Bhim got the job done which in my case was replacing the battery on my old Dell laptop. Turns out a generic battery wouldn't work so he had to do it twice -- once with a generic and then bought for more money (after he checked with me first) an official Dell battery and everything worked. read more

I brought my fully working laptop here for a simple battery replacement. After their "repair," the laptop stopped turning on completely -- they essentially rendered it unusable. Instead of fixing the issue or offering a real solution, they only offered to remove the memory for free and give me a $200 in-store credit. The problem is that there is practically nothing of real value you can buy in their store for that amount. Even the cheapest replacement laptop (which the manager showed me himself) costs about $186, yet they refused to order it for me or provide an equivalent replacement. They also refused to refund anything in cash or compensate the value of the damaged device. I was told that when you drop off your device, you sign a paper that supposedly frees them from almost any responsibility -- something they never clearly explain, and something most people understandably don't read in detail. In other words, even if they break your working device, they claim they're not liable. I'm sharing this so others are aware: read everything before signing, and think twice before bringing your device here. My laptop was fully functional before their service, and completely dead afterward -- and they took no responsibility for it. read more

William came to my house to look at a connectivity problem between my new computer and an existing HP Office Jet Pro 3 way printer. After the visit I realized that would NEVER have solved this myself. He found that our new Xfinity wifi modem had a software algorithm that the printer could not decipher. He went into the modem software and separated the two different frequencies and linked the printer to the one it could recognize. Fantastic job and all frustration gone. read more

I've been a very satisfied customer for five years. They solved my problems and helped me, efficiently and at reasonable cost. I recommended them, to neighbors and via favorable reviews. But yesterday they failed me, and it was a severe problem: the vanishing of a vital document file's contents. I tried for a long time to solve the problem myself, using on-line sources of information, but nothing worked. So I called Clickaway, knowing that the knowledgeable, helpful technicians would help me. No luck, in 27 minutes of 'external control' work. $100. I returned to my own devices. In time, I fixed the problem, using online sources of new information. It turned out to be something that a true expert should have been able to handle in two minutes. I mean, genuinely simple, if one knew what to do--the task of an expert, paid technician. We can all fail in our work. But this experience has shaken my confidence in Clickaway, and this is a sad day. read more

Came here to get my son's computer fixed and the engineer that worked on the computer wasn't very good at explaining the issue. In her communication I experienced some passive aggressiveness. I asked her how she knew if "xyz" was fixed that the computer would turn on. She replied, "because I have an engineering degree". She completely missed what I was asking. Just felt strange she would answer in this way. I didn't know whether I wanted to pay $300 for a service if it was not necessary. It was something she said I "could" get and it she would waive the price of connecting the screen to the keyboard which was an obvious issue. Anyhow I wasn't sure what to do since it was my son's computer and he wasn't around so it sat there for a while and I didn't know what was going on. In the end after going back and forth we just decided to pick it up and went elsewhere, a little further to Los Gatos, and they fixed everything in one day for half the price and better communication. I had a really good experience with the staff there. I've been building systems for 30+ years and for the first time, I was unable to diagnose and troubleshoot my own gaming rig. I had swapped out so many parts into other systems, all working fine. Tommy worked on it and determined it was a PSU incompatibility (found on message boards). The PSU worked fine on another system (1600 W EVGA), but he was able to get the system to post with an alternate PSU. Tricky issue but working now. I have brought my computer issues to ClickAway in Los Altos for several years and been satisfied with their work. Always done well and on time. Last week, when I got there the problem had gone away. And instead of telling me I needed a new part anyway, Daniel explained that sometimes moisture collects in this model (he knew the peculiarities of different old Apple air models) and that the problem fixes itself. And it seems to have. I wasn't charged and I can write this review on my Air. Sometimes, not doing work and being honest is even better than installing new parts. I had to replace the battery in a MacBook Pro. it's a delicate job, as I watched several YouTube videos in a possible Do-it-youself project. I decided not to risk making a rookie mistake on this type of repair. Tommy at the Los Altos ClickAway location was very professional and knowledgeable. I've never written a review before, but I have to write this one. My Macbook stopped charging with ~70% charge left, so I kept using it without charging, and eventually the battery ran out. I first went to the Apple store, and was told that the diagnostic would take 24-48 hours, but it took more than a week. They thought the problem was the logic board, which didn't make sense to me, so I took my laptop back and went for help at Clickaway instead. Adrain was the tech working on my case, and he finished the diagnostic within a day, believing that the problem was likely the charging port, and possibly the ribbon cable as well, which sounded right. Patrick worked amazing "magic" to transfer somewhat corrupted data from older Mac Pro to a newer one. Not only was his price reasonable - he was there in an instant to work out a minor bug first thing the next day. He made the process easy. It worked, seamlessly. With his help, everything was transferred to the new machine and he explained all I needed to know. In addition, I had been trying to get help from HP ($15/mo) and Microsoft ($15/mo) 'customer support' without getting serious professional assistance. HP's 'help' could never get my HP printer to work. The last time I tried MS I spent 25 minutes on hold, never got a human, turned to chat and tried to work with a person, perhaps a bot, who knew less about PCs than a wilted lettuce. He helped me find a Canon ap. so I could use my new printer Canon doesn't make it easier to add apps. but Bhim sailed through it and minutes later my printer is now capable of scanning docs.
