As always, fantastic service. We have used the Los Altos store several times over the years. This time Sadaf was my IT person. She went above and beyond, trouble shooting my MacBook Air. It was a complicated, multifaceted problem but she didn't give up. She is also very knowledgable, cheerful and caring. We were able to laugh through the worst of the frustrations. Eventually it became clear that I really needed a new computer. She ordered it, got it the next day, and did all the data migration. Then I went into the store and she finished fine tuning and making sure that I was happy with the result. It really was a smart upgrade and I can get back to work. Sadaf also ran a diagnostic and cleaned up on the old one. While it no longer fits all of my needs, it is now problem free so I have a second computer which I can use side by side with the new one.. These guys freaking rock!!! I shorted my motherboard on my laptop and I could not get it to boot. I had over $270,000.00 worth of crypto-currency on my Exodus desktop wallet and I did not have my mnemonic recovery phrase as a backup. And some how these guys got the laptop to boot. I've been going here then I moved. But I still drove 30-40 mins to get my laptop done. Service sucked lately. First stop, took my laptop to fix since it appears to be not charging my battery . My laptop only works when plugged in. I was advised to buy a new battery. So I bought a new battery through Dell . Second stop, I asked to have my new Dell battery replaced my old one. The guy says the battery doesn't fit and just to order a non-Dell one because a Dell battery is expensive and plenty of aftermarket ones. Bought an after market battery. 3rd stop to have my battery replaced with the aftermarket one and this is when it gets really squirly, tech #1 took my name and number and stuck a sticker on my laptop and told me he will not have any time to look into my laptop as he's busy ( dude, why did you flag me going out the door while there are 2 other techs that could possibly serve me? Since I traveled far, I'd be glad to wait longer.). Tech #2 ended up helping me - he said he can do it and I can pick by 5p. I asked him to do a dxtucs as well ad replace the battery. Couldn't make 5pm so called to say I will pick up my laptop the next day. The next day happens, tech #3 helped me . I asked if the diagnostics was done and the battery replaced - he had to look it up and talked to his supervisor and yes, he said both diagnostics and battery replaced. I asked to have laptop turned on . The battery has a 20% charge. I asked why . He said if they didn't order the battery so they cant guarantee what the problem is. He said the laptop passed the diagnostics. This tech was somewhat nervous about me giving a bad review in their internal CS survey but I deferred my judgment . I went home thinking I just need to charge it fully at home . 3 weeks past and it's still not charging and didn't have any time to turn it in that far but did call the manager and the manager Patrick said to turn it in again and they will definitely know from a diagnostic if it's the battery that's wrong. I just decided to try another computer repair shop near me and shared my problem , TECH LOOP in Menlo Park. . Hector at Tech Loop found out the problem within the first 5 minutes ! My laptop port is broken ! He ordered the part and a new after market battery to ensure everything will be ok. $159.90 . Both items were ordered and my laptop was back to its old performing self again. As much as there are good reviews, I feel very compelled to write this one. Wasted my time (3-4 visits), money ($100+) gas etc. on something so simple that if ClickAway bothered to look physically at my laptop , they'd figured it out too! I brought 2 laptops -- each of which had different issues -- to ClickAway and I am so glad I did. My devices were under the TLC of John, who is evidently a tech wizard. He diagnosed one laptop as having a corrupted version of Windows on it, and he reinstalled a working version of Windows and the device went from being a paperweight to a fully functional computer again! I'm thrilled. I was equally impressed with the ClickAway team's work on the other laptop. It refused to charge. They explained to me that they would need to take it apart to examine any issues with the battery, but due to the way it was put together (with the components soldiered on), taking it apart was not really an option. As such, they told me they weren't able to fix it and didn't charge me a dime for their time/work on that machine (even though I know they must have spent time on it if they know how it's put together!). I really appreciate the honesty and the customer-first service. I'll be back to ClickAway for any future tech needs. Do not under any circumstances take your computer or iPhone to this company. I brought my MacBook Pro in to have a virus removed, operating system upgraded, plug in mouse checked, and a general cleansing . I was told I would get a quote in "two or three days." On the afternoon of the third day, not having gotten a quote, I went there and was told someone would call me by 3 pm. No one called until 4:30 at which point I was told the work would be done by "Saturday or Monday." Saturday and Monday came and went. On Tuesday afternoon I went and demanded that my computer be returned, All they had done was eliminate the virus (which I could have done by calling Apple Support) and say the mouse was no good. I was charged $139 for virtually no work, The positive reviews these people get are probably fake. Really do not trust these people. Their word is worthless. read more
