Well where do I start. First time here. Waitress came about 5 minutes after we were sat. We ordered our drinks and food. Sat and waited almost 45 minutes for our food. We didn't order anything difficult. We ordered off their brunch menu. Waitress came over once to say she was slow to get our ticket in delaying our food to come out. Two others tables received their food, ate, and left and we never got ours. I was ready to walk out. It was not busy. Heck, hostess even came over to check on us. Waitress needs more training on customer service. Did observe other wait staff come by their tables to check on their people our didn't really do that. My husband and I went here yesterday. It was dark and quiet...but we were there early (4:00 for dinner!) The bartender, I'm terrible with names, was FANTASTIC!!! He made us feel right at home - lots of energy and friendly...eager to please!! My drink was great...a generous pour. ;) I had the Cranberry-Pecan salad with salmon that was awesome!! Delicious. We went after shopping for flowers in Rhoadesville. Great find! Au Jus for the French dip was soooo good. I could've had a bowl of that for lunch. My companions had the Reuben and said it was delicious! The best was saved for last. New York Style Cheesecake made at their sister property Sweet Reasons Desert Kitchen in Fredericksburg. We have visited here in the past and been satisfied. However, our visit yesterday left us wondering if we will be coming back. I ordered a cup of chili and the "Turkey Reuben." The chili was just gross. Obviously, it had been sitting in a pot all day or possibly yesterday's reheated. The Reuben was carved turkey breast and coleslaw smothered in what seemed to be havarti cheese. Only half of the sandwich had turkey. The other half was just coleslaw and cheese. It was not good. It was a sweet cheesey taste that frankly turned my stomach. Especially since it was billed as a Reuben. And coleslaw on a Reuben? The final straw was the "hot and gooey" dessert. It was supposed to be a smores type sunday. It was neither hot nor gooey. It was instead a previously baked brownie in the bottom of a small cast iron pan with marshmallows and chocolate ice cream. Nothing was hot! And because the brownie was cold, it was basically glued to the bottom of the pan! No bueno! The server was great, but whoever the chef is should consider more training! read more

Called and placed an order for curbside pickup. They told us that it would be approximately 30 minutes. We arrived as directed but had to wait another 25 minutes before our food was ready. I took the food home and only one order was correct. We received our soup, but not the ones we ordered. My burger was very dry and did not come with the barbecue sauce as listed on the menu. They forgot my French fries. I called them and told them about the missing and wrong items. They said that the reason we received the wrong soup was because they ran out of the one we ordered, so they just gave us the other kind that they had instead of asking if we still wanted soup. They apologized and said they would give us an extra orders of French fries to replace the soup we did not want. I they also said they would give a small cup of BBQ sauce that I could put on the burger. I drove back to pick up the replacements and went back home to find out that they didn't give me any extra French fries or the barbecue sauce. I called again and told them I was not happy. They gave me $10 off my next order, which I don't think will ever be used. Disappointed to say the least. read more

I stopped in here on a Fri evening after playing a round of golf. There really isn't much in Locust Grove and this is one of the few localy owned places. I had the bacon chedder burger, it was big and quite good. You get a choice of sides and I opted for the corn on the cob. It was very fresh and tasty. Ben had the grilled chicken sandwich, he said it was really good. The sweet tea was very good, not too sweet...just right. Prices are high, besides their specials. Staff is always changing and the food isn't very good. I'm surprised they are still in business honestly. I got a Titos Moscow Mule and it was $13!!!!! And it was mostly ginger beer which has no alcohol in it. I wouldn't recommend Clearwater Grill and I most certainly won't be back. read more

The food used to be sooo good. But on a recent visit (Oct 28th, party of 5)-- the food was awful. We were all very disappointed. Appetizers: pretzels with beer cheese dip, and crab dip. The crab dip was decent. The pretzels with beer cheese dip was HORRID (barely warm Velvetta was what it seemed to be). The main meals (fish & chips, fish tacos, a burger &... cannot remember the other main)--it was all a let down. We paid our bill, were outside saying goodbye, and looked into the kitchen window and THEN saw the issue. EVERY SINGLE THING is pre-packaged and just reheated. There is LITERALLY no "cooking" happening there any more. So sad. Won't be going back; I can make better at home. read more

We went here for their breakfast buffet. I tried here about a year ago and didn't like it. Under new management we figured we would try again. The Buffett was still being set up should have been a sign. My bacon was cold, the sausage and ham were also cold... The omelette station was great. The man cooked to your liking. Although it's no real eggs it's an egg Subsutute and tasted pretty good. They have pancakes, biscuits and gravy, ham, salmon cakes, waffles and French toast. I can not comment on that as I am on a low carb diet so the food that I could eat was cold. We asked the server to heat up ham, sausage and bacon. My husband was about room temp. I brought my little guy over in the stroller from Lake of the Woods, for a father-son lunch . It's not an easy feat, but we were looking forward to it. I parked the stroller outside, and we went into the vestibule and stood beside the hostess desk. By the looks of it, It wasn't a busy day, with a few occupied tables at most. After ten solid minutes of our standing there in plain sight, and beginning to receive a few sympathetic looks from the seated patrons, I began to recognize the fact that the Clear View staff wasn't interested in having us as patrons. So, out the door we went never to return, simultaneously striking Clear View off the list for the large family gathering expected to occur there later in the week. Place wasn't busy a large party was leaving they had one server on break and 1 younger hustling trying to tend to the rest in the Resturant. Took forever to get a drink, (H20) and even longer to place our meal. My nieces buffalo chicken was good, but I had a grilled chicken, although the presentation appeared great, blackened "grilled marks" the chicken was very dry, COLD AND NO flavor what so ever. We used Clearwater Grill & Catering for my daughter's wedding this past weekend. We had used them 2yrs prior for my son's. They are amazing. Hands off to the chef for wonderful food! The staff busted their tails to keep all of our guest (almost 170) served and happy. At the end of the night they not only cleaned their items but helped us with all the decor and other clean up. When we're in the area for camping we love stopping in dor their brunch. They have a good selection of food and the chef selection os always yummy. Stopping by the waffle /omelet station to get a delicious omelet or over easy eggs. My man Caleb always has a positive attitude and is very upbeat, he evens remembers what I order and how I lile it prepared so thats a huge plus. All in all this is a great brunch stop, can't speak on much else because never been for dinner or drinks. We will be back for sure. read more

I went to Clearwater Grill on 5/13/18 for a late lunch. I was seated promptly and had then wait for the official time to order lunch. The kitchen according to the hostess is not "open" while their brunch buffet is served. My waitress was attentive and seemed to have a clear understanding of the menu. Speaking of the menu, it has ample choices for meatittarians and pescetarians. I would describe their menu as "comfort" or "classic" American dishes. Although the waitress was attentive my food was a little slower than you might expect for a restaurant that was not very crowded. I ordered the fish and chips. My entree's portion was generous. I thought the price I was paying for it was more than fair. In a nutshell I would come back to the Clearwater Grill but not for a fine dining experience. read more
