were the bun or the burger), but there was a fishy taste to my burger...something fishy was going on. The place is not child appropriate (not even in the middle of the afternoon). I heard some really vulgar language during our dine in experience that made both my husband and I chuckle. We're grown; we can handle it. But I certainly wouldn't want my stepdaughter or grandkids in there to hear some of the things that were coming out of those old guys mouths. Prices were excellent! A real value for the amount of food that you get; I must say that! The sign on the door was a little disturbing. My bottom line? Food was decent; not great. Prices are excellent. Atmosphere is lacking. If you love the hole in the wall bar, this place is for you. We may return, but likely not. Just not our scene.

Karaoke Jockey Kenny Wayne singing intro song for Karaoke night on Wednesdays

Been coming here on Wednesday nights for Karaoke from 8:30pm to 11:30pm.Everyone supports all the singers no matter what they sing or how they sound. The feeling is, if you are brave enough to get up there to sing, you deserve an applause. The food and drinks are reasonable. The staff is very friendly and helpful if you're trying to remember a drink. There is an outdoor patio for those who need to smoke. Plenty of free parking. Come by and try your hand at sounding a tune. Good fun good food and good people.

This place is a hidden hidden treasure. It looks fairly unassuming and is located in one of the less than fancy plazas off of Plank Road. But man oh man - the food is good! There's a game area and lots of military memorabilia (USMC). The place has a home-like feel. The downside of that is that the patrons tend to stare at new folks. Again - the food is delicious and the prices are amazingly low. I would have given 5 stars if the waitress had introduced herself. Definitely going to return for more

A friend hit me up for happy hour on a Saturday night, and shockingly, I was home from work early enough to actually make it happen. Even more shocking? We chose Cheeky's, and I couldn't have been happier. The last time I was here was back when it was Casey's and Cheeky's was just launching, so I was excited to see how it had evolved. From the moment I walked in, the vibe was giving elegant, cozy, and intimate. Soft lighting, relaxed energy--basically the kind of place that gently tells you to sit down, sip a cocktail, and forget about your responsibilities. My friends had already ordered and kindly let us sample their food. I can't remember exactly what it was (possibly drunken noodles? Possibly magic?), but whatever it was, it was delicious. Since we didn't want to copy their order, my boyfriend and I went with the duck fries, duck wings, and fried beef tips with rice. Let me start with the fries because...wow. Skinny fries tossed in garlic, what tasted like truffle, and cooked in duck fat. Honestly? Some of the best fries I've had in a long time. I would come back just for those. My boyfriend loved the duck wings, which were generously coated in mumbo sauce. A little too saucy for me (I prefer my wings slightly less...bathed), but the flavor was solid and the portion was more than fair. My fried beef tips were everything--perfect crunch, just the right amount of sauce, and packed with flavor. A true masterpiece that really showcased Asian-inspired cuisine at its best. I also ordered the hibiscus lemon drop, which was so good I considered ordering a second (and did). That said, it was a bit overpriced for the size--but still tasty enough to make me forgive it. Overall, Cheeky's is super chic, serves delicious cocktails, and delivers flavorful, creative food. If you're looking for a food adventure or something a little out of the norm, I 100% recommend stopping by for an evening. My only complaint? I still dream about the pork katsu sandwich they had back in the Casey's days--served with homemade wonton chips. I think about that sandwich more often than I'd like to admit. Please...bring it back.

Free street parking nearby was easy to find. If you have a private event, you go to the back of the restaurant at the right and down some stairs. The private event room felt very bachelor den-like in a good way. There were leather seats surrounding the room and a tiny bar with a bartender to make us drinks. We were able to order whatever drink we wanted on the menu. For food, they brought trays out buffet style. We tried a variety of things. The star of the show was the Brussels sprouts. They were cooked to perfection and had a great sweet sauce. I enjoyed the salad too. They also brought out wings, mini burgers, mini fried chicken sandwiches, and tuna. Some were overcooked, but the flavor was nice. The seating was a bit awkward for a group our size in the private room, but we made it work. It was nice how casual it was.

Today's venue of choice was a place called Rivers End, which sounds like either a cocktail bar or a warning label, depending on how your day's going. It starts off a little funny because you have to figure out the right door, then march yourself up the stairs like you're reporting for duty. Once you get up there, though, it feels like the kind of cool old place that's seen some things. You can almost feel the years rolling by, from Caribbean rum days to whiskey nights to the modern era of "smart cocktails," where they put things like herbs and intentions in your drink. The vibe was right. Cocktails were great--strong enough to matter, smooth enough not to apologize for. The food was excellent across the board, the kind that makes you stop talking for a minute so you can do some serious fork work. Most important, our waiter Shane was dead on the mark: there when you needed him, gone when you didn't, and never once tried to explain the menu like we'd just landed from Ohio for the first time. I can't find a single thing to complain about, which for me is almost a complaint in itself.
