Haven't been to Clemson in about a year, but my experience was very positive. Nice selection of beers, which I've heard is even lengthier now, and very tasty pub grub. Many unique sandwiches and burgers, and the fries were quite good. Absolutely blown away by the service from our server, Alex. Alex went above and beyond - offered us ranch for our pizza (El Diablo which was PHENOMENAL), offered a taste of a beer he thought I would like based on my previous order and was just genuine, knowledgeable and kind. Had the fish and chips delivered tonight one word never again. OK two words. I don't like writing bad reviews but the fish was absolutely tasteless. The waffle fries were edible at best. This was a great place to go for lunch. Some of my friends wanted to go to Golden Corral instead (which I was kind of all for), but there was a showdown over the Golden Corral, as my other friends did not want diarrhea. This was probably a better choice. My burger was shockingly delicious (and I fancy myself to be a burger expert). As good as it was though, I was kind of envious when I saw my friend's fried chicken and mashed potato bowl. Service was friendly and its a cool space with the brewing stuff all out in the open... Our other friends just had beer and went on to golden corral. They reported back that there was a twenty minute wait and a bunch of creepy people in there. sad! read more

The service was subpar, we ended up being ignored most of the time we were there even though we were one of 2 parties in the entire place. I probably wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. A group of 11 walks into a brewery on a Wednesday night. One waiter helps us. You might think this story has a sad ending. You'd be wrong. First, the beer. I had the stout. Exceptional. We had wings, the curds, burgers, pizza, fish and chips, and salads. Every single one of us loved it! My one and only disappointment is that the brew is not available here at home. Absolutely perfect stout. Light - yes that's what I said - full bodied, tiniest hint of sweet. I'm so sad i cant have it at home. First let me say great design. As Bethany said in her review - great bathroom sink - check out how cool a concept the hardware is. Now to get down to what's real and unbelievable about this place. - UNDISCLOSED FOOD ALLERGEN ALERT. Beer - good but that's it. Limited options and an IPA is an IPA same as any other really. Mind not blown but satisfied. Service - required to order before entering beer garden and having to go back inside to order food and to pick it up. Um .... first time I've ever had to self-serve at a "full service" restaurant. Food - let's go right to the problem! Menu does not offer any warning such as all deep fried foods are cooked in peanut oil. Perhaps they need to add Epi-Pen to the menu. If the person taking our order did not inform us, this would have been an ambulance ride to the ER. Salad was the only substitute option and that was basically burger fixings with no dressing. Burger was not spectacular either. Average and not entirely flavorful. Considering everyone uses Angus Beef now, this is not a selling point. Atmosphere - the new outdoor patio area is a fantastic setting though the music system should not drain out conversation. Should add to and not take away from the comforts of being here. read more

Clemson Bros is a very good place to go for a casual dinner. I instantly had a positive reaction walking into the brewery. It has a very nice atmosphere and rustic feel. The service was exceptional and they start off by giving you a description of each beer which was awesome. We started off our meal with a flight of beer. They only have four which I thought was prefect (all came in the flight). Each beer was crisp, fresh, and delicious. Ranked in order: IPA: This was my favorite of the four. Excellent bold flavor with just the right amount of hops. Pale Ale: I thoroughly enjoyed this beer. It was crisp with notes of citrus. Light (not as light as the blonde ale) but packed a good punch of flavor. Stout: I'm not a stout fan, but it was surprisingly tasty for my pallet. It wasn't as heavy as a typical stout which I thought was nice, but it still had a bold stout flavor. Blonde Ale: This beer was very light but had a great body with hints of fruitiness. Not my favorite, but very flavorful nonetheless. It's ranked at the bottom, but it is not a bad brew by any means. Now on to the food: Appetizers: We order the bbq wings and fried mozzarella. The wings were great. They were crispy and the bbq sauce was very flavorful. The fried mozzarella was okay, but they were slightly overcooked/charred. Entree: I had the Imperial Burger which was the highlight of my meal. The saltiness of the bacon paired with the sweetness of the jam and tartness of the goat cheese is probably the best combination I've had on a burger. The burger itself was a perfectly cooked medium. It came with truffle fries which I thought lacked flavor. Instead of shaved parmesan, I probably would have used a shredded parmesan to add an even coat of saltiness. My friend tried the Clemson Stout Burger and said it was good. I'm going to try that the next time I go. Overall, a great experience and I will definitely be going again. read more

Clemson's is as good as it gets. The set up is absolutely wonderful, especially for a summer day. The food is great--tasty and well presented. And the beer is crisp and delicious. We tried the Cherry Wheat Ale and the Lionheart Imperial IPA, both of which were great. We were outside for our stay there. The music system may have been a bit too loud for my taste, but the decor (including the lighting, and the stone bar) was brilliantly set up. The staff wasn't stand out but then again we went on a weekend and they had their hands full with tending to all the other customers. I'd expect it to be different on a weekday or during off hours. In terms of pricing, the bottom-line is that you will get what you pay for. And in my opinion its very well priced. They also have a few cornhole games set up outside if you wanted to play with friends. The long benches outside is perfect for larger groups. Overall a very pleasant experience, the only reason why I am not tagging that fifth star is because I expected a larger selection of beers that I have seen with other breweries. But other than that, I would highly recommend Clemson's! read more

I've eaten at Clemson brewery twice. The first time we had apps and they were really good. Today I went in on our way home from the Poconos for a beer and a salad. I was charged $14 for a handful of arugula and some dried out chicken. The bartender outside never checked to see how our food was. Next time I'll just go for the beer. Being a Middletown native who currently lives in Philly, it's nice to see Middletown stepping up its beer game! I recently checked out Clemson Bros. with some friends and I will definitely be back! I started off with the sampler flight and I was pretty pumped that I liked all of the beers, even the stout. My favorite was the foundation, which had an awesome hoppy flavor. Coming right from a family dinner I wasn't too hungry but did try some of a friend's fries. They were cooked to perfection with great flavor. The menu consisted of appetizers, salads and burgers with pizza coming soon. Hopefully the pizza will be added by my next visit! The service was great, and the staff was more than willing to accommodate the large group that I was with. The dining area is fairly small, but they were fine with us moving some tables together and making ourselves at home. It was a little loud, but that is to be expected on a Saturday night. Excellent new spot. I'm looking forward to the food and beer that they come up with in the future. read more

This place is a GEM!! They stayed open just a tad later to get our food order in. The drink menu was simple, but of high quality and made from local distilleries. The food was also SUPERB. Who serves truffle fries with burgers? This place. Also, there's an outdoor bar that's lit up with Christmas tree lights. NOT TO MENTION - there's basically a mini warehouse in the back that has games: corn hole, darts, oversized-Jenga, and ping pong. Pretty much the best burger I've had. It's rare to have a properly seasoned burger. A lot of restaurants may use decent meat, but few actually season the meat properly. This was a juicy properly seasoned burger. To the other reviewer who said they were frozen burgers, you don't know what the heck you're talking about it. We ordered two burgers, the brie burger and the imperial burger. we split them. I preferred the Brie burger, but both were very good. I was a happy happy girl. The truffle fries are awesome as is the house-made pickle. Started with a flight of beers, they were all good but I'm not going to tell you what my favorite was because beer is such a personal choice, my opinion doesn't matter other than to say I enjoyed the flight and settled on one very good one. I'm sure you would find one you like. I know the other reviews were complaining about service, we did not have that issue. Nicole and Danielle were both very attentive to us and the food came out fast. The only thing negative I have to say about Clemson is that I'm very confused why they have different beer and food offerings depending on whether your sit inside or outside. I don't mind that if you sit outside you have to pick up your own food. Not a big deal, I just don't get why one establishment would not offer their food and beverage menu to all patrons regardless of where they were sitting. That's a little odd, but not that big of a deal. I'm glad we settled on inside dining and tried the food that we did. We will be back. Frequently. P.S. We saw a pizza come out of the kitchen for another table and that looked really good. The question is whether or not I could forgo another Brie burger for pizza. They have a "two finger" policy which means they do not have to pour you a whole beer. See the photo. This is a brand new brewery so there were only three beers on tap, one of which was raspberry flavored so that made only two beers that I was interested in. With any new brewery they need time to perfect their brews so I was OK with the limited selection and the decent quality. The beer was simply OK but I think time will change that. With that said, the place is really nice inside. Exposed brick and nice staff. I had a classic cheeseburger and... damn it was freakin' delicious! Charred and actually crunchy on the outside and so juicy and cooked perfectly on the inside. I'm not usually a burger person (almost never order them at restaurants) but I will be back for the burger for sure. The mozz triangles were gooey and yummy as well. I visited this establishment tonight with my cousins. The staff were completely unprofessional. They turned their sprinklers on for an extended period of time, which was seemingly fine because it was warm. However, when they eventually stopped (after 15 minutes), the party at my table cheered. Approximately 30 seconds later, the producer sprinklers came back on and the bar staff laughed audibly. When a member of the party went to the bar, the bartender said, "oh what are you afraid your hair is going to get wet?" In my opinion, that's completely unprofessional. Perhaps, it had nothing to do with her wanting to salvage her hairstyle and more to do with her wanting to feel less like vegetables getting cleaned in a grocery store. Mediocre food. Less than mediocre service. You'd think they'd try harder to establish a positive rapport with customers after having to be closed for a period of time. read more

Cool little place! I love the way it looks and all of the employees were super nice. We ordered a couple of beers and out of 3 I had I only loved one, the beet down sour I believe it was called. The other 2 were nothing special but would definitely like to try some of their others. My fiance and I ordered burgers.. they were good but not amazing. They both needed something more for flavor and were honestly a bit dry. The fries though, yum!!! I would come back just to eat the fries. They were delicious! Came to town on business and was excited to try this place. The beer selection was ok but the beer menu board was more impressive. I ordered the Caesar's salad which consisted of a pile of romaine with "powder" Parmesan and soggy croutons. Standard dressing. I had better salads at pizza joints. Then came the Pirogi's and they were not much better. Deep fried and very chewy topped with a very strong onion "dressing". Overpowered the flavor of the pirogi's. These were served in a parchment lined tin bowl. Very hard to cut while also cutting the paper. Mess! Service was spotty on slow night. Manager eating at bar while serving customers? Bad sign. Thankfully the double IPA was the saving grace for this bed food but good beer experience. read more

We had burgers, my husband had beer, and I had wine (I was happy that wine was on the menu; I thought I'd have to drink beer at a brewery LOL). I ordered the Billy's Burger without the bun, and it came in the same basket as all the other burgers they serve there. I had to ask for a plate, because there's no way I was going to eat that burger with my fingers. I think they should've served a bunless burger on a plate, not a basket. But it was absolutely delicious, once I got my little plate and ate with a fork and knife. Next time I will order it medium, however, and not medium-well, which turned out drier than I had hoped. My husband's burger (the one with the sauerkraut) was also delicious. Only 4 stars rather than 5 because of the plate issue and a burger that could've been 5-star if it weren't on the dry side. read more

We decided to give this place a second chance since the last time we came they accidentally gave our credit card to the wrong customer and we had to cancel our card and order a new one. Today we stopped in to enjoy their outside area which is nice, but for the following reasons we won't be going back... Their service is horrendous. You order your food at the bar and then when your food is ready your buzzer goes off and you go back up to the bar to get it. This means the only thing the staff have to do there is make the food and swipe your card. When ordering, ALL of the staff lack even the slightest smile and barely acknowledge you. In fact, they act like you're a bother to be asking for something.. which is literally their job. I asked for a fork and the server at the bar informed me there were none left. He did call someone from inside to bring the basket of forks out a few minutes later. In addition to lack of customer service, the food was terrible. We ordered the waffle fry nachos with "chili". It literally tasted like a can of dog food was dropped on some fries and was inedible. Throw in the no refills on soft drinks and no milk to go with the food on the kids menu they offer -it was an unpleasant time. Still trying to figure out why we even left a tip when it's basically a self-serve restaurant. read more

Service was extremely slow. It took more than 45 minutes for our food to arrive after ordering. The restaurant is still under construction, so we got to enjoy the sounds of drilling and hammering while eating as the construction workers kept walking past our table. Clemson Bros.Brewery should be proud, and I'm sure they are with their amazing establishment. I visited CBB for the first time last Sunday before attending a function at the Historic Paramount Theatre. I actually found great parking at the theatre so my wife, her friend, and myself decided to walk the few blocks in the rain. Once I entered I knew the walk in the rain would be worth it...and it really was. The burgers we ordered were amazing...the fries were perfect and so tasty without being too salty, and the lobster bisque that my wife ordered was the best she ever had. This led me to believe that everything on the menu hits the ball outta the park. The Staff was also very friendly and professional in a comfortable and casual way. We had a few samples of their brew before we made our decision of what we'd like to have and it seemed that the waitress was more than happy to bring us the samples while explaining in depth the difference of each one. The food came out in 10 mins to my surprise, since the presentation is great and usually the wait is much longer in joints where the food is not even close to the quality and deliciousness of here! One other detail that sold me on CBB is the cleanliness of the dining area and especially the well kept Rest Rooms. read more

Fantastic pre-Father's day dinner at Clemson Brothers Brewery yesterday. First time we have been there and it was a winner. The food is clever and tasty... and the decor is very hip and comfortable. Not at all what you would expect in Middletown... felt more like the lower east side with easy parking. For food, we had the cheese plate app which was garnished with pickled green beans, a delicious surf & turf burger with a huge helping of lobster salad on top, the duck dog topped with a clever blueberry ketchup and fruit chutney, and the margarita pizza... would recommend all of them. in particular breads for all of these were fresh out of the oven and wonderful. And then there is the beer... we sampled several... the Brown Stout and the Cherry Wheat Ale's were standouts. We took a growler home and it was even better. There are a bunch of IPAs and a Cider on the menu too... all made there. We ate outside at the cool stone bar under an industrial-feeling canopy appointed with interesting plants, vintage lighting fixtures, a great sound system pumping deep cut rock & roll, and a few cornhole game setups. The outside bar dining area has several long tables and benches. The crowd for an early dinner was families, upscale groups with both young and older folks. You have a choice of eating outside or in the brand new spacious interior bar. There is an outside grill with a separate menu from the inside. The staff is attentive and clearly getting their act together on making the experience better and better. One area I would suggest is figuring out how to consolidate the ordering process so you don't have to order separately from the inside or outside menu. We will certainly be back. If you are in the Middletown area... get off the Rt. 211 main drag and enjoy this hip yummy beer garden. read more
