If you're ever in the Clermont area, I highly recommend stopping by Salt Shack On The Lake. It has one of the most beautiful lakefront locations around. Watching the sunset over the lake while enjoying a great meal makes for an incredible experience. I've eaten here several times because I wanted to make sure my opinion was based on consistency, and they've impressed me every visit. This time I ordered the chimichurri steak, and it was phenomenal. The steak was incredibly tender, and the chimichurri sauce was packed with flavor. It also came with two sweet, soft plantains that were absolutely delicious and fried yuca. Their fried yuca is a must-try. It's perfectly cooked and topped with an amazing sauce that takes it to another level. I've also enjoyed their raw oysters, which have always been fresh and delicious. If you're a seafood lover, their grilled and blackened fish dishes are outstanding as well. The service deserves just as much praise as the food. The waiters and waitstaff are friendly, attentive, and always on point, making every visit feel welcoming. This is a cute spot by the lake that feels very much like a little shack. There was plenty of seating when we came in and the waitresses were very friendly. I started with a piña colada and ordered it without the rum float (I'm not a fan of dark rum). It was not strong at all and was probably the best tasting alcoholic drink I have ever had! It was so creamy and flavorful, and had some toasted coconut on top which was a nice touch. If I was rating this place on the drink alone, it would be 5 stars. However, for my meal I ordered coconut shrimp with yuca fries and it was just alright. The yuca fries were cooked well and came with a tasty dipping sauce. The shrimp had a very heavy coating of batter, and barely any coconut on it. The dipping sauce was good but the coating just made it less enjoyable. If your thirsty you better take your own water bottle with you. On both visits it took 15-20 minutes to get a drink. All the meals that we had would good. My only complaint about their grouper sandwich is that it consists of two small pieces instead of one. Therefore you get to experience the falling apart sandwich as you take a bite. We chose Salt Shack to celebrate our friend's birthday, but unfortunately the experience was very disappointing. Our appetizers arrived within about 10-15 minutes, which was a great start. After we finished those, however, it took roughly 20 minutes before we saw our server again to place our entrée order. Once we ordered, we waited another 55 minutes for our food. When our entrées finally arrived, they were cold, as though they had been sitting in the kitchen before being brought to our table. We let our server know, but only one of the meals was replaced with a hot version. We were also given a to-go box with one extra taco and a side of fries. By the end of the meal, our server apologized for what she called a "bad birthday dinner," which we appreciated, but by then it was already 9:30 p.m. and we were ready to leave. Since we were celebrating a birthday, it was especially disappointing that there wasn't even an offer of a small dessert or any gesture to help make up for the experience. Overall, the long wait, cold food, and lack of service recovery made for a very disappointing birthday dinner. We left wishing we had chosen somewhere else to celebrate. read more

I asked for a Tito's and soda tall and they changed me 4 dollars extra per drink. I said I didn't ask for an extra pour. The manager told me I should have know and told them it was to strong. She said i was paying for it and I didn't have a choice. It was going to be $28.50 for two singles drinks. The shrimp were nicely seasoned and the texted was nice and firm not mushy at all. The cocktail sauce was good as well. The lobster bisque had almost shredded lobster and not big chucks. What a fun bar in central Florida! There were many people enjoying the beach and coming up off boats. The parking area was very small but there is an overflow lot near by. There was a big line outside of the restaurant, so we were worried there would be a long wait. To our surprise, it was only 15 minutes. They text you when your table is ready. We were able to grab drinks at the bar in the meantime. For lunch, I ordered the grouper tacos and my friend ordered the chicken fingers. Everything was hot and fresh, and tasted great. The service was wonderful as well. Since it was open air in some areas of the restaurant, there were a lot of fans throughout to keep everything cool. Our food came out in a good amount of time even though it was very busy in the afternoon on a weekend. Went here for date night with the hubby a few weeks ago. What a transformation compared to the old business that was here a couple of years ago! The inside is completely transformed. Very spacious large dining area inside with lots of seating. They also offer patio seating and large picnic tables outside in the sandy area. Very beachy laid back vibes with the sand, shells, lake view, boats and Adirondack chairs. It was a busy Friday night but we were checked in within 30 minutes of arriving. Long enough to take in the awesome views. We sat in the Adirondack chairs under the large oak tree, waiting for the text letting us know when our table was ready. Our order was taken promptly and brought out quickly. We enjoyed the stacked ahi appetizer, which was served with perfectly crisp taro chips. The layers were seaweed, avocado and ahi tuna, topped with sesame seeds. It was absolutely delicious. My husband ordered the fish and chips. They were very good but not a great value. It is mostly French fries with several chunks of fried fish bites. The fish he had was very tasty though, he just wished it had more. I ordered the chimmichuri steak. The steak was tender and cooked medium well. They have an odd pork based sauce served with the fried yuca that I did not care for. The best sauce they had was the garlic lime aoili, which I ordered on the side. We will definitely return for the great views, service and food. read more

I went to salt shack on the lake a few months ago and I had a pleasant experience so I returned for Father's Day my husband sent me out for a nice dinner while he's working and my experience was a 0/10 as i will not be returning and neither should anyone else! First and foremost their food portions have gotten very small I mean the rice was so hard and the shrimp was so tiny and could have been cooked more on the grill I did not complaint so much I purchased another meal to go that's when the waitress was so nasty! I don't have to be a white woman to be respected I work and my husband work very hard for our money and her attitude was gross I asked her if she could take up all of the plates because I was waiting for the meal and my area was still dirty I am used to going to restaurants where I am treated well and highly respected this however was not the case she insulted me in front of customers and was very hostile towards me I kindly ask for a manager from another waitress and the manager was no different she was very rude and also a white woman there was hair in my drinks, food was horrible today, I left her $0 for a tip for her nasty attitude, and the manager is a nasty woman. I will not be returning here and they have dogs next to customers under the beach table while they eat which is also a very nasty health concern. Being that was only one person I decided to choose the bar. The staff was extremely friendly at the bar. I think it'd only took maybe about 30 seconds and I had a drink in front of me. Even though I knew exactly what I was gonna have I even had a menu. I ordered the tuna Tata. It only took about 10 or so minutes and my lunch was in front of me. Very nice presentation.
