Today I came in after 1pm with 2 friends and had a the cod sandwich. I asked for no bun- tartar sauce on the side. The fried cod was very overcooked but the fries were perfect. I rarely complain about any food and never send food back. I took the leftover fish ( almost all of it ) home to perhaps add something to it to make it better but it was beyond repair. I have eaten here before and the burgers are good. The fried cod is a miss. read more

I've been to Clemson Bros brewery a few times and I think it's about time I give them the review they deserve. Clemson first off has an amazing menu although Small it's packed with flavor each one of their burgers perfectly cooked juicy and very hearty and perfectly accompanied by their truffle fries which are perfectly flavored and just a rich addition to any juicy sandwich from their menu. Now as for beers their menu changes periodically but each beer they add is just as good as the last in my most recent visit I had my fill of "midnight express" a milk stout with 12% alcohol and definitely pack the wallop with amazing flavor not as filling as you would expect a stout to be just the perfect amount of richness. Another staple my fiancé and I always have when we go to Clemson are the Bavarian pretzels. These pretzels are so fresh when they come out of that kitchen steaming hot perfectly crisp nice airy inside with a grain mustard that's just perfect and I can't forget to mention the amazing beer cheese that beer cheese could be slathered over a flip-flop and I'd give that flip-flop at 10/10. Clemson is quite small but a perfect vibe and of course seasonally they have the beer garden which definitely expands the size of the place with games in the back ping-pong darts and various other games like cornhole it's a perfect hang out any day of the week great food great beer and great service. read more

We have been visiting Clemson every few months to enjoy a hamburger or pizza. On this last visit I'm sorry to say that my burger was not what was ordered and not cooked enough and the truffle fries were nothing special. This was not one of our best outings. So we stopped in for a quick lunch at approximately 4pm and we left extremely disappointed. I will say the brewery has a nice ambiance and it offers out door seating which is a plus. Now the bad.... I will start off with the beer.... we tried every beer and they were all flat, we told the bar tender that we felt the beer was flat and maybe he should taste it which he did and said it tasted fine however we have different taste buds... we settled for the hoppy ending, even though it tasted like water.... We ordered an appetizer which was the honey sriracha wings, the only good part of the wings was the sauce. The wings tasted as if they were left over from the night before, just microwaved and dipped in the sauce pretty easy to tell being that the chicken was tough and the interior temperature was scorching hot! For the main course we ordered two burgers one being the Clemson burger which wasn't horrible just over seasoned, and the CBR which was HORRIBLE!!!!! The chicken breast was burnt and drenched in oil..... and what appeared to be provolone cheese was cheese sauce... the fries that came with the burger were also soaked in oil and soggy tasted as if the oil temperature was too low when the fries were dropped.... over all spent $34.00 and left hungry and disappointed. The bartenders attitude was as if he really didn't care, not very attentive at all. I've been to this brewery one time before and it was just ok this is the nail in the coffin for me we will not be returning nor do we recommend it. With other breweries close by they have a lot of competition, time to step it up guys. read more

We just stumbled across this incredible brewery. The space is an old restored warehouse. The beers are all made onsite and are delicious. The staff is very friendly and fun. We sat outside which is self serve. You seat yourself, order at the bar and then go back to pick up your food. We had fun playing games outside and enjoyed our beer. The turkey sandwich was very good. Unfortunately my "medium well" burger came out completely blackened and burnt. It was hard as a rock and inedible, all you tasted was char. We returned it and it took a long time to receive another one, which unfortunately was also charred and had barely any of the toppings- caramelized onions, arugula.... Everyone else had been done eating and were ready to go at this point. I was disappointed to see that nothing was taken off of our check. Not the best customer service in my opinion. read more

Since writing my first review, we've been back 3 more times! I'm happy to report that the beer selections I've made were all a lot better than my first selection. They don't always have everything on the menu, but the Porter's (chocolate peanutbutter) is something special! (Read the description before you go eeeeew!!) We usually stick to the burgers here which are excellent, but I wasn't feeling one yesterday. They have great fish and chips -- that are oddly listed under sandwiches, but are really just 5 giant fish sticks with waffle fries (not as good as the truffles, but a very good complement to the fish) and a REALLY great chipotle tartar sauce. As always, nice atmosphere, and super friendly and prompt service. We'll be back. read more

This was my first time to the brewery and will be my last. I had high hopes coming here but was sadly disappointed. The place is kinda small but it's designed beautifully. The chance to see into where the beer is made was neat but it made the place uncomfortable hot and there was an awful smell in the air. It hits you as soon as you walk in. We wanted to sit out in the beer garden because of the smell and heat but the bartender (who was also the waiter) told us that there was no waiter service outside. "You can eat your food inside and then take your beers outside if you want." The bartender/waiter was very friendly but he seemed flustered and a little awkward having to help everyone alone. The bar was full and there were 5 or 6 tables full and this one guy by himself. We ordered the cheese plate which was very good. I ordered the classic burger and could only eat a few bites before stopping. I ordered the burger medium rare and it came out overdone and dry. It had the quality of a frozen burger, not fresh. There was some kind of spice mix on top of the burger which made it incredibly salty. Half of my burger was burnt black and the other side was cooked normal. I tried dumping ketchup to add some flavor but the salty taste was overwhelming. The two stars I have are for the French fries. They were delicious!! I'd go back for the fries only. I ordered the Lola Raspberry beer which was ok but nothing special. For $7, I was disappointed. We finished our meal and my boyfriend wanted a to-go box for his fries. We packed up the fries and then proceeded to wait 10 minutes for the check even though our beer were gone and the food eaten. Overall, I wouldn't go again. The atmosphere is great if you want to enjoy some beers with friends but the food is in need of help. The service was friendly but it was too much for one person to do alone. read more

Second time here, though I didn't sample too many of their beers the first time (blame equilibrium for that). We decided to change it up and come here first. Got there early and that's a good thing because they don't serve flights after 5:00pm. It was explained to me that on occasions when they get real busy it's too time consuming and they're possibly understaffed to the point that serving flights to a table of six and attending to other customers is nearly impossible to pull off. We ordered some grub from their food menu; a stout burger medium, and an app of truffle fries to go along with the beer. Both the food and the beer were good. Only one of my samplers tasted somewhat flat, the others were all good. We filled one of our empty growlers. And with our appetite and thirst quenched we moved on down the road to the head banging sounds of AC/DC's Back in Black. Will re-visit in a couple of weeks. read more

Decided to check this place out even though I am not a beer enthusiast like my husband. I like that they have regular drinks along with beer. I really LOVED the rustic look and feel of it. The appetizers and food are really good. I cannot remember everything we had, but the wings were delicious! The server we had was very nice and helpful. Awesome place here in Middletown to hang out and unwind. They have a beautiful beer garden outside with a garage full of games like ping pong and darts. Loved this place! Came here for lunch and a beer after being on the road for a long time (we drove up from Tallahassee, FL to visit family in this area) and this was our first outing. My little girl who is a cute ball of energy wanted to sit outside on the beautiful patio so we ordered at the bar and went out there. I had the cider and my husband had the milk stout and both were delicious. I ate the patty melt and homemade chips, the little girl had pizza and the dude shared fries with her. It was such a cool old historic location, it was so beautiful to have the patio area to ourselves during a slow moment. I'm sure it's a super fun and energy filled place with bar goers on the weekend, they even have a huge area with games like corn-hole and ping pong but it wasn't available at the time we were there. Good food, great beer. Their brewing philosophy focuses on drinkabilty as opposed to ultra bitter sadistic beers that are popular among beer snobs. Even their IPA you'll find is very refreshing despite the higher alcohol content. The venue is big with plenty of indoor seating and an outdoor beer garden. The pizza is made fresh to order. We absolutely loved our experience at Clemson Bros. To start with, the wait staff is fantastic. Let's face it, that's not a common occurrence in New York State. But they really got it figured out at this brewpub. They're SUPER friendly and ready to help with anything needed. The building itself is gorgeous in the older brick style.
