After the hour both "assistants" couldn't get it done. Finally they found my vein and couldn't get the blood out. I left frustrated because they wouldn't explain why this would happen. It was here's a slip go to this lab. I ended calling off work and going to the lap (PLC) and the lady did it in seconds, mentioned the "assistants" might not be properly trained. They do not save any time.. I went the next Monday.. hour and a half.. another vital check.. and told my results, and that I had to do an X-ray. Such a waste of time, a call would have been nice to know I still needed another exam/ lab. I go get the xrays, another week goes by. I come pick up the packet.. to drive home and realize they selected an option I didnt select.. I called and the male assistant says "we select that for everyone". There shouldn't have been back and forth on a legal paper, it wasn't even part of their form. I drove back to get another copy. (The packet is sealed)I didn't appreciate the assistant trying to get me to come another day "because it's busy". When I picked it up.. you could tell he would have thrown that packet at me if he could have. Still dealing with an invoice from them that's not valid.

I found this especially concerning because she is a representative of my insurance company attempting to resolve a billing issue. This incident further supports my experience with Salud y Vida Clinic. The repeated lack of professionalism and discourteous treatment shown not only to patients but also to insurance representatives demonstrates a pattern of unacceptable customer service. Unfortunately, this has become a never-ending situation. In addition, the clinic appears to have constant employee turnover. They rarely retain the same clerks, nurses, or physicians for any significant period of time. The clinic operates like a revolving door, making it difficult for patients to receive consistent care or communicate effectively with knowledgeable staff. They tested for all the things (Covid, Flu, Strep, Pneumonia) and fortunately I only left with a diagnosis of a bad chest cold. I had a C4-C6 cervical fusion 4 years ago and ortho said I would have to be fused from T1-S1 (that's my whole spine basically) and he does not want put me through that so sent me to pain management which I thought would be great but they have dropped the ball on scheduling my spinal injections and I've suffered for months due to bad communication. I've had a pinched nerve in my neck since May and had a trigger point injection from my pain management that lasted all of 3 hours. They said I couldn't get another for 3 months. I call in August and they said they could get me in for October 7th. Which brings me back to AFC. I was in the back in less than 15 minutes from checking in. Dr. Zhang came in and gave the best handshake and let me just say is bedside manner is superb. I explained to him my issue, showed him my x-rays and MRI's, and it took him no time to start a plan. He examined me and saw how hard the knot in my shoulder was as how the inflammation had spread. He immediately said you need a spinal surgeon. Gave me a referral to follow up, placed orders for imaging, and gave me a powerful steroid injection that started working literally immediately. This was not your run of the mill steroid shot. He gave me something that would actually work. It is now the next day and the knot in my shoulder is gone! I slept through the night and haven't been able to do that since May for trying to find a position to put my arm in to take pressure of the nerve. It has been beyond miserable. But I woke up this morning feeling amazing! This is the best I've felt in a really long time and just want to say thank them for such great care! They have even followed up with me today to see how I was feeling. I've worked in healthcare in one capacity or another my entire career. I've been on the IT side of things now for a decade but I remember being in direct patient care and this is the type of experience I wanted my patients to have every visit.

No warmth, compassion or kindness. She told me she was sending 2 prescriptions to my pharmacy. Didn't tell me what they were or how to use them. Then she told me she would be sending me an email of something - I couldn't understand her mumbling under the mask, but I never received it. Didn't offer remedies to help me feel better. No discharge instructions. Nothing. As if I didn't feel bad enough - physically and emotionally about having Covid, this woman made me feel pretty shitty. I can't recommend this place anymore. I certainly won't be returning. I'm giving them 1 star because the front desk people and the tech that took my vitals and administered my tests were all friendly.
