Amazing spot with the freshest oysters I have had in the central FL in a long time! Love it and will be back!

My husband and I always love fresh seafoods, after we move to Clermont, we finally tried here at last! Today is Sunday and they open at 1:00pm, we got there around 12:52 and worried that here didn't open as the entrance is small and not fancy. We were the first customer and got the foods really fast. 1. Fish Dip is always our choice, we ordered and it was fresh, tasted good, a decent flavor! 2. A dozen of raw Oysters! It came fresh and being opened in front of you! It tasted so fresh, ocean taste with little sea-salt touch. Not too creamy with a clean finish. 3. 1/2 spicy Peel & Eat Shrimp. Maybe the server couldn't hear about the spicy word, it tasted plain. Other than that, it was so fresh because you can tell from the freshness of the meat. Normally peeling shrimp comes with the shell, but not this one, so easy to eat. Yummy. I am a crab lover so will come back for crab legs. After we sat down for awhile (5 mins), customers kept coming in, you can tell how popular and good this place is. The server was so caring and nice, always came back for update. Poor him, needed to take care the whole place by himself, maybe it's too early. He even gave me a new coke as I just asked for a cup to go. Hard to find yes! It's on the SW corner of 27 & 50 on the access road. On the left side if the real estate office under the awning behind the screen door Ok now you have found the hidden gem! If you like fresh oysters Real fresh shucked in front of you a bucket for just $15. Wow. Snow crab legs you get 5 clusters. Wow. The white fish was excellent this doesn't look like much but its clean and super folks. The people next to us come weekly and said the see the same customers regularly and the staff was great. Little hole in the wall oyster bar that we tried out when we didn't feel like taking a ride to L&R. Good prices for their oysters and boiled shrimp. We enjoyed sitting outside but it was not pleasant to have people chain smoking within a few feet of us on the deck while people were eating. That was enough to discourage us from a repeat visit. read more

I've been here several times. Had a window for steamed shrimp and a cold beer. Problem was beer was gone long before the shrimp came out. Once I saw the subway bag arrive in the back and the restaurant staff eating dinner, it created an interruption in service to get food. I decided to leave when I was up at the cash register. The food was finally coming out. However, I didn't have the time to stay. The cashier slammed my change down and had the worst attitude. Kind of a bummer because I do like this place and I've been here several times. She did mention well this is the restaurant business. I will return, because I have generally had a good experience here, but I was surprised to see the kitchen staff eating a bag of subway subs while orders were not fulfilled. I waited so the cooks could eat. That is a first. They got busted and the girl at the cash register had a horrendous attitude. My bartender was nice but knew it was taking a long time because she had to say it'll just be a little longer several times. read more

This is an amazing oyster bar. Can for a late lunch with my best friend and we sat inside (they also had outside seating but there was a private party at the time). We ordered a bucket of oysters. They were shucked fresh right in front of us and placed on the bar! They also have a couple beers on tap and they are reasonably priced. I got a fish sandwich to go and it was also very good. Walked in to this place for the first time and instantly knew I had to come back. Everything about the place seemed very authentic and I knew I would get good seafood. I placed a to go order - the fish basket & clam chowder. The wait was not long and environment was fun/friendly. To my dismay I get home and reveal that my fish basket consists of 1 small piece of fish - as this wouldn't be a problem had I not paid $15 for this "fish basket". There are numerous places in clermont to get authentic fried fish for half that price WITH MORE FISH GIVEN TO YOU. I was very disappointed that this is what Clermont oyster bars "fish basket" consisted of. Very disappointed that I spent my money on this! read more

I am reluctant to write the review because this place is so good. It is a hidden gem tucked away between a couple of businesses. The service is awesome and the oysters are phenomenal. Haven't found anything on the menu which wasn't good, but I go for the oysters. The shrimp is really good too. Cold beer, good food, no frills. read more

I really enjoyed my fried oyster platter. The oyster were fried perfectly and the fries weren't too salty. I don't know if I was supposed to get cole slaw but it wasn't missed once I tried the plump juicy deep fried oysters. The waitress was awesome and service was decent considering she was working alone. ( she was the cook bartender and oyster shocker) Will definitely come back soon. read more

I came upon this hidden gem while arguing with my wife about great seafood places to eat in the area (not many unfortunately). Parking isn't too bad especially for a Saturday night, it's a bit hidden but not impossible to find. The ambiance is nice, it's not rowdy as some seafood places tend to be and they had a live singer hitting some serious tunes while we ate. The food is great and good size portions, the shrimp basket could of been a bit bigger for the price but overall good portions. The snow crabs were 10/10 chefs kiss . I would definitely eat here again and recommend this place to any seafood lovers or even lovers of good food. All in all, as far as seafood places go Clermont Oyster Bar is a must have with their great crab platters, appetizers and nice atmosphere. Dare I say heighten your experience by eating their crab platter while wearing a grab costume with a crab stuffed animal next to you at the table. read more

My husband and I stopped her on one of our adventures and while I wish we could go back, because I liked the food and the restaurant itself, my husband will never go back. We are a mixed couple and got some very weird vibes from some of the staff and many of the patrons as soon as we walked in the door. Lots of stares and very few smiles. Our kids usually get lots of ohhh how cute'a and hey sweetie's, but here we were only acknowledged by one person. The oysters came out over cooked and almost shriveled to nothing, but when I pointed it out they had it redone for me which I really appreciate and when they came out the second time they were perfect. The bang bang shrimp was AMAZING and I will dream about it some of the best shrimp I've had since moving to Florida. The wings were just ok. I'd skip them next time. Our server was a young kid who took very good care of us and even though we were outside and it was about 150 degrees (lol) they brought the beer in chilled glasses which was super refreshing and it stayed cold for just long enough. If we felt more comfortable I'd be a regular but until they bring their staff and patrons to the 21st century unfortunately we'll have to avoid it. read more

We stopped by on a Tuesday afternoon to check this place out. The crowd was very light but being the middle of a weekday, that's not totally unusual. We took a seat at the bar and inspected the menu, finally deciding on an assortment of delicious items. Our sampling included a half-dozen raw oysters (skillfully shucked in front of us), perfectly fried shrimp, shrimp scampi, crab legs, fries, hush puppies...It was heaven. The service was fantastic and friendly, the food was incredible and the price was just right. Definitely recommend, we'll be going back soon! read more

Very disappointing. I've been going here for almost 2 years. First time back since Covid. Ordered a bucket of oysters lightly steamed. They came out warm but very raw. Sent them back and Asked them to steam themthey came back the same exact condition. I Apologized to the female waitress for asking again and she said well they are steamed they're just big, I looked at my wife and laughed I've been eating oysters for 35 years I'm offended that she's trying to push that off on us. They came out again the exact same way. We were in there for over 45 minutes and were served Two beers and three chances at steamed oysters. when the second bucket came out it sat in the trough for over 5 minutes while she texted on her phone. This is exactly as it's named. It's an oyster bar. There's a few tables outside, but that's it. A big bar to sit at. If you don't get there at a good time your standing because it's small. You order a dozen or a bucket. They shuck them right on the bar too for you. Just awesome and quaint. They have other items like shrimp, poboys and more to order as well and everything I've tried has been suprisingly good. Small selection of beers but enough to satisfy, plus the beer is super cheap compared to any other standard bar you might visit. The place is a little hole in the wall and you would never realize it's there unless someone told you. But I guess that's part of the magic. read more

This review is long overdue because we love the Clermont Oyster Bar! We found it, thanks to Yelp, about a year and a half ago and have never been disappointed after spending many Sunday afternoons there. It isn't easy to find but you'll be glad you did if you are looking for delicious food, cold beer and great service in a relaxed environment. Food favorites: raw oysters (now our 9 year olds' favorite food), fish dip (Yum!), fish tacos (consistently great) and crab legs. We've never been in at night since we take our kids, so I'm not sure how it is in the evening, but it is family friendly during the day. Not a ton of seating but it usually isn't difficult to get 5 seats together. And the kids can play outside too! You won't be disappointed! read more

This is definitely not a fancy place, but if you're looking for some oysters and beers in a cozy casual setting, this is a great option. We would've never found it if some friends that live in the area hadn't chosen it for dinner. They only serve beer and wine, so if you're looking for a fancy cocktail, go somewhere else. There's a patio area outside and inside your only option is to sit at the bar. The bartenders are friendly and they shuck your oysters in front of you. We had an order of oysters and then everyone ordered dinner. They have a pretty good selection of seafood and bar items on their menu, which we all enjoyed. My shrimp tacos were great with lots of cheese and sauce and the hush puppies as a side were fantastic. The snow crab dinner was a hit with our group as well. I'm kicking myself for not taking pictures, but after a couple of beers I just wasn't thinking right. We aren't in the Clermont area too often, but I am glad we tried this spot out. We have been living in Clermont for almost 7 years and have never been to the Oyster Bar until recently. Wow! What a little gem! This is the place you want to go if you're from out of town looking for where the locals hang out. It's a very small place inside with a bar but you can also sit outside. We sat at the bar. I got the clam chowder and crab legs! The food was so good! I personally don't like oysters but they shuck them for you right there at the bar. We soooo wanted to love this place. We are locals and LOVE supporting our local businesses. Came here after reading yelp and google reviews. We sat at the bar, there were initially 3 bartenders. After some time it dropped to 2 bartenders. We loved all But one of the bartenders/waitresses. The one we didn't care for seemed to have a poor attitude and wasn't attentive unless she knew you. We ordered steamed oysters. Had to ask after about 1/2 hour of other people getting their food.l as the order "got lost" . They sat in front of us for almost 15 minutes before they were shucked and served. One waitress apologized and offered us a free round of drinks because of how long the oysters sat before we were actually served. They ended up being on the colder side. That being said they were out of a few things we wanted to try. The steamed oysters were great, and the appetizer trio was decent, the clam strips were more breading crumbs from the bottom of the bag, with about 6 strips. Probably wouldn't come back just because of our experience with the service. Someone sitting next to us said that this was not normal for this place and was not pleased either-maybe it was just a bad night?!?? UPDATE: Waited 30 minutes to pay our bill. Was able to go to the Walgreens across the street, use the atm To get cash, get change from a cashier at Walgreens and go back to the restaurant to pay cash before the waitress ever came back for our check/payment. We've been passing by this place for years. Each time we pass it on the highway, we would point it out and say "ohhh oysters". Not this time....especially after reading all of the raving review on Yelp. We walked in with two kids in tow and of course our 8 yr old loves raw oyster. We literally have to fight her for them every time. This place is literally a hidden gem and all of the locals know. We sat right at the bar with the two kids and we felt very welcome. There were other school age kids enjoying their oysters at the same bar area. We chit chat with the locals and they also ran down the menu with all their favorites and suggestions. Of course we had to order a dozen raw oysters which was open right there Before our very eyes. We also ordered the spicy garlic shrimp, 3 appetizer platter, and obay fries. We couldn't decide on which appetizers to order so our waitress/bartender recommended the combo app platter which gave us a taste of different appetizers. It included the teriyaki wings, fried pickles, and fried clam strips. Everything was so yummy and flavorful you definitely can't go wrong. She gave us a few sample of the clam chowder and it was so yummy....really regret we didn't order that also. Well, we will definitely be back here when we're in town again.
