This dry cleaner does an excellent job and contracts with the highest quality leather and suede cleaners too!! They sent my coat with a big oil stain to Canada and it came back looking spectacular! We use the services Cleary Cleaners on Central Ave in Dover all the time (2-3 times per week) and have no complaints at all. The pricing is high but undoubtedly because expenses have increased significantly as well. Jessica, whose been in this store for a couple of years, is a hoot! Thank you for your response. I would also like to clear up some misunderstandings you had. The "ready in 2 days after we dropped it off" came from your employee on the telephone when my daughter called to see if it was ready, 2 weeks later. This was also when the employee told her that Cleary Cleaners never makes calls to inform customers if their item is ready. It is a "vintage" item, but we were told it was not cleaned - at all. This is why she said we were not eligible for the 15% off from the trivia question, which was only applicable for cleaned items. We answered the trivia question on the third try, so we didn't think we should get this, anyway. The employee insisted we did, when we dropped it off. The note attached to the invoice was read to us - we did not see it. The employee read that instead of one 10 inch rip, there were 2 so that was the reason for the extra $40 charge. My daughter and I both dropped off the blanket and both picked up the blanket, so I am writing the review, but we both interacted with the employee. When we dropped it off, she was cheerful. When we picked it up, she was obviously stressed. We did bring all these things to the attention of the - again - obviously overworked, underappreciated - employee, who informed us she had 5 loads of laundry she still had to get to. I understand it was a busy holiday season. We did not ask for a "rush" or any other special treatment. We wanted the tears fixed and the blanket cleaned. Neither was done. We had it cleaned and repaired at We Care Cleaners in Portsmouth and they did a wonderful job. We will go there from now on. I don't usually write reviews, but the attitude and services rendered were well below basic standards. The blanket is irreplaceable. If someone else has an heirloom blanket, I hope they see this and go somewhere that will take care of it. As for the $40 - give it to your employee. Maybe it'll cheer her up a bit. read more

No price was quoted to me when I left off 2 short wool coats. So I was very upset when I had to pay $70.00. And to top it off when I got home I found they were not done to my satisfaction. I already reviewed this place on Google. But I'm reviewing again. There, I complained about their RIDICULOUS prices and since then they have actually RAISED the prices!? I JUST ran a $3.25 wash here and the machine did not dissolve the soap! Went to take out my clothes and they were still covered in undissolved tide!? This place is a total disaster. I live right across the street and I'm considering going back to the laundry place I used to use in Portsmouth instead. First and last time I go here! I pulled up to grab my dry cleaning at 6:52 pm. Parked right in front of the door and as soon as I shut my headlights of, the woman inside literally ran and shut the inside lights off. I know it was close to closing but c'mon. Washing machine broke. Went to the laundromat portion of the business to use only a washer. The place was a typical, clean laundromat. Cost $2 for a small top load washer. The clothes went in not very dirty. They came out smelling like cigarettes and bad BO. I brought them home and dried them thinking it might just be some off odor and dried them, and the smell was still there. Your washers need to be cleaned and serviced! Dear Residents of Dover, This cleaners has the worst customer service I ever experienced. You are never greeted with a smile or greeting of the day but instead greeted with "phone number". The lady that helped me treated my wife and I as if we had no business being in the store. It was an " Oprah Winfrey Moment at Hermes". My wife dropped of my uniforms before 10 am for same day service. The cashier (with barely a H.S. Diploma) had the audacity to reprimand my wife for meeting a deadline the store established. However, my highly educated wife took the higher moral ground. The management allows their employees to treat customers like fecal matter. Expensive!!! I sent a few suits and pants. Total was over 100.00! I pre-paid.. no worries until I go to pick up the next day. They stated they "forgot" to charge me for a pair of pants! They are a next day service. One pair of my wool pants had lint all over them. I do not think I will be back. They would be good in a pinch but thats it. This place is a bit of a nightmare. However, Cleary Cleaners owns nearly all the cleaning and laundry operations in the area so one is stuck with it. First, the laundromat is functional but not safe. Don't leave your belongings around. Keep your wallet and laundry card safe and on your person. Don't leave the laundromat to run errands while your machines are running. Theft of clothing and wallets is commonplace. Occasionally all the machines are working but it is not unusual for two or three machines to be out of repair. There are never enough laundry dollies. I find the staff to be courteous and attentive but they can't be better than the management. I cannot recommend the dry-cleaning business which have destroyed clothing that I have taken to them so often that I simply can't use their services any more. The customer service staff does their best to meet your needs but they are limited by what they can expect from the operations and management departments. If they tell you that your items will be ready on a certain date, don't count on it and don't look for any regrets on their part. They're not interested. read more
